(-continued) I have heard christians leaders stating that repealing it would restrict their chaplains that are in military positions of their religious liberty that they claim is granted to them in the constitution. Basically saying that repealing it would cause these chaplains to not be able to preach homophobia and talk down about homosexuality anymore because the repeal would be legitimizing being gay. It's generally sold that soldiers fight for freedom. Freedom to me means freedom of the person, no matter your skin color, creed, religion, or sexuality.

What do these ppl who are against gays in the military afraid is going to happen? Since DADT has been the law for years its a know fact that gays are already serving. The law only forces proud soldiers to become liars. If they were open that doesn't suddenly mean there will be gay orgies on the battlefield. It just will allow honorable men and women to be honest while continuing to serve their country. Straight soldiers leave sex behind closed doors and so will gay soldiers.

What do these ppl who are against gays in the military afraid is going to happen? Since DADT has been the law for years its a know fact that gays are already serving. The law only forces proud soldiers to become liars. If they were open that doesn't suddenly mean there will be gay orgies on the battlefield. It just will allow honorable men and women to be honest while continuing to serve their country. Straight soldiers leave sex behind closed doors and so will gay soldiers.

All evidence points towards the fact that it wouldn't make a difference, but you can always present your proof to the contrary. I dunno but I just don't buy that 70% of the troops want gays in the military. I am a Marine and I would vote to repeal don't ask don't tell so we don't have gays in the military...I need to see all of the questions word for word and I also want to know if the 60,000 Marines out of country were part of the survey...or was it "state side non combat troops without the grunts?"
