not a big Psychedelic Furs fan but I like this song. 30 years now. Lets all go back to 82 and warn the people of WTC, The economic Bubble downfall, tablet, blackberry devices and cell phones shrinking testies, The 2% shrinking to 1% and the whole Mayan thing! or we can see what happens in the next 30 years. If we all make it till then.
reminds me of that grand theft auto game i played and this song played in the cars. calmed me down. still shot people and stuff but the ride was very enjoyable
I was 18 when this came out & intometal but, still liked it as the music scene had loads of variety with metal, new wave, dance, basic rock etc amazing how it all existedtogether as each camp made its way on the charts & sold well. The bassist here plays the hell out of his bass as I've listening thru H.phones. Singer is a bowie clone in ways with a unique tone.New wave was more creative than metal (less limiting) inmy opinion.
Bowie was a fan of this song, and included this in this list of favorites in 1983. He even copped the xylophone riff for Loving The Alien; listen and compare.
!980's -pack up a bunch of misunderstood and or non-sensical lyrics and make a beautiful song with deep meaning. Today- make a auto-tuned, fully understood song with where the lyrics make perfect sense but mean nothing at all and have no depth or beauty what so ever.
Glam rock without the glam. Genuinely weird, but hauntingly appealing at the same time. The band's name was a bit of a contradition to the times. Most Brit rockers drop the accent when they sing - hat's off to pronoucing the word "face" like "ice" with an "f" in front. Not sure on what plane or in which dimension Butler was on or in when he wrote the lyrics to the Firs's songs, but it really doesn't matter. This one has to be one of the "Essential Eighties".
I think Richard's voice blows away Bowie's and in Love Spit Love too... Bowie is great, and Butler is as well. Two different styles actually. I like the brooding nature of Psy Furs, and Butlers haunting voice, it echo's in my mind forever. I miss the 80's yall!
I saw The Psychedelic Furs at George R. Brown Convention Center in the 80's in high school, and the crowd broke through and rushed against the stage. Somehow, I got crushed up against the stage right in front of Richard Butler, and I thought it was the greatest thing to get to touch his boots! LOL!!!
The PSYCHEDELIC FURS So ahead of their time Below comment. You are an idiot. How do you think they made all that great music. The only arse is you!!!!
I was once addicted to the Furs like Richard Butler was/is addicted to heroin. "Forever Now,' will always be forever now one of the best albums ever recorded. "Love My Way" is probably my fav Furs song. P.S. I met Richard Butler in person and he's a complete ass or arse as you Brits call it. And his brother Tim tried to swallow my tongue. "Lots of fun!" BTW if you look at Richard's eyes you can tell he's high on something hardcore.
@MrBennyboi1990 I was born in 1972 and this song still rocks. It's been almost almost 30 years since it release. Anyways glad to hear you have an appreciation for older music.

Being a teenager in the 80's was the best time to be a teenager. You who were born in the 80's MISSED out on all the awesome music/lifestyle/culture...but you are better off than today's teenagers.
@chuckamok12 I have to say I agree with chuck... as a rule the music in the '80's was mass-produced shite. Stock, Aitken & Waterman have a lot to answer for in my opinion. That said there were some true gems amongst all the crap ... you just had to look bloody hard!
truly an 80's classic. I was born in 1982 It does me proud to find out such a classic came out on the year I was born, that was an awesome year I hear
I always liked this song—and not because it’s some “gender blender” thing. Music never affected me on that level anyway. I never could care less what Freddie Mercury or Elton John did in their dressing rooms.
OMG! This song is just so awesome! One of the best to come out of the 80's! This guy has a sexy type of voice. I think that helps make the song so cool! :-) God how this song takes me back to the days of when roller skating was still cool. I would skate to this at the rink or around the block with my walkman! Oh to feel that carefree and alive again. I had so many fun times and crazy times then. The 80's were the best! :-D I just love the 80's so much! God how I miss it too! :-(
This song was released in early 1982; I was a Senior in High School and working very hard on thoroughly ruining my life! I never truly recovered and it now officially sucks to be me! Still love this song though! LOL!
I didn't hear this song until 1993, a pivotal time in my life. Absolutely love this song. I thought it was new song back then but... looking at the video it screams 80s.
@Chelz4AdrianGD You know... I've never noticed how much he sounds like David Bowie. He really does. Love this song though. For those of you who have not heard Korn's cover of this search it up on here.
@ApothakarY There seems to be a lack of stereo separation. I don't think this is the fault of the user, but more to do with the video itself. If I remember correctly, this video was originally produced in mono. I have a radio promo 12" demo sampler I'll upload in the next few days and it's stereo!

Whilst shopping in a generic supermarket amongst the commercial dross on the loud speaker this gem sounded out. I nearly fell to the floor and wept, thankyou music gods, there is hope.................
I hear this song in the supermarket, that's probably how I first heard it, it's just a good song, no one cares nor is impressed that we were not born when it was released
New Wave and New Romantic movements weren't so very far apart as people like to think; both were inspired by a fear of imminent nuclear war and the socio-economic degradation of the Western powers. What have we got now...? No more Cold War & Quick-Fix Globalist Consumerism. What's the music today? Doof-doof, boom-boom with Gaga-GooGoo lyrics. No real angst, no real vision for tomorrow. Nothing intelligent to say; nothing musically worth remembering. Gen Z... prove me wrong, I challenge you.
Somebody tell me...this is some kind of ''psychedelic''music like 60???i mean the name???this music is like psychedelic rock and roll or what???i'm into metal and hairbands but i like this song
@metalheart4u9 Nope, not psychedelic rock, by any means. This is 80s new wave/post punk music. You should definitely delve deeper into those sub-genres. You may be surprised how good it is.
Thanks to SonySME for singlehandedly nuking half the videos in my playlists, so I have to add their new ones and those by other uploaders and waste time updating them again, since they won't be doing it for me. Also, thanks for blocking a few in the process, so I get stuck with cruddy album covers (or in the case of Dylan, nothing) to replace them. I guess I will just hold off on replacing my vinyls with CD's for awhile, even though I don't have a record player. Who's with me?
A forgotten GEM

Somebody tell me...this is some kind of ''psychedelic''music like 60???i mean the name???this music is like psychedelic rock and roll or what???i'm into metal and hairbands but i like this song
metalheart4u9 9 months ago
@metalheart4u9 psychedelic is just part of the name. the music is just part of the eighties experiment.
aguteempasil 9 months ago
@aguteempasil but what kind of music it is????
metalheart4u9 9 months ago
@metalheart4u9 post-punk/new wave
aguteempasil 9 months ago
@metalheart4u9 Nope, not psychedelic rock, by any means. This is 80s new wave/post punk music. You should definitely delve deeper into those sub-genres. You may be surprised how good it is.

'82 was such a unique year for music. It was just an amazing year.

@psychofred2 "intellectual copyright" rarely benefits the individual with the creative intellect. :(
