I saw this as a boy at the USA Pavillion at Expo '74, my family's first IMAX movie. This and "About Time" at the Washington State Pavillion made a big impression about the possibilities of cinema technology. Thanks for posting.
I saw this film 5 times in one day at Cedar Point in 1975. Still one of my favorite IMAX films. Superb musical score that really used all of the IMAX sound channels. I believe this is a lost film now, with maybe one print still in existence.
good memories from expo 74 in spokane. i was 8. this film really made an impressoin on my sister and me... "whatever happens to the earth, happens to the sons of the earth." we 've been repeating this quote ever since. just found this and sent it to my sis.
When will people get smart & start to be good stewards of what God has given us all. We has been aragant & its time to be smart & use better technology too. 18 mpg cars were around in the 1930's & they aren't any better all these years later.
I probably saw this film a dozen times or more on my $25 season pass to Expo '74; I was 19 at the time. First IMAX film I ever saw. It almost as though I remember every word and sound through the whole film. Thanks so much for bring this back after all these years!
I was 12 when I first saw this in Spokane's Expo. 35 years later, I can truly appreciate it again while fully understanding it. This film should be shown again to the world, just to say...Look how bad we were treating the world back then...now multiply that time 35 years!!
This was the first Imax film I ever saw. I remember my mother getting motion sick at the aerial scenes. And who could forget Chief Dan George scolding us all for our wasteful ways? Well, I guess everything old is new again. I wonder if Al Gore saw this film. Thanks for posting this stroll down memory lane to Expo 74!

This looks like one of the 16mm prints that were made for non-commercial distribution.
