Also! I wanted to say I think this trick is a little 'greedy' with the second half of the trick. lol.

Counting the exact number of cards to where the 'chosen' card is located, sends off red flags to the audience. At least it did for me. A lot of the weight of the trick, is on the magicians acting skills.

On the other hand, this could be a great method to incorperate into another trick with an audience cut. Or used casually in a quick/fun trick where 100% right all the time isn't an issue.

So after watching this video and others which show "Xray" being performed.. I've done a little experimenting and I think I've found the answer. Its simple, to the point that you might feel robbed. The "Tip" Andy gives here should be a huge clue.

The outcome is not 100% consistant, but there are measures you can take to increase the probability. Like having your 'chosen' card more near the center of the pack, where one would cut. Another reason why you want someone capable to cut the deck.

For those of you that don't know, the MANUSCRIPT contains the notes that EXPLAIN the METHOD of the effect. btw, I STRONGLY recommend picking it up. Believe me, you won't EVER figure out the method just by watching this video over and over again :) the actual method is GENIUS

hmm i wonder how he did this, considering that he says "Shes going to but the cards" right when she does, and that he says "shes goin to flip one over" right when she flips one over, and says "then she going to put the rest back one" right when she does, and he know shes done, my guess is this took alot of takes, and every time she purpossly tried to cut to 25, as he probaly told her and they practiced before they video, and there is probaly a mirror where he is which is how he knewn which card.

Tip: Cutting cards is a simple task for a magician but not always so easy for a spectator. Make sure your helper is able to cut cards and follow the simple intructions. Not everyone finds helping in tricks easy.

eehh those tricks have no explanation, they are the toughest ever to figure out, I'm guessing the deck is set up because you did not shuffle them, and when told to deal them out they were face up so that the order was not disturbed when put back together, but even with a set up deck,,, you need to at least look at one of the cards.... damn that's puzzling
