  • HI..

I will be gettinjg this program for my iMac. Of course I am not all that literate in computer talk, but I am learning my iPhone in due time, so this should be attainable for amy feweble mind as well. I have a Music library on itunes in my Mac . will this existing library be able to be applied to this incoming Kjams program. ? My Karaoke Versions stuff too.? without having to repurchase all the stuff I have been using for sound only? I will be needing your guidance for a while.TY TY

  • @OLDERBLUE iTunes does not sell karaoke, if it did, there would be no point to kJams. so, no, your existing iTunes songs, or just any audio-only song won't just suddenly have sync'd lyrics, you have to buy actual Karaoke songs separately. There are built in music stores for that. kJams reads just about all file formats.

  • Hey great video. I currently use pc to run karaoke shows, but have been considering switching to Mac. What program do you use to run filler music between singers? My current pc set up has sound be routed to two external sound cards, so I was hoping to mimic this with Mac.

  • @moe2377 you can use iTunes to do auto-crossfading with kJams. search for "crossfade" on the kjams wiki

  • Awesome and extremely simple Karaoke platform! I've used 3 of the Top 5 Windows platforms for professional shows. Switched to Mac...KJams blows anything away I've used. If you can simply navigate around iTunes, then you'll learn this application within minutes. It also accepted my entire Karaoke library I have backed up from ripping them in PC in Windows format no problem. My external is and still formatted in FAT32 though. Can't wait to use this Saturday night!

  • where do i get the music?

  • @bling1999 there are built in music stores :)

  • @Wortoncho well, kjams dot com, of course

  • Where did you get all your songs (instrumentals) , and do they all come with pop up words....to sing along to....also what do i need to hook up aanother monitor for singers to sing along with ....thank you, really tryin to get the ball rolling

  • @Wortoncho there are built in music stores. you just need to get a second monitor connected to your computer, then drag the video window over to the other screen and double click to go full screen.

  • Can these be ripped and saved as MP3+G to external hard drives?

  • @RokDAWG1 yep!

  • @RokDAWG1 yes, you can :)

  • So you don't even need CD-g disks beacuse all your lyrics and music is on a external hard drive? What format are the files on the external and KJams reads your hard drive? Sorry for the questions but its kinda confusing. I have a Macbook im interested in the software thanks

  • @DJAimTv if you have CD-g disks, just insert them in your drive and have kJams import them just like iTunes does your CD's.

  • @DeejayZA do you have to goto a seperate website to get songs or does it search a database with songs already from kjams basically how to y get karaoke songs for your playlist to use for the system

  • @DJAimTv If you already own a hard drive full of karaoke music, then you don't need discs. OR, there are built in music stores (like iTunes for karaoke), so even then, you don't need discs. The format is whatever you want, kjams can read just about all formats.

  • hey Dejaay thanks for the answer. i did downloaded but i couldnt make it read my HD database. i think is a very nice program considering there is not many for mac. im using VDJ for my karaoke but it doesnt read my BIN files. how can u make it read your hardrive?

  • Awesome video, thanks for sharing. I just bought my first Mac (Mac Book Pro)...I'm a newby here and have much to learn about Macs. I've used Sigilos on PC for years to host at all my venues. This looks great for Mac. Can I use all my stored CD+G files on my externals I backed up with Power CD+G Burner, or will I have to back them up again using the plug in for Mac with this software? That took a lot of time. Also, did you existing drive in your Mac work for backing up your CD+G's

  • @DJGUNZ1 I can tell you I have had luck with kJams recongnizing all my karaoke files and I've used different software programs (PC and Mac) to import my CD +G discs. My suggestion would be to download the demo and give it a shot.

  • @DJGUNZ1 kjams will read all your existing files, no need to re-rip your discs. newer macs that have DVD drives generally are able to read CD+G discs (HL-DT-ST), older ones do NOT work (Matshita)

  • but this software doesnt read an existing database from a external HD right?

  • @S0CLOSE7 I store all my music on my external drive (with a duplicate of it on another external drive). So all my mp3's and karaoke files are all found on the external drive. I personally leave the default setting of the db file on my local drive on my macbook but you can configure it to be anywhere. The software is very configurable. I suggest checking out the wiki on the website for more information or just download it. You actually download the full version for free, just not pro feature

  • @S0CLOSE7 yes it does, of course. would be rather useless if not, right?

  • Hey, thanks for the review. I checked this player and cant believe how good and easy this thing is! Think Im gonna buy it. Thanks again

  • Great demo on this software. I had just purchased the pro version and this was a help in getting me started.
