Usually it takes 2 years for a full recovery but I know people that went back on the court after a year with a special knee brace and a lot of therapy. It looks like Kelsey's foot got stuck to the deck causing her knee to buckle, pop, and tear. Hope you feel better now cute girl.
@popopop824, it depends on your surgery, doctor, and type of repair. i tore my acl, meniscus, and almost my mcl in football back in september, and i'm 3 1/2 months out of surgery and i'm jogging, lifting weights, and doing rope ladders with no brace, so i don't see why you couldn't swim @1998maddymoo, specially since it doesn't involve impact on the knee, but everybody's situation is different, so just play it by ear and see what ur doctor says
I tore mine wrestling with a friend on a lock in. he came down on my leg and he weighs like 250 and it hyper extended inward and the only way we could describe it was "my knee popped" lol.. but it still gives out sometimes and it increased to being torn in half. idk if i want surgery though, im afraid i will come out worse
Thats good that you go it on video though, so you can make an effort to prevent it. I tore my acl playing volleyball. I was running and it just gave out. I had surgery 6 weeks ago. i was out for the entire school season and probably the travel. But tis been a year now for you so hopefully youre doing well :)
@mcvb4l5 Ugh I'm sorry to hear that...but I am doing great now! Playing college softball and no longer using a brace. Life is goood! Keep working on your therapy and get it all healed up :)
if i had surgery on the 11 and missed my half of season in volleyball and i want to do swimming in 3 months does anyone now if i could do this with a acl and menscous tear?
@1998maddymoo no they wont let you.. i did mine in football im 3 months out of surgery right now and i cant even go ice skating.. there gunna make u wait 6 months
@zestfultuba holy crap, how did you do that, my ACL got torn during practice, and it was only hyperextended, last month, im seeing my surgeon next week to see what hes going to do, then probably surgery on the 9th of November, but i am DONE for this season, football was first, then basketball, then track and field, thankfully this is my freshamn year of HS so i have 3 more years ahead of me, but dude that sucks, im sorry.
it seems like everyone tears their ACL's. Im with all of you guys, it really sucks physically and emotionally. I tore mine last year during a flag football game and im returning to baseball this summer after a year of rehab. It's a long road to recovery but it is well worth it.
I tore mine too :( worst experience to go through physically and mentally..Still having issues and surgery was September 2nd. Wish i wouldve known someone who went through the same experience. So many questions..
ohhhh eh, i say ill give you credit for fightin through it and all but id miss softball and get it fixed. thats what i did and continued to play football and now i have to miss lax and possibly never play sports again.
yea there's a big risk for sure! but it's only like 90% torn and really stable. plus i've been doing physical therapy for a few months and softball starts this week. and softball is not as intense as football ha so hopefully i should be alright! keeping fingers crossed :)
@illbur1truelover good- softball season is almost over and i've been talking to alot of college coaches. surgery plans are early september. then rehab, rehab, rehab!
