are you guys very well protected? and stuff like that? do i have to buy the equipment from a store? or i have to make my own? is this a "sport" for rich people?
It is very much a sport, and once you buy everything you need, it's just a matter of general maintenance (and buying more rattan as you bust it over people's heads...)
Well, if you've heard one blowhard SCA'er, you've certainly heard 'em all. You know nothing of me, how my guys and I train, or anything about what we do. I've never spoken of how good I am, or made any personal attacks at you. Yet it seems everyone wants to puff up and make challenges or talk shit about how BAD they are. BLAH BLAH BLABBITY BLAH!
First off, what I do is NOT stage fighting. It is full on combat with the body shots pulled, since we aren't using sticks. And the "pro-wresteling" aspect is the fact we ACT out a blow or slash to the leg, we don't keep fighting from our knees. Don't think for an instant that we don't or can't really fight....if I can get a "pulled" shot in on my opponent, what do ya think would happen at full speed, with intent?
How good can you possibly be if you do not fight and practice at full speed and hitting with intent? We fight and practice at full speed, full contact multiple times a week. No one can top that level of intensity. If I can break your arm with a stick through your metal armor, was dos that say about me? One fights how one practices. Period
Only the people who don't know how to "fight". There is no way that swinging away like that is going to work against someone who can actually fight. To each their own, but I'm just saying don't try to make it something it's not....which is REAL combat.
Man I want to join you!

Chivalry Sports is a good website to look at.
What kingdom do you hail from, mi'lord/lady?
It is very much a sport, and once you buy everything you need, it's just a matter of general maintenance (and buying more rattan as you bust it over people's heads...)
Hope this helps.

Not a very disciplined shield wall.

These SCA guys would kick the shit out of most people. One of them broke someone's arm during this melee

How cute, you're trying to be cool by calling others gay. Well you are weak at least, can't think for yourself now?

That was pretty bad quality, but what else could i expect from a camera in the sca lol
SCA vids seem pretty rare, so this was pretty cool to see.

THANKS The camera was the size of a cigarette pack, and mainly used to take pictures.

still not that bad for a cigarette pack. (: Hearing "let's go, double time" was enough for me, thanks for the vid.
