I think you did'nt get out much when you lived in Southampton. The New Forest actually begins in the west of the city around Ashurst and is less than 6 miles from the city centre, You are confusing the municipality with its wider edges, everyone living on the New Forest Waterside also consider themselves proud Sotonians so a little map reading would not go amiss!!
Omg I've lived in Southampton all my life and Im bored of it, but what makes me laugh is this video! It makes Southampton look like such an lovely, leisurely place to visit that I if I didnt live here I would want to come here! lol!
I'm an architecture student to. Did you go to Portsmouth?? I always thought it was ironic they have an architecture school considering nothing much remained after the war.
Southampton has all the Georgian and Medieval, you just have to know where to go. I'm doing my last year in Wellington and always tell people going to the UK to go see Winchester for the history and Southampton for the shopping/bars/social side of things.
Soton is a nicer place to visit and live than Pompy, nicer ppl.
lol, ok sorry, but then I suppose what it is you like. Im not really interested in historical parts of a city. I knew winchester had the cathedral but not the other stuff so you taught me something.
agreed! most of the places she went are not in central southampton! they r quite far away!! wish i could go there! :p yeah the shops r not the great but they r ok! :) but we must admit that southampton is lovely :)))
Yup, I wonder how far out they can still class it as part of the city. For example, its 14 miles from the centre of Southampton to Beaulieu, and 15 to Gosport!?
I wonder how Winchester would feel about being considered part of Southampton, especially given its far older and the medieval capital of England.
Im from Southampton, support the the Saints, but I hate the city and its shops.

this is New Forest, not Southampton city where I lived for 4 years! Very different places indeed. Misleading title...

Shame this shows so little of the real Southampton. The title is grossly misleading and would be titled outlying New Forest attractions.
