  • Wow, now there are some OLD pictures there, hehe. Keep it up Dave, good work. xx

  • @skywalka65 Come on admit it...your childhood was in black and white too...lol.

  • @sproutcentral Ooh, cheeky! You've got a few years on me yet. But I do remember having a black and white TV. I think that was cos we were poor though, not from ancient times. lol. xxx

  • Happy Birthday Dave from the Turkeys and their extended family (me). You look like your are still enjoying being involved in the music industry and are living life to the fullist. Hope you have a great day.

  • Thanks Noel (I figured the correct answer was C)...lol).

Good to hear from you mate. Yeah, still making music for a living, so no complaints. I hope you're well and keeping out of trouble.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Do you ever hear from any of the guys ?

Last time I saw Raggs was at his mother's funeral, about 5 years ago.

  • Haven't seen or spoken to any of them for some time now. I last saw Tex in '85, Ken in '95 and Raggs in '99.

  • Dave, nice shots of Mordialloc Creek, Aspendale, Edithvale, Chelsea, Bonbeach High School and the Assembly Hall (brings back memories), Carrum river, Seaford & Frankston.

  • Thanks. It brought back a lot of good memories for me too when I put this vid together. It's a shame that the Assembly Hall is the only thing left of Bonbeach High. I'm guessing you went there too.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Yeah, went to Bonny High. Was is the same year as your brother IC. That first photo in the clip looks like Ned Kelly country, up around Glenrowan area, in North East Victoria...

  • Cool.

The pic was taken not far from Glenrowan on a property just south of Wangaratta. That's the Warby Ranges in the backgound.

  • Gee that was a good guess about the location then ?

I guess that would make me either

    A) Very Smart , B) An Arborist, or C) the person who took that photo and a few others in your clip.

  • Great Video,,,loved seeing all the wonderful photos,,5*****for sure!

It's real alright. I'm the one singing and drumming on this. I was doing my best to sound like Paul Weller, so thanks for the compliment.

Also loved the old pics, if your anything like me I bet you miss those old days haha :)

If they invented a time machine I would be the first to go back and live it all again LOL

    5*****

  • Absolutely Jeff.

As a kid I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up, so in that sense I lacked direction, but I made up for by making the most of every moment.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Great video! I love it!

    This is just incredible!

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Brilliant mate dont sound much different from the original 5*

  • Thanks James.

It's pretty close, except half the words I'm singing are wrong. I know you're a guitarist, but I have some advice for all the aspiring singers out there. "When in doubt...mumble." It always worked for me. LOL!!!

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Hey yeah! Good advice! No wonder I mumble so much, lol. Well, I think it is tremendous anyway....

I always have admired drummers that do the singing also..and you have a great voice. Cheers!

  • Thanks again Jimi.

Being a singing drummer was definitely an advantage.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Yeah! I don't know how you guys even do that!

I've played drums, that's hard enough all by itself!

And it all sounds tight to me, "My pleasure" Dave/

  • Amazing photos and great cover !

    Brilliant !

    bloody good clip Dave...

  • Hi Butch.

It's good to give all these memories a new lease of life.

I spent quite a bit of time at the Portsea Pub...lol.

My dad was a teacher and he spent the last few years of his career at the Balcombe Army Camp in Mt Martha.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Aces Mate. That is all I can say! Aces....

  • Well if that's all you can say Jimi, that's fine by me...lol.

A little bit more of Australia for you to enjoy.

  • Ha ha!!! That's me on drums & vocals.

The car is actually a 1964 Holden (General Motors). We had one just like it.

If you check out any of my Turkey's vids you'll see me playing the drums. Mind you, it was 25 years ago...lol.

  • Hold on! (64) Okay got it...25 years ago no mind!

Fresh Now...Mr. Sprouts, my hat is off.

  • Great video Dave, never thought The Jam where that well known outside England, loving the Bass and the drums of course.

  • Thanks Matt.

Bass & drums...the engine room of the band...lol.

This song was The Jam's only big hit over here. The Style Council were somewhat more successful.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Did you notice comments keep on disapearing Dave? WTF?

  • interesting you should mention that

it has been happening on my ESP channel as well...bloody comment and my reply...pfft !

Great song Dave....will we ever know the true number of bands you've been in? lol *****

  • Ha ha!!! It's not an infinite number Tom, but I've still got a few more up my sleeve...lol.

  • was in a band once called "The Hypnotiques" lol band broke up before the paint was dry on my bass drum skin

  • Very cool song Dave, love the video!! Awesome job! Thanks for sharing! Cheers, Lynn

  • Thanks for watching Lynn.

    Glad you liked it.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • OMG Dave what a place Edithvale and Aspendale south of Melborne, Victoria, almost most south point in Australie except Hobart. Now about the song, K^^L totally in love with it ! enjoy your beautiful country.

  • Thanks Sam.

I live a couple of thousand kilometres north now in Queensland. But Victoria was a great place to grow up in and it had the best music scene in Australia as well.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • This is excellent Dave. The pics in the video are amazing too. Thanks for sharing. Jan and Em ☺

    Cheers, Dave.

  • 00,28 seconds Dave is that you!!!????? front row second from left the smile seems to be the same and the ears lol, nice one david 5555.

  • Thanks David...glad you enjoyed it.

    I'm top row far right.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • I thought I was good at this,I should have spotted the lucky widows peak, you had it even then, the only one amongst them all is you interesting bunch of faces,I would love to know what became of unhappy little one seated chair front row far right, and the happy soul sat on floor second from right, experts say that the path in life was writtten by seven years of age.would be interesting to know what paths they took, yours I know LOL but it is unlikely that you would even remember their names.LOL

  • Believe it or not, I do remember the names of the two you singled out. Probably because later on we went to the same High School. I had a look at the rest of them and I remember about a dozen names.

  • Great vid. Thanks for the insight into an Aussie home. Looks very familiar. We even had a station wagon like that, too. Ford Falcon. So, Dave.....did you marry the pretty little blonde behind you in the school picture at 2:00???

  • Cheers Ben.

I guess there are similarities no matter where you live.

As for your question...the one that got away!!! lol

  • Yeah, life has its regrets. Makes us appreciate what we got.....besides, she's probably a fat, dumpy troll by now.

  • Ha Ha Ha - 2 sad old men ?,...

Well, I never was pretty but I can cook and change a tyre and I guess no one could every call me fat and dumpy...

    What's a station wagon ?

    :)

    .x

  • Uh oh, Julia, was that you in the picture? LOL.

A station wagon is a car like the one at 2:52. It has a flat storage area in the back instead of a trunk (boot)....usually purchased by sad old men.

  • Yeah - I know what a station wagon is-just trying to live up to my blonde and frumpy image...

(I've never been the sexy blonde in any ones photos. - and am happy to say so!).

Somehow useful gets you the guy in the end????

    .x.

  • "I've never been the sexy blonde in any ones photos"....Baloney! I disagree.....you forget I've seen your photos over on Mikee's channels. ;-)

Agreed, the bass player really nailed this one.

    Cheers, Dave.

  • Oi!! That was Paul!!! I've got the CD!! Top pics!! Centre stage for the school photo. Stealing the show even then. The siamese twins at that school freaked me out a bit though. Looks like a great place to grow up in. Loved that bit at the end. As the guy said Oh, yeah, Davey!! 5 from me. Andy

  • Thanks Andy.

I sang well but Paul sang weller.

I did have a lot of fun as a kid...come to think of it I still do. Must remember to grow up one day.
