How miserable your life must be that you live vicariously through kids doing parlor tricks, which unless he can APPLY Pi or a kid matching up colors can use that skill to find patterns in a great metaphoric mosaic to use to the benefit of mankind will ONLY be a parlor trick. At least those kids playing PS3s can sharpen up reflexes, thinking, problem solving skills, and motor control. It offers more chances to exercise intellect than remembering and reciting a set number.

BTW, there are plenty of games, computer or cards, that exercise memory (with or without exercising thinking the same time). And a kid expert in colors may become a good painter at the future.
