If the men cared about this game then without a doubt we'd own too. The only reason we're not taking it seriously is so other countries won't kill themselves. Soccer is a cultural or the identity part of some countries. Imagine if an imperialistic, overachieving and overaccomplishing country who lacks the passion for the sport like they do went on and owned them in their own sport? It's called a "national trauma" = mass suicide.

Everyone thinks if you can juggle and trick a person with the ball you've got skill. So apparently the Brazilian team should have won.. skill is not foot work... foot work is a part of that, no doubt, but skill is being able to know how, where, and when to pass or shoot a ball, who to pass the ball to, to predict the next move three steps ahead of time, and to have countless options. If you ask me, both teams are perfectly capable of that, but the U.S. used it more effectively this time. :)

Sounds to me of a bit of jealously. The game was fairly played and although the game seem to have been controlled by the Brasilians most of the time, they did not capitalise on their chances. The Americans did and won.

There´s tactic, there´s the state of the players and then the circumstances, luck. See Germany. This time Brasil knocked them off their feet, two years ago they didn´t stand a chance...

wow. i'm a goalkeeper and i've been part of those games where the other team is supposedly "better", if I get my shutout against you, it's not from luck. It's from me being a trained goalkeeper that's good enough to beat you.

There is such thing as luck in soccer, I will agree with that. But not finishing three good scoring opportunities isn't unlucky. It's simply a lack of focus and a great game by the other team.

Overall it was a very even game. The first half was a draw. From the 50th - 80th minute, it was almost all Brazil and the US midfield during that time sucked, but you have to give credit to the US defense, which was outstanding for the entire match. Brazil was flashy, but mainly ineffective. Marta had one excellent chance to score, and at the other end, A-Rod should have scored in the 88th minute. The USA was much better in extra time except for the corners and it could easily have been 2-0 USA.
