molly is the cutest dog i have ever seen im getting a chihuahua for my birthday and i hope its as cute as molly ( even though she isnt a chihuahua ) i think you should put on more videos about molly i would watch them awww i love her what type of dog is she ?? she looks a bit like a collie to me ??
@lilnmill Yes Molly is a Border Collie, an Australian Sheep Dog, they are very bright but need constant stimulation or can go a bit loopy. We got Molly when she was 6 mths old, her owner was going to a retirement home, she was very timid and she came to me straight away but when my partner got home it took 20 minutes to get her to go to him. She still hates children which is sad because after 5 years my grand children still can't play with her and she is such a loving and gentle animal.
@Hans021220 Molly is a Border Collie, supposedly a pure breed working dog, not a show dog cause they have long hair, and her pups we believe are half Staffordshire. She WAS contained in the back yard but a few dogs managed to clear the fence.
That was a lovely area for her to nurse and whelp. It's nice to see a video with great clean surroundings like that, can't tell you how many times I have seen poor conditions.
Why Thank You, she IS a real sweetie. She has some serious issues tho, scared of people and esp children, but we love her to death and she is so gentle.
LOL just so you all know I handle all my puppies daily and have been showing and breeding Border Collies for years as well as helped with litters of pups from dif. breeds. As long as momma allows you too i handle my pups a few times a day for weight, extra feedings etc.
Hello, I have been breeding reg. working Border Collies for the last nine years. Why is it you think you cannot touch the puppies? I have always handled the pups from day one. You have to to make sure they are gaining weight, remove dewclaws, etc. They are not wild animlas who reject their young if you have human scent on them. Beautiful pups by the way.
It was someone else who said not to touch the puppies, I did not see it as a problem until Molly growled while making the video and that obviously meant she did not want me to touch the puppies and I respect that. Even breeders should not over handle puppies if the Mother does not like it, it should be up to her. But i don't think they usually mind.
im small im getting puppies but for the female to have babies it needs a male right? and 1 more question can it be of the same race im gonna get labrador retreivers 2 of them. please answer back.
You can breed any two types of dog as long as they are around the same size, for ex, if a small female dog breeds with a large male breed she might have difficulty giving birth to pups too big for her. I may be wrong but i believe that mixed breed puppies usually have less health problems. The advantage of getting a pure bred dog is that you know exactly what personality you are getting and what size they will be.
The only reason that mutts appear to be healthier is that there is a lack of testing and backgrounds on the dogs. Mutts are just as likely to get sick, have bone issues, shunts, vision issues, etc. Purebreds are just documented as what is hereditory... just cause they are mixed mutts doesn't take those genes away.
ha ha, and the funny thing is that is the one she is stuck with sleeping in the same bed every night, 6 months old tomorrow and bigger than his Mum now.
Yeh I would love to experience it again but then you have to find homes for them and they grow up and aren't so cute anymore. Dougal is not quite as tall as Mum yet but he is more solid, we believe is Dad is a Staffordshire.
touching the pups as long as you are extremely sanitary is ok, the mom will lick for the next 6 weeks to keep them clean anyway, and as long as the mom trusts u and doesn't seem to mind, u can hold them, we did, and i have had 2 litters. she even brought them to us before we touched them right after they were born, that is how we knew it was ok to touch them...:)
Well Mum is desexed now so we won't be having anymore pups because it is too hard to part with them but it was a wonderful experience and I couldn't help but touch them, it was only for the video and then we left them alone once we moved them to their new home. Thanks for your comments.
they are cute.... my dog is pregnant again, for the last time. i can't wait to experience it again, she is a bichon frise who mated with a bichon/toy poodle mix,- same as before, i can't wait. glad to hear that you weren't one of the owners that treated the puppies like they were yours to handle(technically)...
You can't touch the puppies right after their born (unless their in danger) that can hurt and your not susposed to take them from thier mom,she was trying to clean them
that is so cute she looks like a good mum. the puppies were born on my birthday. I've got a border collie my dad got him from scotland so his name is glen from the glens of scotland. came off a farm was scared of the sheep absolutely useless at times. went out for my birthday for a picnic and he was scared of the ducks.
Anna is doing ok. Growing sooo much!!! We are still fighting with the insurance over her butt issue and letting us get preventative care out of state. SO we shall see what happens!!!
I'll betcha there are male bovine names, just gotta look up bull names, cause cows are female.
Aww the one with the dot is so cuuute! *dies*
Why must it be a cow name? I think perhaps if you named him Sundae that would be so cute. He reminds me of a rocky road ice cream sundae, and gosh you could just eat him up! (not literally of course)
We just thought he looked like a cow with the markings, not a bull. We also recently discover that if you turn him upside down one of his patches looks like a map of Australia. Michael prefers the one with the dot so we are still debating which one to keep. The mostly white one now has a little brown patch on his face.
Haven't asked Michael yet if he likes the name Dougall. He still hasn't gotten over not being able to call him Daisy. We are so proud of Molly, she is a superb Mummy.
Aaaaw they are sooo cute,i expecially love the last one,Congrats molly...hows farken takin in to the new neighbours?...n Trace ur lookin for a MALE COW name? lol BTW its me JOE ;)
Farken is curious but he can't reach high enuf to see inside the box and Molly won't let him get close. Can't wait till he can meet his new friends. Yes, a male cow name, why, do you know any? He does look like a cow tho don't you think.
I hope he wont bite em lol, Ummm...Trace i think all cows are Females,'male cow' is like saying 'male chicken',theres chicken n rooster, cow n bull...hmm whats a good bull name?....Joe? lol :P
Thanks L, hopefully we won't have too much trouble finding good homes for them. None of my 3 sons or step son have dogs but they have their reasons for not wanting one.
HOLY SHIT!! CONGRATS MOLLY!! OMG Look at that baby with the dot on his head!!! NAME HIM BUFORD!! LOLOLOLOL... OMG MAIL ME ONE!!! GOOD GIRL MOLLY!!! Pet her for me please :)!!!!! ~HHJ~
Thanks HHJ, Who's Buford? I would like to call the white one Dougall I think. I like the name and Dougall and Molly are two of Mike Oldfields children. The Pup with the dot on his head has perfectly alligned markings, oh dear, which one to keep??!!
Yeh we loved to watch that and were very surprised by it as she is so rough with the cat and the ferret. Farken is on the outer with Molly atm but soon he will have 4 new mates to play with.
My daughter-in-law does not want one because she thinks Mollys predisposition against children is hereditary. Of course Border Collies are fantastic with chiildren as a general rule. We don't know why Molly hates kids, she was 6 months old when we got her. It's gonna be a problem when the kids want to come around and hold the puppies.
The 3rd or 4th one is my dog!!

Well, recessive genes specific to a breed wouldn't be expressed in a mutt.
