i would still assist a swift into flight by throwing it

please try instead to just have it sitting on your hand while you stand in a "statue of liberty" position. there is really no need at all to throw it.

from our experience (with over 5000 common swifts treated in the clinic), even though a swift might seem to be healthy or fully fledged (if you raised a young one by hand), often they might not "want" to take off. in this case just wait some more days and try it again.

Love this news ... you have treated over 5000 Swifts? .... where are you? Saw 4 apus apus today ... they keep me going... sure okuma didn't mean throw as in a baseball. Scottish Swift lover.
