  • it isn't what she sings - it is the way she sings it.

  • I love her voice, it is absolutely beautiful but I think she needs to pay more attention to her languages. I have sung this song and there are several mistakes in the pronunciation.

  • Why is everyone arguing while the lovely girl is singing?

  • @Delilahdida I don't think that she can hear us. D

  • Is that french??? They could have paid her a French course together with her contract :)

  • @webloguita When working on the album "Wonderland" Faryl was provided with a french language coach. When the final recording was made if he wasn't satisfied with her sung french pronunciation he would have done something about it. The late great Sacha Distel, as french a frenchman that you could ever meet, said that he preferred to sing in english because the nasal and gutteral sounds of french made singing beautifully difficult and it did not sound pleasant. Get an education.

  • @mike04535 I am obviously not the one that should get an education, I know french and many other languages, that's why I have made the comment, what she sings does not sound like french. I don't know why you tell me about Sacha Distel, that was not the topic (maybe he just said that to sell more tickets in UK or US ;-), and I think french it's a lovely language and if pronounced like it should, it's romantic and sensual. Get a french course and you will discover it!!

  • @wbloguita I have no intention of learning french. What I said was that when she was learning this song for recording in the studio she was coached by a native french speaker. Not a dutch french speaker like yourself. I trust that this wide range of languages at which you claim you are an expert.you speak with the perfect pronunciation of the native speakers. Yes? No? I thought not. Which hardly qualifies you to comment on the french pronunciation of a native english speaker does it?

  • First of all I am not dutch, and for your information, all professional singers must have a 'decent' pronunciation in the languages they perform, how could people otherwise understand what they sing? It's not only music, it's words! Any professional singer must take language lessons, not only a one-off for a recording. But I did not mean to offend or something like that, I just wrote my opinion, why otherwise you allow people to leave a comment? But you took it personally! Are you family of her?

  • @webloguitaFirst of all don't try to teach granny how to suck eggs. I have probably been round the proverbial block many more times than you have. You entered this discussion not with a musical comment but with a cutting smart arse remark about Faryl's french. Do you expect that she should spend her entire school career learning french so that she can sing one bloody song in it to your satisfaction? You are not a native english nor french speaker so I pay little heed to your comments

  • @mike04535 The two of you, HUSH!

French IS more difficult to sing due to the slurs and harsh "r" that they use, but if trained properly it can be overcome. Even more so if you're not French to begin with (accents and all). I've sung in English, Italian, Spanish, French and German - the latter two being the hardest to sing due to the way words are pronounced.

My experience? Being classically trained in voice, as well as being a native English and secondary French speaker.

  • @WorldPhoenix1 You have not sung in those languages with perfect diction, pronunciation and accent. I have yet to hear an opera singer who is not a native english speaker sing in english with perfect pronunciation and accent. It is impossible. So why would anyone, like you, with a secondary knowledge of foreign languages expect a 15 year old schoolgirl to be able to sing in a foreign language like a native?

  • @mike04535 Way to not read what I said. Actually, on the COMPLETE contrary, I was saying that it's impossible for someone to have everything down perfect when it's not their native language. It can be overcome, but I didn't say perfected. As I said, when you're not a native French speaker, for instants, it can be challenging as you don't have the French accent, and you're not used to the diction of the language resulting in imperfection.

  • @mike04535 As a side note, I NEVER said I have sung in those languages perfectly. Don't make up words that were never there to begin with.

  • Superb! I've been watching Faryl's progress over the years and she's simply incredible. She has also turned into a stunning young lady.

  • She has a beautiful voice, and a face to match!

  • lovely ... just lovely
