I agree with aceinthehole, this is just as good as their first stuff. Most bands drift off as they get older but RATT/Stephen Pearcy can hang with any of these young punk/demon sounding bands today who do nothing but growl in the mic while the band plays music. Ratt will always rock and they always have.They have tested time itself and won the battle.

This sound has been missing for me for a while, a long with listening to new stuff. Loud guitar, Warren's solo, powerful drum sound ... every thing is simply what I wanted and needed !!! Sorry, this song is weak. It's not as bad as the stuff on the very disposable "Ratt" album they put out 11 years ago, but still not all that great. This would have been a good fit on "Reach for the Sky," another mostly disposable album. The song "Eat Me up Alive" is much better and I hope this album sounds more like "Eat Me Up Alive" than this song.
@GenXAccord these sort of hooks are what Ratt was always about..agree about the thing they did a few years back...Pearcy's voice sounds great here and the productio is much better than the "Ratt" disc

It took a while for "Way Cool Jr." to grow on me, I hated it when I first heard it, and I will never liked "I Want A Woman." The only song I really liked off of "Reach" was "City to City." And I liked most of "Detonator," it sounded hard rock again. I guess this is how some Metallica fans feel about the "Load" albums.
@greenslider And I've heard it takes quite a bit of studio magic to make Pearcy's voice sound good on the recordings. (I've heard they do something called "stacking" for his voice, specifically his voice is triple stacked in the studio.) While he's never really sung on key, whatever that means, he does have a distinctive voice that no on else has ever imitated, but he rarely sounds as good live.

OH, that Classic RATT sound. Pearcy sounds like he did twenty five years ago and DiMartini can still shred with the best of them (and is probably one of the most underrated guitarists around). I can't wait to hear the entire cd !!!
in every ratt album i've noticed demartini's solo's are not loud enough.the mixing isnt good :(

The outro solo in this song is amazing :( it should have been givien a slight higher priority. I guess it is one of the main reasons that demartini is such an underrated guitar player.
The outro solo on back for more is classic.. but it fades out.. the volume level should be a bit higher.The solos should stand out in the song.

When making new albums, a lot of bands that were big in the 80's now say they don't want to make another [insert their popular album name here] album, or sound like they did in the 80's, but this song to me sounds like it's straight out of the 80's/early 90's, and it's awesome!

This is really ratt! Love it! Sounds just like where they left off unlike other bands from the same era. This is a four star of five song. Hopefully there will be a five star song from them soon.
The record label must not have invested a lot of money into making the video.
Case in point. The heavy set girl in the beginning of the video who is playing a security guard who was identified as Warrens sister is also seen in the crowd shots as a concert goer jumping up and down in the 2nd row in a few shots.
I'm surprised no money was spent on bringing in hot extras .. This is a Rock and Roll video so lets rock it out a little more next time.
Just watched the video again, and something occured to me... Warrens role in this video is pretty prominent. Reading all the press releases in the last month they all mention that Warren didnt write anything on this new album ..so I'm guessing the band gave him the extra face time as a way to make him feel more apart of things. Including his mother in the video was really cool, and I believe the security guard is his sister so thats cool too. ( sorry about my fat comment earlier)

but i'm disappointed,
in every ratt album i've noticed demartini's solo's are not loud enough.the mixing isnt good :(
the riffs blow away the solo's
The outro solo in this song is amazing :( it should have been givien a slight higher priority. I guess it is one of the main reasons that demartini is such an underrated guitar player.
The outro solo on back for more is classic.. but it fades out.. the volume level should be a bit higher.The solos should stand out in the song.

When making new albums, a lot of bands that were big in the 80's now say they don't want to make another [insert their popular album name here] album, or sound like they did in the 80's, but this song to me sounds like it's straight out of the 80's/early 90's, and it's awesome!

They are a band that stayed true to their style when regrouping and releasing new material. From what I've heard so far with this song, "Eat Me Up Alive", and "Lost Weekend", it's Ratt back in true form, and why should this formula be tampered with?

I grew up in LA in the early 80s, I remember Ratt's EP on TimeCoast being played on KNAC.
Cool tune, sounds like Reach For The Sky/Detonator style. But not early, kick-ass Ratt.
Without Robbin and Juan, it's not really Ratt. :(

** Update ** Pretty cool stuff. Friend works at Guitar Center on Sunset and Warren stops in quite often. Here's what Warren told him last week.
Warren has a passion for film so the Band let him direct & produce the music video so thats why it has a Warren slant to it.
Since Warren didnt write any music on the new album they allowed him to have more creative control.
Pretty cool stuff and perhaps they found the right formula. Carlos & Stephen write while Warren handles the videos.

it's a decent song, getting great airplay on planet rock radio too. i like it, might even buy the album, and i havn't bought a ratt lp since reach for the sky. which is more than 20 years ago

This is really ratt! Love it! Sounds just like where they left off unlike other bands from the same era. This is a four star of five song. Hopefully there will be a five star song from them soon.

I'm feeling the tune ..
The record label must not have invested a lot of money into making the video.
Case in point. The heavy set girl in the beginning of the video who is playing a security guard who was identified as Warrens sister is also seen in the crowd shots as a concert goer jumping up and down in the 2nd row in a few shots.
I'm surprised no money was spent on bringing in hot extras .. This is a Rock and Roll video so lets rock it out a little more next time.

Just watched the video again, and something occured to me... Warrens role in this video is pretty prominent. Reading all the press releases in the last month they all mention that Warren didnt write anything on this new album ..so I'm guessing the band gave him the extra face time as a way to make him feel more apart of things. Including his mother in the video was really cool, and I believe the security guard is his sister so thats cool too. ( sorry about my fat comment earlier)
