  • seen this commercial over 1000 times and haven't catched the "Holly Shit"

  • why dont car magazines test car batteries to see which one is the best.....they always test tyres but never batteries.......!!?!?

  • @tri400 because there are only 4 manufacturers of batteries in the united states, they are all mostly the same.

  • 0:47 Did I just hear "Holy Shit" in a DieHard commercial?!?!

  • That cd player started very fast.

  • Did anyone else hear the gay say "Holy Shit!" when he cranked the car?

  • Anyone notice that Reggie Watts' setup is in the background in the final shot?

  • Hey, any excuse for a gratuitous bikini shot is okay by me.

  • I bet you cant do all this when its flat..

  • This is a bunch of bullcrap. If they heated about 1500l of water in that tub to 40°C, from lets say the ambient temperature of 20°C, that means that they used 1500kg * 20K * 4200J/kgK = 126MJ of energy. A really good car battery can have up to 100Ah charge in it. The average voltage of a car battery is 12V, so therefore the car battery has 12V * 100A * 3600s = 4.3MJ.

    4.3MJ < 130MJ

    I CALL BULLSHIT!

  • @davidjereb please shut up im 15 i have no idea what u r talking about

  • @laxxmann4610 The fact that you are a poorly educated person does not mean that people with superior intellect should stay quiet. And the fact that you are 15 years old is not an excuse for not being able to understand these simple physical equations.

And you know what the worst part is? You are an American, English is your mother tongue and yet you could not understand 50% of my comment above. Not without a dictionary. Oh, right, you've never heard about those.

  • @davidjereb dude I'm not poorly educated. I don't come on youtube to learn or act smart wanna kno why? I have a life.

  • @laxxmann4610 Classic. Whenever someone mentally challenged gets verbally slammed, he starts whining about having a life.

Riding quadbikes and cleaning pig feces all day long does not count as having a life.

  • @davidjereb Well ya, how many adults spend their day on youtube writing equations?

  • @laxxmann4610 When you know what you are doing, you don't need a whole day to write a few short equations.

  • @laxxmann4610 ok im done talking to you

  • @davidjereb The average car battery is 12.6 volts when fully charged. But yes, that battery does not have the energy content to heat a hot tub.

  • @KLowD9x Its amazing what the right power inverter will do

  • @Hiddenbeneath1 Certainly not heat a hot tub.

  • LOL At 0:48 "Holy Shit!" haha

  • where's the backup battery at? "p

  • Wait...heating the hot tub to how much degrees?

  • @lilPat 106.... F not C lol

  • @Skyelisse haha thanks for the clarification, I kinda forgot that it could be in Fahrenheit -_-

  • @lilPat, otherwise it would be above boiling. lol

  • not as good as the other advertisments for it. this one didnt seem as unbelieveable.

  • HOLY SHIT IT WAS GREAT!:)

  • how does a diehard 12v battery run a 220 ac hottub and a 110 ac boombox, grill, and circular saw? must be one hell of a transformer.

  • @PtrOBrn, With a Power Inverter of course.. But all the energy still comes from the battery. You can buy an inverter at many retail stores. I have one. It will run 100 watt light bulbs, or 400 etc.. I can run my vacuum, treadmill etc off a small car jumper battery for a few minutes. A 75 watt light bulb for few hours.

  • Not as good as the old spice adverts..

  • haha

even the diehard guy's surprised XD

at 0:40 he goes "holy shitt!"

  • @Mrloollz all depends how much amp AMPERS it is the battery

  • @xxxpersoni Yes,the guyz starting the car immediately. You are right, every battery can do this they must show us how long the battery can do this.Btw do u know name of the song ? :)

  • every battery can do this just like that using inverter or somthing like that even this gays use invertor no car battery can power 220 volt device

  • @xxxpersoni Surely these tools working with 220 V but i dont know how long other batteries can do this.

  • Is anybody know name of the song ?

  • lmao anyone hear the guy in the car say holy shit at :48? lol

  • 0:34

  • To use a 12v car battery and convert power to 120v electric current that "normal" electrical appliances use, you'd have to use a power inverter.

  • not to hate on the video, but it looks like the cord goes off screen at 00:45 so is it just extra power cord looped around itself or does it go to an external power source? you dont know...

  • Honestly there is no way it heated the hottub up to 106... Even if that battery had a CCA of 1,000 that would be one hell of a feat to pull off even with a deep cycle battery of it's same size. Now the Reggie Watts video I could see happen but this... A little too extreme. I don't think even my 2 massive 1,200CCA batteries could handle this in my truck. Unless the hottub was 105F starting out =p

  • @steelraptor yeah it heated it a few degrees, and the reggie watts had led's on that wall, which don't take much power at all

  • like ACdelco battery is still on my car for maybe 1 year and still good

  • My Optima has been on my car for 8 years now. Still works great. I can still leave it sitting for a month and the car cranks. I can leave it for 5 or 6 months (working on the car), give it a charge, and good as new. I'm not going back to acid leakers again. No way.

  • DieHard Platinum is also an AGM battery and is more powerful than Optima...check out the facts...

  • All I'm talking about is my good experience with Optima. Since I haven't used Die Hard's AGM, how can I comment on it?

  • @haygoodb

if you cant comment on it then why are you leaving comments on it's video?

  • Well, its about what you can do with a good battery, others were commenting on batteries they liked. I'm doing the same.

  • why buy a super battery when most people can live with a standard battery? what kills every lead battery is sulfation. even the most ridgid ones like apollos.

  • I have a platinum in my truck It's the best battery I ever bought. Thanks Sears..

  • To Heat a 50 amp 240 volt hot tub with car batteries you will need four 12 volt deep cycle battieries hooked in series not parrallel, 4/0 copper cable about 3/4inch in diameter. a 5000 watt 240 volt inverter from Grainger and it would have to run 2 hours which is possible but is NOT in this video. Mythbusters wouldnt even wast their time on this. As a Licensed professional Electrical Engineer It is my firm opinion whats used in the video is not possible. They did not mention how many batts but??

  • Wait a minute ignore my comments below The Saw only ran a few seconds, the tanning bed got turned off and the jacuzzi didnt have watermoving around with bubbles and the Heater in a jacuzzi will not operate without water flow across the elements. What is Diehard trying to pull here????

  • @RU469NO nice job to attion lol

  • @RU469NO the point is that the battery can do all those things i dont think they had to be at the same time

as for the jacuzzi it doesnt have to be bubbling to be hot that has to do with air pressure for the heat the water can be still

  • I put my Electrical Engineering license on the line with my friends today. We bought the biggest CCA(725) Diehard hooked up a AIMS 8000watt 12v inverter #PWRINV8KW12V My Jacuzzi Hot tub #J480 (same pump and heater as the J200 in the Video and 4/0 cables 20 times larger than the 8ga cables in the vid. My Results? The Jacuzzi air pump and filter pump for 1 minute until the Heater kick in then the voltage dropped in 25sec to 10.8vdc and the inverter shutdown for low voltage no way in hell this flys

  • the biggest CCA for a diehard PLATINUM battery is not 725, its 930 CCA. You probably got one of the SUV diehard batteries and not the platinum one that they are showing the video.

  • This entire commercial is complete bullshit...except that the woman is beautiful. They are expecting people to be gullible enough to not know that circular saws, home stereos, tanning beds, and hot tubs operate on 110V-120V whereas a Die Hard battery is 12V-14V.

  • Google: power inverters

  • power inverter dude lol

  • @madhatter0110

    it's called a converter...

  • @ChaoticAmbition It's called an inverter :P

  • What really is the kicker is that exact hot tub available from home depot is 50amp circuit at 240volts. I know of no Inverters that are 12volts and puts out 2 phases of 120volts or 240volts. Thats what blew it for me. Further more by National Electric code or NEC "Any device designed for 120 volts must use under 20 amps of energy since the maximum allowed 120 volt circuit would be 20amps. There are 30amp 120v circuits but not standard on any homes.

  • Hey I'm learning about that stuff in my freshman intro to construction - modern residential wiring. it's facinating.

  • Can you say!........ Myth Busters!!!!!!!

  • Yeah they run a small stereo, cut one leg of the chair, the hot dog cooker is on for 2 seconds while the camera is on it, the tanning bed shuts off as she walks away, and it looks like there is another battery sitting to the left of the hottub. Good Work....NOT!

  • Why would people say this is fake right off the bat. It is certainly possible. Diehard makes a phenomenal battery. I have had die hard batteries come back to life and work fine after a year + of sitting in a car outside.

  • Its not impossible that the battery could do that. But not on one charge. As a homeowner with a hottub... I know how much I pay to heat the tub just once. There's SO much energy used in that alone - no car battery holds that much juice.

  • That is true, I noticed the difference in my bills just from heating a 100 gallon fish tank. The th

ing is this. they say 'heated the hot tub to 106'. From what? 103?. That would make the statement true but not really relevant.

  • solacemarine, a bigger point is they heated it to that temperature, they did not sustain it. That's a huge difference.

  • i too have a hot tub and it has a 220v 50 amp heater. the implication in the ad is that it did it on one charge, as the narrator says "and it still had enough power to start the car"... well, of course it did, since it

  • i too have a hot tub and it has a 220v 50 amp heater. the implication in the ad is that it did it on one charge, as the narrator says "and it still had enough power to start the car"... well, of course it did, since it was being re-charged the whole time... so the real power supply was the alternator, not the battery. the battery most definitely did not heat that tub at all by itself.

  • man 15 min is all they needed, oh and the wire to the left, it to record the camera too LOLZ

  • this is so fake, you make barbie doll look real

  • Yea, I call BS on this one

  • an optima could also do all that upside down!

  • Aaaaand an optima could do that and much more =)

  • haha that guy was like "holy shit! it works!"

  • 0:32 That chick is nipping!

  • theres a cord leading offset at the last of the video...

  • naw man look closer its just connected to the car

  • lol yeah than and thre was cord going to the left at the end....

  • maybe someone with literally elecrical knowlege would actually beleive this, but everyone knows a battery is 12V wont handle 120 - 220v. you need a mean PWr converter to power a tanning bed or hot tub...

  • Its called an inverter and yes they did use a Diehard 2200 watt pure sinewave inverter but do the math as I stated below. You are right there is just no way. The Inverter would have to be a 5000watt but they use (4) 12 volt batteries hooked in series creating 48v DC.

  • Comment removed

  • all nothing without an alternator

  • Whoever that girl is, I'd sure like to crank her amps!

  • i bet you would, lol honestly! get a blow up!

  • Video is only one minute a 5000watt inverter will power all of that for 1 minute lets see stereo 14 watts, Craftmens saw 975 watts, tabletop cooker 1200 watts, pearson table suntanner 550 watts, Hot tub not running 0 watts= 2739 watts. inverter draw 228 amps@12volts= 11 minutes on a Diehard 98amphr battery (There Best)

  • well i guess... thats kinda stupid.

  • hey i have that battery! and my truck wont start so im home watchin youtube videos!!!! wtf

  • Ha! The irony

  • obviously they didnt have a good amp hooked to it cuz my hifonics brutus will drain a battery in 15 mins

  • i know diehard batterys last a long time but that was pushing it!!! we usualy get 8 to 12 years out of them if you atleast charge them atleast ounce a year and check the water level inside realy better off having the maintnance free battery lol ..... pause @0.33

  • Half way to hollywood - Dick Prall

  • that is bullshit I tyyed to run a saw and a drill for less then one hour and the new diehard was dead. dont believe everything you see this is total bullshit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HAHA why vid froze as he was taking a bite out of the hotdog... priceless

  • Bull crap no car batter can do that and the car just starts right up bs bs bs bs bs bs bsb s

  • i have a stereo, saw, hot dog maker, tanning bed, and hot tub. Its on i just need some extension cables

  • and u need a hot girl like the one on the video :)

  • @35OzFTW Damn forgot about that one.

  • ha ha ask your parents for X-mas

  • could anybody please tell me whoo plays that song?

  • pause it at 33 sec OMG

  • all that fast....hummmm...must be good.......the hot dog that is...

  • Haha yeah right. Complete BS.

  • Song ??

  • bullshit.. cough cough

  • i would personally still go with my optima

  • FAKEE
