  • I love how the meaning to this is so plain, but so many people can't hear it. That is why I love Flobots ;)

  • and then the evil sopa came and online music stoped

  • I like the pun in the description, its so god damn funny. (:

  • ive been looking for this version

  • sad song :(

  • @voimariinihik not rlly lol

  • ☺<---smiley face

  • This song brings me great memories from when I lived in Henderson, NV. Hanging out at Hooters, Timbers, Mr. D's, The Half Shell and Harley rides. Those were the times.

  • the lest he can do is have a unblery picture or change it to different pics

  • I can go fishing with no handle bar

  • @svetabozinovic04 Good God, man!

  • @TheFrostyDingo Only positive way, man. I wrote it 5 min before going fishing with friends on the fish you are calling a pike I think.

  • Aunt Dorthy can't spell penis.

  • @keeblerprodogy2 and you can't spell Dorothy.

  • Lovely tune : P

  • Can the "Top Comments" stop being rude, offensive and a shit attempt at making people laugh. Lets have something more intelligent and worth reading, instead of comparing the dislike bar to justin beibers tiny penus.

    Aunt Dorothy.

  • @Auntdorothy3 OHhh the irony

  • i tired to ride my bike with no handlebars....... its not easy,

  • I think this song means he can ride a bike with no handlebars...

  • @xKaixProductionsx No. it's about a child growing up from riding their bike and making comics and taking apart remotes to controlling missiles and being in a position of real power, being able to do almost anything. I think it could also be a message about pride, greed, and power. You go from bragging about small accomplishments and abilities to wanting more power and abilities (ex. being able to launch missiles or assassinate people at will).

  • @gtafreeek I think your thinking about this way too much. Its about 2 friends growing up and taking two different paths in life. (The two verses seperate these) but later they disagree and use whatever power they have to fight each other. Its not about gaining pride and power, its about how small decisions can ruin lives.

  • @AdventureQuestNerd02 I don't think theirs a meaning anymore. They made it just for us to make our own meanings.

  • omfg stop trying to find out what the song means. the only people who can understand a song are the ones who wrote it. end of story. keep your ideas and opinions to yourself for now please.

  • i like your statement. i had to put what i meant so people would stop nonsense arguements about they know what it means. i let them know what the singer told me about the song when i interviewed them a few years back in louisville for the fox

  • Okay guys listen up, he's making fun of famous people because they think they can do anything like end world hunger if people would participate in their groups or whatever and they think they can do anything but really they're just famous they're just a rapper they're just a rockstar

  • i can end the world in a holocaust

  • this song is becoming more and more relevant everyday and frankly its pathetic how greedy selfish and power hungry our government is

  • This song makes me tingley. . .

  • is this the vocal version ? it sounds alot better than it does on the actual video

  • I think what it's an allegory of America. Like how America started as a modest country. A real country. A sovereign country. Depending on how you see it, America becoming an incredible superpower so quickly and having the mentality it does now is what the foreshadowing in this is referring to. If we continue down the path we are, and the rest of the world is, the consequences may never be the same. Other than that, it's about America being run by the bankers and corporations.

  • look ma no hands!.

  • @leoelmosca i love this comment lol... total awesome..

  • 26 people wanted a music video.

  • ok..so if u ride ur bike with no handlebars then it will start protests and then death.....that doesnt even make any sense XD

  • @hwebb1100 It's about human potential and what we're capable of...

I hope you're joking with your comment...

  • @MrFoofighter91 i was joking and thanks for telling me what this is really about..

  • @MrTaliban97 Not really. This is from the Wikipedia site about the song

Jamie Laurie stated that the song "is about the idea that we have so much incredible potential as human beings to be destructive or to be creative."

  • Oh yeah props to the viola players! finally a modern song that appreciates string music!! ^.^

  • 25 people could not ride there bike with no handlebars....

  • viva la libert(-A-)d P(A)Z!!!!!

  • Lmfao i went outside after listening to this went on my BMX tried to ride with no handle bars while doing a trick, fell. now im sitting at home with a broken arm. xD

  • I tried to ride my bike with no handle bars before.... i crashed into a mailbox /:...

  • it's i CAN ride my bike with no handle bars and it's so easy to do

  • To me, this song is about all the potential power one person can have or not have. It is like a snowball effect.. First you start out with something really simple and innocent, such as riding a bike with no handlebars. People improve though. Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. A sense of good and evil is shown through.

  • You know what I get out of this song?

Everyone grows up together, we all have the same simple thoughts with the very same ability to accomplish whatever the hell we want, we can all reach out to millions in one arm length or be that person that made a difference.

But at the end of the day, we all started off the same, striving to ride our bike with no handlebars.

  • I think the song is about how the goverment is corrupt and does stuff that put the public in harms way. encourage terroism. put a innocent man to death even tho they know hes innocent. which is why it say i can lead a nation with a microphone they can tell us anything and we would belive. the atom thing is the nuclear bomb. then after that it talks about more corruption and then refers to the holocaust that was started by a goverment figure.

  • Its wreckless.

  • The song is about saying how people can do anything they want if they set their mind to it.

  • @unityofchoas actually its about dictatorship and how it ruins peoples lives and country

  • @HANCHO97 ACTUALLY its most DEFINATELY about people being able to do anything they want that they can achieve anything if they set their mind to it and keep trying.

  • @unityofchoas good point.. but the original theme is about dictatorship

  • @unityofchoas i guess it can be about anything if you think about it

  • I think it's about a guy leading a revolution. He's showing just how great and talented he is. He starts off minor, but moves on to serious stuff like his dreams of leading a nation and helping with great scientific breakthroughs... I think it progresses his story as he advances through his mission of control and changing the world as it is (getting rid of famine and helping people). But by the end he becomes power obsessed with power and doesn't know what to do with it whether good or evil.

  • im pretty sure this song is saying im tallented world you want the tallent come get it or a hollacost will fallow

  • @ultimatefisherman07 Another way to look at it. But, again, the answer this song portrays depends on the individual who listens to it. It can be viewed in many lights, and debating only one point of view in the abstract will only serve to piss us both off unnecessarily, especially since I vehemently disagree with you on the part of hypocrisy and American Dream. Until Flobots discusses the song, it's open for interpretation. Cheers.

  • Flobots represents what is almost good in America.

  • I find handlebars to be rather shallow and pedantic

  • @danmonsterhog yes, shallow and pedantic

  • moral of the story is if in adult in a suit and in normal clothes ride a bike with out handlebars a holocost will happen

  • 21 people cant ride without handlebars

  • THANK YOU This is the version i was looking for! the other one had a diffrent beats, but i prefer this version better. THANK YOU FOR POSTING IT!!! :D

  • 21 people cant rule the nation with a microphone

  • sad song remererys.

  • I can totally ride my bike with no handlebars.. just think of the possibilities that lie ahead! muhuhuahahahaha!

  • how the fuck do u dislike this?

when i die im going to ask god so many questions, and not the obvious ones like "whats the meaning to life" thats 42, duh...

  • 21 people are lame as hell, are lame as hell, are lame as hell.

  • @Xz0mb1eHunt3rX Yeah, they are!!!

  • @Xz0mb1eHunt3rX Me:mom do we have any shotguns?

    Mom:why?

    Me:THERES 26 people who dislike #Flobots-Handlebars

Mom:ill get the gatlin gun! ☻

  • Boiled down, to me, this song is about how power corrupts, and how a power-hungry nature can start with something so simple.

  • I MET THIS GUYS

  • Ride your bike without handle bars pussys!

  • 21 people fall from their bike

  • its about the corprate world its basicly what ob@m@ and bush did/are doing facist bastards.

  • You guys do know this song isnt even about a bike it is about changeing::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::Do not reply to comment Brothers account

  • @zmgvids replied :[]

  • peace sells... but whos buying

  • @jonorancid : Megadeath?

  • favorite song of all time

  • Worst Flobots song. Ironically the only one to be commercialised...

    Mayday for the win!

  • @max24790

Yeah, I think that happens with a lot of bands. Fortunately most of their songs are pretty awesome.

  • @max24790 FINALLY XD

  • Whats Metronome??

Im not from English or American thats why i dont no.

  • @Mentran A metronome is used to count the beat during songs :)

  • @Mentran England ****

English is a language not a country

And also say america don't put an n on the end

American is the people that come from America.

and the metronome is used to keep a rhythm

aka used to count beats during song many beginner guitarist use one

  • @jamesplaysguitar1 *an American is someone from America, American alone isnt quite gramaticly alright . so make sure that if you go piss on someone for his grammar youre doing it good as wel ;)

  • it is about 2 friends that take separate paths, one leading a free life, and the other taking the corporate path, the first verse is the free man talking about how great his life is, but then after that it's just the corporate man, first starting out innocent, but then escalates to a climax of an innocent kid that becomes a corrupt powerful man. moral of the story? in the end, corporations are always corrupting people that were pure to begin with, and turning them into controlling drones.

  • @100pillspillslol i just saw the vid and it made sense it true and at the end friend that took the corporate path took control of what seem like the nation and the one who took the free path revolted against him and he got killed...............makes sense

  • i think this song teaches you not to ride your bike with no handlebars cause you will fall down and get hurt

  • @yhmmot

Yeah, if you do, you can make the planet end in a holocaust. :[

  • @yhmmot LIES! i used to build bikes and took the handle bars off and rode around using the fork to turn lol. Don't let it touch your knuckles cause it hurts.

  • @yhmmot Stop being weak. And ride your bike without handle bars.

  • @yhmmot That would be a matter of opinion based on one's experience of life. For me, it means I can do anything I want if I really wanted to, or you can just ride your bike normally getting from point a to point b. And if you don't use handlebars, you have a chance of getting hurt, but then as you fall off, you can look around at the houses, trees, ocean instead of focusing on your bike.

  • @AnubisEye009 man thats deep never saw it like that before

  • man thats deep never saw it like that before

  • @AnubisEye009 Oh, Flobots. Quit inspiring nerds to be funny.

  • @BenWhoFleck Oh the irony of your comment

  • @AnubisEye009 It's about taking a risk?

  • @yhmmot it's kinda liek that, but not exactly. i see where you're going tho. It's really to teach that even if you become the greatest person ever, you can still be hurt anyway. It does make sense, you were just kinda thinking straight to the song :3

  • i loooooooooooveeeeeeeeeeee this song i can listen to it the wholeday

  • this mayb a dumb question, but i downloaded the album artwork off itunes and it gave me the album cover for fight with tools, but i saw in a youtube video a cover that said flobots- Handlebars with a bike on it, so which 1 is it from...? lol a dumb question..

  • @zakattk001

It's a single, it has it's own cover art.

Put the "Album" as "Handlebars - Single" or you can just keep it as is.

It doesn't matter which you choose, it's still on the album.

  • @fRaNkIeRoIsLoVe222 oh, ok thanks u just cleared things up a lot for me:D

  • @zakattk001

  • these dudes are awesome, but does the song sound dfferent to anyone? hmm might be my computer...

  • @EatSomeApplePie YESS IT DOES! doesnt the holocaust part sound different!?

  • yeah man this version sounds a little diffrent than others. the voices seem more flat

  • yeah thats what I said way-back when,it's like

    they have no expression.

    FUCK ALL THE SPEELING CORETORS!!AAGAGAHG!

  • He's trying to say power is good but it gets to your head. Thats why he starts out doing little good thing. He gains power but once he gets on top the power gets to him and he feels that because he is the greatest, he can do whatever he wants. Good or Bad.

  • Damn that might be the best explanation of this song I've heard so far. Good shit.

  • dude this song is amazing but this 1 is just a str8 up song this 1 not recorded in a studio lik the real music video is but it still is good

  • this song is kind of weird i like it

  • is this remixed? the voice has no expression and it normaly does

  • Comment removed

  • the music video explains a whole lot more then the song

  • NICE SONG

  • "i like it cos its rap." WOW you sir should be euthanized immdeiately.

  • Hey, there are countries run by stupidity. Plus, stupid people can make for hours of fun.

  • hhhahahahhahahah, Ledgendary comment XD

  • ahahaha that made me laugh.. i like it because its rap :L but some people just dont have any incite to whats happening around them :P no need to mock them.. or atleast to their face :L

  • I am a music teacher and have herd many of my pupils listen and sing this song in my class, and i think the song needs to have a thicker texture, the lyrics are very cleverly wrote because it is connecting child hood with the line "i can ride my bike with no handlebars" with adult hood with many lines, for example "i can split the atom of a molurcure" (excuse my spelling) overall i think this song has a good morale and has a mature melody, but has room for inprovement. written by Jonathan.

  • yeah its molecule mate, when atoms come together they form a molecule, and i think hes talking about atom bombs in that line. but yeh good point in general

  • i know what a molecule is, thank you, and yeh thats what i was trying to get across hard to explain :P but yeh, at first i didnt know if i liked the song or not but then after hearing it many times it grow on me and now i quite like the song!

  • aha yeah i know. i listened to it and wasnt sure... but now i probably listen to it atleast once a day. even if im not listening to the song i enjoy the video because it has meaning.

  • What type of music "teacher" spells heard "herd".
