  • Oh how I still love this playthrough... <3

  • cocky little freaks!

  • o just a litile info at 3:55 the red suit moveing fast if a refens to Char From Mobile Suit Gundam who also polited a red suit that moved at 3 times the spead of the normil mobile suits

  • @Cyberleader2002 I'm guessing the blue one was Ramba Ral in that case

  • The mechs in this level remind me of Zakus from Mobile Suit Gundam.

  • @Agent1W Oh also, the last boss. Well, he does sound like he has an accent from that area.

  • @Agent1W I actually thought more of the GMs.

There's a whole bunch of them, and they exist to be blown up.

  • when i went up peppy yelled out i'll take care of everything.. falco bla bla bla

  • Here cones Char!

  • 1:39 In the 3DS port Slip says: 'Something's wrong. I don't see the enemy fleet.'

  • Love the use of BSG music! I knew just about every song used here except for the last one.

  • How do you get 100 grants?

  • Why the hell does Slippy's voice sound phenonem? O_o

  • heh i always wondered why they move the wings out in all range mode in SPACE!

  • you're freaking hilarious dude. you should do more starfox videos w/ commentary LOL.

  • You can kill those missiles that you were trying to shoot, but you need friggin' bombs :/

  • andross has mobile suit teams deployed in sectory Y

  • 1800? fucking serial killer lol

  • lol at the start. And the rest of the vid

  • I think Fox is talking about the squadron of Cornerian battleships you fly past in the beginning of the level. You repel the initial Venomian assault and then spearhead a counter attack deep into enemy lines. Destroying 100 enemies ensures the Cornerians can mop up and you don't /have/ to help Katina.

  • When I first played this level as a kid the first thing that came to mind was Gundam Wing. Probably why it was one of my favorites.

  • love the text commentary dude. awesome vid.

  • Alright, I just could swear your charge shots pop up really fast. I guess its just me :P

  • How do you get your charge shots so fast?

  • @Bubblefig What do you mean?

Sometimes I fire charge shots by accident without really any charge-up time, so I'm not too certain myself.

  • I don't know if anyone told you, but the Team heads for Aquas because they backed up the squadron (the Cornerian starships). If you don't get 100 points, then you "fail" to back up the squadron and must back up the Katina outpost, which if you DID get 100 kills gets backed up by the starships you just saved.

  • is it sad that i recognized the galactica music before the credits? or am i just a nerd?

  • this level reminds me a little bit of gundam wing lol...

  • I believe that those missiles and background mechs can, in fact, be taken out. Just fire a bomb at 'em. I always do that to net myself some extra points on this level, makes getting the medal a little easier.

  • When this game came out, I actually thought all those blocks looked like pretty well-rendered starships. Of course, this was *way* before when Homeworld came out.

  • @se7en00110111 Yeah that's probably why graphically Star Fox 64 aged pretty well, since all of the models are of space ships they don't need to be particularly complex.

And that reminds me, I have had Homeworld sitting on my desk for some time now and I keep forgetting to play it.

  • @se7en00110111 well they were well rendered, for the time

  • how to u get to sector y?

  • the robot's face at 1:10 reminds me of ALF

  • i find it cool the music from battlestar galactica is playing as hes fliying in the ar-wing

  • I find it funny that when you use a bomb the video glitches for a second. XD

  • Not only Mechs... Freaking Gundam wannabes.

  • Help how the hell do u get to this can u give me detailed directions to get to sector Y!!!

  • the squadron fox is talking about in the beginning are the ships you pass as you start controlling your fighter

  • The Cornerian fleet is actually the large objects resembling debris floating in space at the start of the level.

That's just how badly the fleet is losing...

  • Where is the secret boss on cornaria?! Help!

  • @Brettbowden26 gamefaqs dot com

  • @concordat Actually , the Cornerian Army is hiding. That's why you cannot see any of them. Now , if you get 100(Or more , of course) they can take care of the other ships and go to Katina instead of you. If not , you have to go to Katina while they get killed. Barrel Roll.

  • @Brettbowden26 After you save falco go under all the arches in the water and dont boost then follow falco

  • holy shit. i never knew slippy was a guy! i always thought it was a she. maybe i need to do more research on star fox... (unless you just mistyped)

  • 2:32 That's what she said! >_>

  • 3:20

Why'd they run away? Because they knew that you were the Goddamned Batman.

  • Concordat, I enjoyed your amusing playthroughs of Star Fox 64/Lylat Wars very much, and I like it that you insert different (but equally appropiate) music in each stage, and give comical text-commentary along with it. Plus, you show to us in stages with different objectives what happens when you fail the supposed mission.

Too bad this didn't got that many views over the past 3 years, since it really deserves as such.

  • @EvilMoonwulf I just wish I still had the raw recordings, so I could remake a sort of "HD" version of these using something besides Windows Movie Maker.

  • @concordat hey just thought i'd inform you taht those things that fly @ you at the 1:53 mark CAN be destroyed...but it'd be a waste cuz they can only be destroyed by ur bombs so theres really no point in killing them

  • As for the Cornarian squadron, they're the tanks you pass at the start and don't see again until the finish. I believe they stay behind you away from the combat like useless faggots the entire time.

  • as a mecha fan, New Jersey Accent Boss makes me disappoint.

  • 2:32 thats what she said :D

  • i recently got access to the landmaster in vs mode, but the maze to get out of andross' base is total bs, i ran into a brick wall so it took me 2 tries to get out T^T

  • @Fox5975 You gotta boost constantly to keep James in sight, but not so much that you get too close to him so you can't react to his turns.

  • @Fox5975 how do you get to y sector its my fav

  • "Hey, Einstein, enemy shield analysed!"

    LOL

  • lol the musick at the end sounds like the theme from battle star glatager

  • Falco: HEY EINSTEIN-

    Slippy: Enemy shields analyzed.

Slippy can't shoot, AND interrupted falco.

  • cocky little freaks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is just an idea, but I think the reason those wings moved is because the thrusters on the tips will have more effect on the rotation of the ship if they're farther out, now, I'm a bit tired (4 AM and all that) So this may be utter crud.

  • i cant get the the 100 Fucking Points!!!!!!!

    im so pissed off!

    Gimme Some Tips!

Its so hard using an Emulator!!!

  • @thewizkid15 I'm guessing you are using a keyboard? You really need something with a joystick for this game.

  • @concordat So, how do you turn off the sound on an emulator-embedded Xbox(original)?

  • @zehawk It is in the audio menu in the game, so it doesn't matter what is running it.

  • o man cmon an Emulator is easy and if u cant get 100 points u better use cheats ¬¬

  • @YTmoonlight what you mean by cheats looked for cheats and couldn't find any

  • @thewizkid15

do u gott an emulator wich one????

  • wait Wtf??? i trying to get to aquas... at 4:06 i get falco saying that i can do better and i only missed 1 mech. how da heck do i get mission accomplished??? PLZ HLP

  • @Pivottrentoji333 live hard. score harder.

  • Cocky little freaks!!

  • Why's Fox's face there?

  • epicness

  • the red one goes 3 times faster

  • looks like japan lost with there suprisingly gay mechs

  • Why would battle mechs be retarded from a military standpoint though?

  • @IkeOfTheBlueFlames When on the scale of buildings, they would be gigantic and expensive targets that could be easily hit by significantly cheaper aircraft bombs or artillery from great distances. When on the scale of a tank, they have significantly more surface area and moving parts, making them have overall less armor and be much more vulnerable to damage and malfunction. They'd also have a taller profile than a tracked or wheeled vehicle.

In space there's just no reason at all.

  • @concordat

"When on the scale of buildings,"

I'm guessing you're aware of the mechas from Votoms, then?

But yeah, it would be mighty expensive to make loads of them.

  • 6:43 Ya, I do not know why they would come up with these stupid mechs, it's rediculas as to how they would work.

  • whoa, whoa, whoa. can you save your progress? i thought you had to do it all in one clean sweep.

  • @DBuilder No. It's called video editing.

  • i think this game is better than assult because you can take any path you want.:)

  • i found out that on the robot mechs before the main guy in the white one, if you can hit them with smart bombs it destroys them in one blow, AND you still get the bonus points for them. :)

  • isn't there a path split in sector x aswell cause i remember i went left instead of right

  • There is. You can go in 3 directions in Sector X and 2 In Meto. They both have warps.

  • can someone explain what retros are?

  • Short for retrograde rocket. I was probably using the wrong word.

  • COCKY LITTLE FREAKS!

  • 6:20 "Slippy's hit!" *mech explodes*

6:32 "Dang! I'm hit!" *another mech explodes*

Umm, guys...Are you sure you know what side you're on?

  • oh man your commentary cracks me up and good choice in music!

  • Haha, when Peppy, Falco and Slippy were in formation, Peppy was shot, and he... did a barrel roll.

  • With The Rockets, You Can Attack Them With Bombs.

  • Thats the best Star Fox game ever made in my books i loved playin that game i wish i had a 64 i would play it again.

  • you can hit the missiles at the beginning and you got points for them

  • Lol at the beginning.

  • Getting 100 grants you access to Aquas because you complete the mision. By killig 100 enemies, you effectively weaken the Venomian forces enough for the Cornerian ones to finish the job, stupid I know.

  • LoooL. I saw all of these videos a year ago and they still never get old. ;D

  • @HisDivineShadow245 They're old but GOLD.

A lot better than the standard "Let's play videos" and the microphone fail extravaganza.

  • i thing in katina was , is look like the war of the movie "independence day", with all the alien a ships flying

  • Actually, extending the wings would have the effect of decreasing the resultant average rotational velocity per unit of acceleration. It's analogous to the situation where an ice-skater may extend or retract her arms to decrease or increase her rotational speed. In the case of a ship, it would have a stabilizing effect for rotations along the axis parallel to the wings. Of course, whether that would actually be useful in a strategic, non-trivial way, is up for debate. . .

  • @Zeuts85 Wings serve absolutely no purpose in space. (The space shuttle has them for re entry of the atmosphere)

Space = no friction and vacuum

No friction and vacuum = no drag or lift.

No drag or lift = nothing but thrusters needed.

The Arwing's design would imply it to be only able to fly well in air, not space. In space it could only go forward and not turn at all because it only has that one thruster. Flaps require air to maneuver the plane. There is no air in space.

  • @Atomic2110 I'm well aware of that. My argument that the wings could potentially do something for the ship is independent of whether or not there is air. Disregard the fact that they are "wings," and simply think of them as levers. Extending them alters the relative distribution of mass. I'm not saying that it's a good design, or even necessary. I'm just saying that wings in space can do SOMETHING. However, they could be replaced by metal rods for the same effect.

  • @Zeuts85 what?

  • @LiefWolfsbane Type in "figure skating spins physics" into google, and follow the first link that appears at the top of the page. That is what I was attempting to explain.

  • @Zeuts85 Legit physics there, my friend. I have a question: does this apply in zero-gee?

  • @POMEGRENADE451 Thanks. And yes, absolutely. =)

  • @Zeuts85 ...oh I get it now... wait what.

  • Thanks for the vid. ^_^

I got to Zoness thanks to the vid. ^_^

Peppy died on one of the satellites, but why do I care. XD Every time when I have to choose a path, I go with Falco. ^_^

There are times I tell slippy to shut up. XD

  • Did any body even get that refernce

  • Evidenced by the start of the video, I can assume that Andross pilot's where in the same position of Zeon at the end of the One Year War. The pilots were newbies who couldn't aim for shit. I mean evidenced by the later games, even andross got fed up with how stupid his pilots were and gave up the Mech Program all together.

Though if the arwing hits a fist, should the arwing go backwards? Unless the Arwing is using some fucking powerful plasma engine, the fist should of gone pushed the arwing.

  • And of course there would be at least more force due to the mech moving. So I think it shows that the mechs weren't bad idea to use. Just the pilots being retards.

  • abloo bloo bloo

  • lol, I kinda realized that punching would be retarded in space due to the hand not taking the force of impact, and that's why mechs would have some sort of melee weapon.

But Mechs are mechs and are not viable for our current state of world. That much I know.

I should pull out SF64 again.

  • Comparing Gundam to SF (and rl physics) is ridiculous despite the fact that the mechs are references to the series.

Pretty much EVERY enemy in the game had shitty aim (except on expert mode, which they had slightly better aim (also add to the fact they spammed lasers faster then normal)).

Mechs are effective but impractical. But they do make a comeback in Assualt albeit more so in limited production by Andrew's forces (though also a lot more powerful then the previous models).

  • This is why fighters like the arwing come through not those big expensive hard to use mobile suits, Admiral Halberton was wrong!!!

  • howcan you skp level one... i alwayss play itt

  • When do those mech bosses try to punch you? I thought they just flew around and shot at you about every 20 seconds.

  • Retro rockets would be pointless on the wings. What would be necessary on the fighters to be able to do much of what you see them do is micro-thrusters all over the body of the ship. Its the same problem on all space-born fighters

  • What I meant. Used the wrong word. Whatev

  • But yes, fighters would be a lot better than mechs in the long run.

  • y do u fired unaimed charged shots all the time?

  • There's a glitch that gives you an extra point for a hit with an unaimed charge shot.

  • how do u get to Sector Y?

  • watch the 1st

  • "TIME TO DIE, BITCH" haha! Love your comments!

  • I like your style, really : )

  • Comment removed

  • "HEY EINSTEIN IM ON YOUR SIDE!"

  • you can hit the little missile things with a well aimed charge shot but u cant lock it on

  • Hey concordat its me again. I watched my friend play this game yesterday and it turns out you can take down the mechs in the background at 3:18 but that means wasting your bombs, just to point that out.

I already rated the vid 5/5 the first time I saw it, but now I give it 1,000/5.

  • The robots look like flying power rangers

  • you were lucky with your version of the boss, whnever i fight him, he jumps and boosts around like hell, i always take him out on the ship or when his health is down to a really slim amount, he crashes into me and blows himself up

  • COCKY LITTLE FREAKS!

  • this game brings back a lot of memories!

  • Nice vidya.

    Also BSG Musikz ftw.

  • My high score's better. 1847.

  • Well woop-dee-doo for you! Sheesh.

  • I think those ships you pass by in the beginning ARE the Cornerian fleet.

  • thats what she said to everything your teammates say

  • I think the way you get to Aquas is when Peppy says "You're becoming a better pilot", (have over 100 kills at that point). If you don't, Falco will say "Is that the best you can do"

  • But how do you GET to sector y?

  • Make sure Falco survives on Corneria, go through all of the arches during the second half of the level and follow him through the water fall.

Once you get past the water fall and out to the sea, a boss appears. Take out the boss and you're good.

  • watch his video on cornaria.

  • Your comments make this entertaining to watch. Funniest line in all these videos, "Oh no you didn't just shoot that green isht at ME!"

  • Man, those comments of yours are halarious, concordat - pointing out everything, including Slippy's obliviousness, and about who's going to pay for all of the damage.

  • Amazing choice of music concordat <3 also I know how you feel about the perspective during the last couple of minutes. I would have thought they'd fix that when it was put on the market via shop channel :/ *sigh*

  • That's no zaku, boy. Do you hear me? No zaku!

  • Im pretty sure Im not the first to ask this but what are Retros?

  • Retro is short for retrograde rocket. They are small rockets on spacecraft that 'provide thrust opposing the motion of a spacecraft, thereby causing it to decelerate.'

There's no air in space, so deploying the flaps and air brakes would do nothing. They never refer to the brakes as "retros" in this game, but they did in the SNES game.

  • Just reminded me of Peppy on SNES Starfox--"Retros! Fire retros!!"

  • So THAT'S what he meant! NOW I know at last!

Also, for some reason "in case you didn't know what game this is" made me lol hard.

And thanks for the music credits so I only realised I shouldn't have asked one vid AHEAD of this one what song was what XD I'm a retard.

  • Well to be accurate, deploying air brakes would do SOMETHING, but it would be so minuscule as to be irrelevant except over enormous distances.

  • Yeah man, BSG music with star fox is awesome!

  • Excellent combination!

  • slippy is a girl

  • While replaying this level for the first time in several years, I found this out of nowhere message from ROB64 telling me good luck...WTF??? Can anyone explain that?

  • That only happens on Expert mode.

  • Just some easter egg or something?

  • Pretty much, yeah.

  • I just figured out how to get from Sector Y to Sector Z. Hope this helps for people. K here it goes; Corneria to Sector Y. Instead of Aqua go to Katina. then Katina to Sector X. Then in Sector X take the warp path to Sector Z.

  • Why don't you just go to Sector Z over Aquas and Zoness?..

  • I never said I didnt want to go to Sector Z over Aquas and Zoness. Im just giving people a little tip on how to get to places in the game. And if you ever noticed The sectors are like an alphabet. I didnt noticed it until I took those paths.

  • Ahhhh, the gumdans...

  • i finished this game more than 18 times and every one used to be jealous

  • say... is this an emulation or on the actual N64 console?

  • Console. Emulators don't have slowdown and the pink/blue engine flares are more transparent.

  • This level's fun to me. Wish the boss was harder, though. That "big bad mech" boss was a wimp.

  • the first song in the beggining of the level is Prelude to war, from the BSG soundtrack.

  • how did you save your game?

  • I didn't..

  • wow, I can see what's exploding in the real N64 version. :D

  • Nice to see Star Fox fighting a bunch of Zakus and Gouffs

  • i could never beat this level and continue on the b path. i always went to the a path

  • hey, really nice

i loved this game so much...i played it everyday i think

but i never know, how i can come from the first planet to sector y can you told me please?

    nice work, go on

  • On the first planet.

You need to keep Falco alive.

You need to fly through the arches on the water.

  • Mobile Suit pilots in this level: "Its the Arwing!!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! *gets annihilated by the sheer power of the mobile armor known as the Arwing*

Those mobile suits in this level look like they could be GM Commands.

  • Yeah, falco's always sarcastic. It's like he's voiced by Jack DeSena or something.

  • falco reminds me of blue from R/B/Y

  • btw how did u get that title screen?

  • All medals on
