  • Thats the beauty of music guys, and like beauty, its in the eye (ear) of the beholder. No matter how good a piece of music is someone somewhere will dislike. BTW for the record I think this a great song ;)

  • how the fuck can you have 5 dislikes on this song! must be rap loving cunts!!!!

  • One of his best.....cash ....always forever.

  • Es lebe die Liebe!

  • that 6 foot 6 overweight guy Johnny is singing about was probably a fellow inmate during Johnny's unfortunate incarceration

  • @doobeedoo58 uhhhh johnny cash was never incarcerated for an extended period of time. never spent more then a night in jail on a few occasions. you obviously aren't a fan.

  • @protokid1516 uuummm...he did spend some time in San Quentin...he even sang about that joyous time..the song begins with the line..."san quention I hate every inch of you..." So yeah...about his unfortunate incarceration...read about it in People Magazine!

  • @doobeedoo58 no he didnt... he wrote the song as if he was a prisoner. just like he wrote folsom prison blues as if he was a prisoner. the first time he was ever in San Quentin was when he performed there. and he was never incarcerated there. you sir are truly a moron.

  • I'm 6ft 2 and 240lbs, and yes, i cry like a little girl for love :)

  • @TheBrokenBroke , I used to listen to Johnny Cash on vinyl. LP's like Come Ride This Train and Blood, Sweat and Tears. • If anyone apart from Elvis or Jerry Reed sang this, I would have said "No". Then You hear JC! The man means EVERY word, you feel every note. Did you feel as good as I did after this? Was JuneCarter Cash in his mind? That would explain it.

  • Amazing and great song

  • Amazing; this is third version I have listened to tonight. And not one of the singers has been able to pronounce the word 'breast' without stuffing it up (very slightly here).

  • Greatest singer ever to walk the earth.... RIP, Johnny

  • heard this on the radio today..

    But when I see a mother's tenderness

As she holds her young close to her breast

Then I thank God that the world's been blessed with the thing called love

ever since time nothings been found thats stronger than love.

  • de koepel ......

  • This song reminds me of having breakfast before I went off to school. I always thought JC was a real cowboy and somehow got this song mentally connected with Kirk Douglas in 'Lonely are the brave'.

Those backing vocals are a mixture of children's playground singing and something really angelic.
