  • Im from poland but i love this simple dish, my favourite is with cream on the top. Yummmy

  • @iliescosmin Good thing yours is better, my friend. You saved the world!

  • I am making this it looks great. Thank you for posting

  • merci mamaligadotcom!

  • i would like a video of sarmale and mici my daughter is half romanian and loves the dishes please soemone

  • Great posts sir

  • Enjoyed the video, I like the idea of adding the cheese!

  • I suggest searching on google the history of corn. You would be amazed to find out how offtopic you are with comment "all over balkans and in fact Europe"

  • Corn is completely native to the Americas. It was only grown by the Native Americans, thousands of years before Christopher Columbus arrived to the New World. Petrified cobs have been discovered that are thousands of years old to prove this.

The original name of corn was MAHIZ which meant "Which sustains us". Corn is also responsible for turning nomad tribes into agrarian societies.

Corn is supposed to date since 7000 years ago from the regions of Mexico. I would say polenta is ancient mexican

  • we know that :))..but you see, after Mr.Columbus returned to good old Europe...he did not come empty handed...and among syphilis, gold and odd looking creatures, he also brought corn and potatoes..which quickly spread across Europe wide..that was back in the 14 hundreds..and in 600 hundred years it had plenty of time to get very popular among lower classes, for which wheat flour was a total luxury therefore bread as well. T

  • Bogoly u are the one that shoud learn some history

  • the "mamaliga" is not rumanian food! First learn the food history!

  • Thanks for the comment. I never mentioned that Polenta is "Romanian food". I know that is cooked all over the Balkans and in fact Europe. That's why I mentioned "a staple dish cooked in Romanian cuisine as well as all over the Balkans. Also known as "Polenta". in the info of this video :-)

    cheers!

  • @bagoly2005 - to be fair, Polenta is Italian, but is, in various forms, made all over the world. The Feta cheese part is more a Romanian recipe. I had my first taste of it - albeit store-bought - and I like it a lot. I think I will have a go at making it on my own. I have seen alternatives to constant whisking and, frankly, I don't mind lumps since I'm cooking for myself only :P. Very nice video!

  • My mamaliga =))

  • you should show us how to cook more kinds of romanian food! :]

  • mmmmmm t'è gh'atè ndis gait'ajoti ten meüder! padania!

  • Can you please teach me how to make Sarmale for my fiance? Thank you!

  • I forgot to say that fits the song

    Success in life;)

I guess I do not see that ever:)))

    typical Romanian,but English:)))

  • reseeps? you mean recipes?

  • nice one.although sloppy :P

my grandma was an expert in making it.

used to love watching her make it when i was a kid.

my mom rarely makes it anymore :(

i miss my grandma and her cooking.

  • Cu placere! It's a breeze to make it - really. And delicious - no wonder it appears now on 5-star restaurant menus.

  • i'm just back from my first trip to Romania. I loved eating mamaliga while I was there. Thanks for the video, this is very helpful since I was only told how to make it. I can't wait to make it. i hope it comes out good. I'm quite sure it didn't have cheese in it, but I like the idea and will add it eventually. Multumesc! :)

  • thanks for the video! i'm just back from my first trip to romania and loved eating mamaliga. i don't think what I ate was made with branza in it, but i like this idea very much. i only wish i could find the same cheese i ate there but for now feta will have to do. I'll make this VERY soon. multumesc foarte mult

  • really enjoyed this, clear but laid back, nice one!

  • Please...where did u get that pot????

  • Multumesc mult!! E mamaliga mea favorita!

  • Mmmm :)

  • Dude, you rock!

    Noroc ;-)
