  • unfortunately, CRack had yet to reach the streets but these TEC actors were just as good

  • Please tell me who the man's real name? I loved him so much as a comedian!!!

  • Who's THA DUMMY RUNNIG THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!

  • he sorta reminds me of Ed Norton (but crankier of course), Jackie Gleason's side kick -- what can I say?? I like old t.v. programs!

  • The One and Only J. Arthur Crank! Rock on!

  • Crank was such a Bitch!

  • Now I remember something after seeing this..they used to always refer back to..."Who's running this show?"

  • lol Crank was Ralph Kramden for children.

  • so right a cross between peteter griffin and archie bunker

  • This would explain the rise of the crank epidemic of the 80's and 90's

  • What great memories I had of this show as a kid... I was a bit too old for the educational aspects of it, but man, was it funny. And what a line up of talent... the great character actor Jim Boyd, Bill Cosby, Rita Moreno, Morgan Freeman to name just a few. Memorable characters too... "J. Arthur Crank", Rita's crazy director, "Fargo North De-Coder" and my favorite, "Easy Reader". Great stuff!

  • What's up with the description?? this was/is a GREAT show.

  • Anybody remember Crank's "outtake" introducing a TEC episode:

Crank: "This episode of Sesame Street has been brought to you by the letters 'cr'."

Director: "Cut! No, Crank, The Electric company! Take two. Action"

Crank: "This episode of Sesame Street has been brought to you by The Electric Company"

  • Can anybody upload the segments featuring "3 or 5 seconds" from 1975-1977 where a cast member or character from the show tries to read a word within the time limit(3 or 5 seconds)? Those segments were my favorites! This segment is one of my favorites, especially that alarm going off after Crank says his name.

  • The dummy writing that stuff was Tom Whedon - Joss Whedon's father.

  • Sounds like Frank Rizzo from the Jerky Boys.

  • He kinda reminds me of Jackie Gleason.

  • words like crack cocaine.brought to you by the letters CIA.

  • Haha that's a good one.

  • thank you

  • Kinda a cross between Peter Griffin and Archie Bunker.

  • Actually, character was indeed modeled after Bunker.

Confetti dump was 6 inches too far left stage. hah.

  • You know what? I have to agree that's pretty much he reminds me of.

  • @Ev105 one out of two ain't bad

  • "You're driving me CRAZY!" Uhhh...too late, Crank. Nature beat the "dummy" to it!

  • WHO'S THE DUMMY RUNNIN THIS SHOW LOL

  • I like when he says that lol.

  • Where did they get the money for all that confetti?

  • Probably borrowed it from The New Treasure Hunt (LOL)!

  • Who was the best character Jim Boyd played? Blue Bettle, Steve Awesome, J. Arthur Crank or Paul

  • I'll vote for Steve Awesome, since the singer on "I Feel Light As The Air" isn't among the choices. :)

  • @mrjimmyg You forgot that Jim Boyd was also the werewolf.

  • Crank and Easy Reader were the main two characters I remembered from EC. And Spidey, of course.

  • Jim Boyd was great as Crank and the Blue Beetle. He played many of my favorite characters on the Electric Company. Does anyone have a video for the song Crank sang that went with 's you don't have to guess you know they belong to me? I have been hoping to find that one for years. I hope somone will post more Crank songs and also The Blue Beetle.

  • I'd like to see "Crank, get the skunk out of the trunk!"

  • Never mind...just found it!!

  • He was on Spider Man playing The Prankster

  • Aw, who doesn't love Jim Boyd? He's so awesome.

  • He IS awsome!

  • I'm going crazy just watching this! LOL plus for some reason I;m thinking of Prince and Gnarls Barkley(hint, hint, song title)

  • Crank is awesome, thanks for uploading this (finally I know where that clip from the opening came from!)

  • This is one of my favorite skits since it reminds me of the show's opening titles for Seasons 5 and 6. LOL!

  • I like when he says "Your driving me crazy!" and he crosses his eyes. LOL so funny.

  • Crank was well-named; I can identify with him at my age. Nifty new logo by the way...

  • Thanks. I'm not completely happy with it, but I don't have the software to let me cut out the logo only. I love the Crank character. He and Paul the Gorilla have always been my favorites.
