I discovered another great song and star from the credits of The Boat That Rocked. As the credits rolled they played Duffy's "Syrup and Honey". I first thought it was a new song by Lulu.
now over the past few years there has been some good films out there but i think 'the boat that rocked' is one of my personal favorites. it has every a good film needs, its a feel good film and you cant but help feel close to the characters.
such a shame they cut it from the North American release, but they do have it in the deleted footage. and speaking on behalf of Chris O'Dowd's alter-ego Simon, I would have scratched his ex-bride's eyes out for breaking his heart. also all those who have fawned over him in Bridesmaids and haven't seen this movie, I urge you to do so. he's so marvelous and just as cute. wowzer.
I think this scene should have been kept in the movie. I recently saw Chris O'Dowd (Simon) in the movie Bridesmaids. He was really funny. He is just so adorable in everything he does =)
split of 17 hours marriage, wht a bloody hell xcuse , hahahah. Even Simon looks so funy but still, I can feel the pain, nice act. I watch this scene over n over, I just cant get enough.
I must get the UK "The Boat That Rocked" version of this movie. This scene and the trip to Abbey Road scene are not in the US "Pirate Radio" version that I just watched on HBO. I can't for the life of me understand why they'd cut out such great scenes.
Love this song by Lorraine Ellison, by the way. I owe this movie a lot just for introducing me to that record.
When i was engaged, this part used to make me smile. Now that she leaved me, it makes me cry...

This scene describes the passion a song can bring out of a person, all in less than two minutes.
