someone started the rumor that there was no nutrients in feeder fish to try to stem the sale and use of feeders. Oscars (and other predatory fish) eat other fish (as well as other things) in the wild as part of their natural diet. Granted they have a more varied diet than just goldfish (just about anything that moves and will fit in its mouth). These fish are much like bass in that nature. So insects, small mammals like mice, fish, and yes even small birds if it is a big enough fish.

I have an oscar and and some other predator fish and it's recommended to feed them LIVE food, and goldfish are one of them as long as the goldfish are healthy. There's also feeder fish sole both online and in stores bred for feeding; have you ever seen pellets/flakes in the wild? so shut the hell up and go ask around or do research and stop acting like a damn BITCH.

the only reason i dont feed my fish gldfish too often is because they are unhealthy for a number of reasons. First of all, they are mainly fat and water(unsuitable diet for any fish) and can carry many diseases, and are raised under squalid conditions. But it is sure fun to watch them hunt and capture!

Actually you're not supposed to feed them gold fish. Reason being is because they're rich in fat and oscars cant digest it very well. But it wont stunt their growth.
