  • A lot of respect for Shawn Michaels!!!

  • the fans were so quiet during the match

  • Do u think that they should be roaring at the top of their lungs and on their feet from the start to the finish? What would you be like in that crowd in this match?

  • this is fucked, HBK couldn't even walk after this match...if you watch him walk around the ring with Tyson at the end, it is a huge struggle.

This is why Shawn Michaels is the best superstar to ever step into a ring, because he will still entertain the audience even with a broken back !

If anyone thinks Stone Cold is in the same league as HBK is kidding themselves.

  • I totally agree!!

  • Stone Cold says HBK is one of his favorite wrestlers. He also said it's hard to keep up with him because he's so good.

  • Stone Cold! Stone Cold! 7:39 7:44

  • Amazing effort on Shawn's behalf...knowing how much of a Mark for himself he was/is, to be injured, and sell so much for Austin is incredible...

  • hbk is the man.

  • This is HBK's greatest performance, why? Because he put his life on the line. Back was broke. And like tiatrips said. HBK is the greatest to ever live. *He even did a kick up. I cant believe that either.

  • When HBK has Austin in that figure four it was funny Lawler's view about it when he had his hands on the rope. HBK never seems to connect when tuning up the band always misses or gets reversed!

  • I'm watching the other parts of this match, and I keep seeing guys talk about the ending...forget the ending. Standing is hard with two blown discs in your back. Imagine that pain walking, running, and constantly falling on your back. HBK put possible paralysis on the line here, and put on a great match anyway. The man is legendary.

  • agree 100% I mean the guy did a freaking Kip Up even!!! Legendary indeed

  • it's stupiedity if you ask me

  • Or you can call it competitiveness. Like any great champion, he wanted to go out fighting, despite it being a loss. It might be stupid to some people, but you can't discredit the guy's heart.

  • yeah scripted competitiveness, he risked his entire health for that!

  • Like I said, you can't discredit his heart. It might be scripted, but the falls and slams still hurt. But he wanted to go out and give the people a match, knowing how bad he was hurt. I know he risked his health, but he put on a five star match anyhow.

  • Well that's his problem he should have ended. It wasn't much of a five star match HBK made it slow paced

  • it was slow because HBK's back was injured during the match.

  • HBK got robbed

  • Austyn wulda won weither HBK destroyed his back or not cause Stone cold was the new main man in WWE at the time it sux he had 2 lose it under those circumstances though

  • this match wasn't so good it could have been so much better but since his back was fucked up they didnt want to much action.. Stone Cold had a better match against Bret Hart the year before I just like the end when Mike Tyson punches Michaels..

  • dang neather he was knocked out or tyson is mad

  • The Best Match Ever!

  • I marked out big for this match when i first saw it. But, watching it back, it makes me uneasy watching Shawn Michaels... His offence was so slow and it was easy to see the pain he was in. I Respect the heck out of him for finishing this match

  • It was truly hard to watch him in so much pain. But its equally amazing how he still put on such a great match. Whenever i think of "HBK" and what he is all about i think about the effort he gave in this match. It says it all.

  • That is the reason that Michaels is still going at it and Bret Hart is a retired gimp. I marked out to Bret before I read what a selfish prick he was.

  • Shame Michaels did everything in his power to avoid losing to Steve Austin until Undertaker taped his fists and forced him to do his job. At least Bret didn't resort to anything stupid like that. That being said, Austin owns both Bret and Shawn.

  • Another dirt sheet mark. That rumor has since been denied by both Undertaker and Michaels.

  • Undertaker admitted it on On the Record in 2002 and Austin confirmed it in an interview he did earlier this year. I don't read dirtsheets, but Michaels didn't want to job to Austin and repeatedly said that he wasn't in his league while Austin was the main guy for the WWE. It's even mentioned on the DVD Heartbreak and Triumph.

  • I've seen all of those sources but the H&T DVD, Deblobwii, and no one says Taker threatened Shawn before the match into doing it... just that Taker was in the back waiting in case he didn't.

If Shawn hadn't intended to do the job, he wouldn't have done the job. I get why Calloway took the precaution, but that's no proof that Shawn didn't mean to do it in the first place... it only proves that his rep was bad in the back, to make Taker nervous about it. And *everyone* knows his rep was bad.

  • That was a great finish. Lmao Hbk got knocked outtt.
