Eliot Mason is the nastiest trombone player...he sounds like michael brecker on t-bone...lyrically and technically he's doing things that no other trombone is doing and every note is clear! But I got to say...Wycliffe Gordon plays with so much soul...these two guys are people to check out for real.
I mean, they're all completely, completely different players... like it's unbelievable how different conrad, elliot, and wycliffe all. Conrad, is very coltrane influenced, yet he's big into latin. Elliot seems to be more new school, if you've heard some of his stuff. And wycliffe is way old school style almost like dixieland. They each cover a completely different era in music and do so wonderfully.
