  • @tammytamnov HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM THOUGHT BUBBLE!

  • Man, that was a creepy mix of adorable, and depressing........ now where's my wallet....

  • This is like treating the patient for his symptoms rather than the disease. Unless some thought is given as to why Afrika isn't developing the way modern nations did 150 years ago just sending more money seems like an exercise in futility.

  • @ndes0532 But they're training the community to maintain the water pump. That way it's sef-sustaining and leaves lasting effects in her community.

  • @ndes0532 Are you implying we should think of an ingenious plan to magically remove all poverty from this country? Developing impoverished lands takes decades...these people can die within days. Until we get them out of poverty, let's make sure they don't die first.

  • @ndes0532 I'm sure every person who isn't dying today due to charity efforts appreciates that while poverty is a systemic problem, people are still working at the individual and community level.

The point made in this video is that small, local action does help: if a child can go back to school and get an education, she's more likely to be able to provide for her family and benefit her community. While it's great to attack poverty from both ends, it's never 'futile' to save an individual life.

  • Imagine a young boy, who lives in a community that doesnt have fresh water, and one day in the middle of the night, he is kidnapped and forced to learn how to use a semi-automatic. He then has to fight someone elses' war everyday until he is shot dead.

  • wow thats awesome. soo want to learn how to do this typography thing =D
