@Angieptsh Well, Sheryl Crow and her guitarist Doyle Bramhall II were there just to promote their album. They were not contestants. It's called promotional appearance, and as such it's not strictly subject to the rules and/or premises of the show.

@Angieptsh i would have to completely agree, lieteratly the first time i saw an insturment on that stage...kinda pissed me off, but it was a very nice and entertaining performance....especially Jerry :D

That was georgous, but I wish they had stayed all acapella! Or at least dropped out the guitars for a moment to just hear the voices. But it was still a wonderfully beautiful performance.
