  • are they slow growers i had mine for a year and a half and he still is very small about 7 inches he has a good diet and great water

  • can u buy a tank that isnt see through dumbass

  • thats no a 18 inch shark lol

  • My 14 yr old id shark is 19 in long in a 125 gal tank. He's the only one in it now just lost my 10yr old red oscar yesterday.I thnk i'll stick to small fish in the future!!

  • is an id shark good in a 117 gallon tank when its a adult ??

  • @busyZignal aim for a 1000 gallons, an id shark could grow to be 4 feet.

  • i have a 150 just for 4 cichlids n a gar bout to get a id shark

  • Can I put it in a ten gallon tank then when it gets bigger I'll put it in a 20/30 gallon tank

  • @234Beastyboy yes you can put it in there for a while....you will have to put it in a 30, 50, 100, 200, and more later on.

  • if you give them a big enough tank they will get up to 4 feet but not enough gallon tank they will die early sense of stunt

  • I have a ID shark that I just got thats about 2 inches in my 200 gallon 8ft long aquarium. How long before he gets to 12 inches?

  • wow 20 year and only 18inches long mines 2 years old and i got it at 1inch and now their 17 inches long and their only in a 230 and their still growing

  • ya the guy talking on this video is a freakin jackass

  • nice

  • 20 years old?! I have a 7 year old 26 incher, if that thing is 20 years old, then, you are a fish genius of the highest degree.

  • These fish get way way bigger (up to 4') they need at least a 300 gallon.. so have one ready. btw.. only their bodies get stunted, their internal organs continue to grow. if kept in a tank that is too small, this will be fatal.

  • my sharkey lived 18 years! great fish!

  • Mine didn't even live 4 days. I feel like I'm missing something about this kind of fish. Can't keep them alive.

  • @schreck425 You need to put them in water

  • @ilocospower Smartass :)

  • this guy sounds like an idiot...see through tank? thats a big fish etc...these guys are gigantic lmao monster hahahaha

  • I really messed up my ID shark, not knowing about their rapid growth and tank size,i bought one and had it in a 10 gallon tank!!! its about 2 yrs old and stayed at 6 inches.

  • omg dude i go to fin furn in feather in hanover for my fish thats pretty weird is there 1 in pits field to?

  • they r catfish, i went to petland today and the guy thought i was stupied then showed me that they were indeed a catfish

  • i have four of them in a 55 gallon,,they are 14 years old

  • it's not a f-ing paroon shark people! it's a bleeding iridescent catfish!! not shark! catfish! and it can reach up to 400lb and 5ft in length. Btw, they're right; that tank is not healthy and I would advise getting a larger one as soon as possible or they die a slow, painful death.

  • This is ridiculous. Iridescent sharks can not be kept in a 100 gallon tank! Let alone with more huge fish in it! They're stunted and that's not healthy.

  • no f in way hes 20 years cause paroon sharks can reach 500 lbs

  • it depends on tank size. its tank size stunted its growth. growth stunting does not cause life stunting

  • Pangasius catfish do not get stunted they will continue to grow regardless of tank size until they outgrow the tank. Do some friggin ressearch.

  • it does cuz growth stunting and i meant to say it does cause life stunting, they stop growing but their insides do, like goldfish. why dont you do some freakin resaearch and learn to spell.

  • agreed with wolfboy

i had two in a ten gallon tank not knowing they could grow to a massive size

making room for my tank i threw them in my koi pond

and one year later one is well over a foot

  • does anybody know a good website for info on these little guys?

  • My iridescent shark went from grey to having all fins bright red, what's going on?

  • ooh that happend to by balas i think ur ammonia might be to high mine died of that :'(

  • That could be it. He's all better now, all the red is gone. Now I'm trying to find him a new home! I don't know what made him sick. :(

  • This is actually rather common with Iridescent Sharks/Pangasius Catfish. It is thought to be a sign that the fish will begin to go through a rather rapid growth period. It is during this time that most people will lose their sharks as they have been sold the fish and not been told that they can grow to six inches in length and all too often die in aquariums that cannot house fish of that size. You may also find that the fish will not eat meaty foods such as bloodworm as readily as before.

  • Hi! Well it happened right at the same time that all the fish in my tank died. I was told maybe something was in the water that I used during the water change. Idk. He's happy now but since all my cichlids and clown loaches died I don't want to keep my whole tank running just for him. Thanks though!

  • Don't mention it. Good luck with what ever fishkeeping you choose to practice

  • there only small cuz they grow to the appropriate size 4 da tank then they stop

  • yea mine r 4months n they almost the same size as this one's

  • He did say they could get bigger but not in that tank. However mine was in a 75 gallon tank with 2 tiny koi he got 2ft then I had to sell him. I didnt want to get a bigger tank.

  • 20 years, and still small? I had mine for 5 years and it got 2ft !!

  • those sharks are tiny....go check out your public aquarium.lol

20years is probably BS...if they are that age, they're stunted...

  • ur right, those fishes can get that big in less than two year
