Nah, fast is no biggie, its just something else you can add to a solo, like a little shred here and there, but not always this same technique. This is not a marathon ... Matt got his homework done, nice vibrato, bending, tapping, tremolo pick, sweeps...

Not only are they more complicated than any A7X rhythm, it's fucking epic and awesome. Many A7X riffs are eh, but There's not a Trivium song out there that doesn't have a good rhythm.

to those who say its sloppy...well, all I have to say its that your opinion is invalid. It is very tight. I don't like it much though to be honest. It sounded great the first time, but when he sped it up, any melody it had was lost. That solo was meant to be played slowly. If he wanted to play faster, he should have "stalled" a bit, rather than moving around the fretboard so fast. If he'd kept it slow, it would have sounded very randy rhodes-esque. I am a Matt Heafy fan tho, just not this time.

In my opinion, I think Corey is much better than Matt, in terms of technique, but that's probably because he had a teacher. Some of Corey's solo's are just blistering! Matt's solo's are however amazing too in that they are much more catchier and "epic" sounding that Corey's.
