Since this was recorded in Studio 33--The Bob Barker Studio, should there be any other microphone on the set?. But Gene Rayburn's microphone should be around, Match Game was recorded there, too.
Yeah, even in 1998, GSN still had to make money by omitting the end of the episode fee plugs of some shows, but when they reran Child's Play and Body Language, they seem to keep the fee plugs intact all the time, they've been crunching out the fee plugs as a regular since 2002 but I've seen them doing that on a rare occasion prior to '02 I bet. BTW, for those that wanted to know, Richard had 27 seconds remaining on the time display, Toby with 25 and Robyn with 28 I think.
During the 85/86 Season, Clark hosted 2 Pyramid Game Shows along with hosting the Bandstand and Bloopers, Soul Train was in its 15th Season on syn. Sajak and Vanna was hosting Wheel on NBC and still on syn. and also, Diff'rent Strokes and Pink Panther & Sons moved to abc, Snorks was back on NBC for a 2nd Season, Adventures of the Gummi Bears were born on NBC and NBC was still cookin' on Saturday Night w/Golden Girls, Facts of Life and HUNTER.
What do you mean Chenoholic, GSN still shows these old promotion consideration spots, with the help of the regular '85 episodes coming up this New Year's Eve. But remember, when they reran Season 9 Joker's Wild, GSN hasn't been able to show these 10-second ads, mainly is because they had inserted another set of commercials instead of crunching them out.
I call it the G-T MIC which is the same one held by Barker, Eubanks, Monty Hall, Trebek, Cullen, Perry, Susan Stafford and of course Wink Martindale.
and BTW, Bill Cullen who hosted the original $25,000 Pyramid was still hosting The Joker's Wild for syn. and Betty White was starring in The Golden Girls for NBC Saturday Nights.
God Bless Dick Clark, God Bless Bob Stewart and God Bless Columbia TriStar for keeping the show going on GSN.
I was taking care of my mom's friend's nine year old as I was taping this. Dude was devil incarnate.... If it helps, Richard's final total came to $119,450. However, I didn't get Toby's because the camera wasn't fully on Dick as he was talking, so no chance of lip reading. :( Anyone know Toby's grand total?
I have a question: did Toby go to the $100,000 winners circle the most times? It was given that it took 19 attempts to win the $100,000.

The Mahaffreys won a collective total of over $142,000 on the Pyramid....

I think that was the voice of Mel Allen in that Bounty spot wasn't it?
Nickle98499 1 year ago
@Nickle98499 My guess is no. It sounds like a busy commercials actor from the time, but I can't place the name. I can picture the face.

@Nickle98499 I"ve changed my mind. The more I listen to it, the more I think it was Mel Allen.

Too bad, Bill Cullen never appeared on $100,000 Pyramid, I would've loved to see him pull a $100,000 win.

$100,000 and $25,000 Pyramids return March 30.

All thanks to those lousy spilt screen credits that GSN did.

What happened to that former Bounty lady?

The actress who played her, Nancy Walker (who was also "Rhoda's" mom), died in 1992 at the age of 69 from lung cancer.

One of the rare occasions where Dick Clark had a Bob Barker microphone.
vnisanian2001 3 years ago 14
Makes sense considering this show and "The Price is Right" were both taped in the same studio.

Dude, check out the Flock of Seagulls hairdo on Toby's mom! Plus, her brother is totally rockin' the Miami Vice look. Major '80s.... ;)

Hello everybody. Here are the totals:
Richard: $119,450
Toby: $48,400
Robyn: $119,450.

Oops on my part. Robyn's total was $13,550 not $119,450.
