Well the T-50 is not being developed to be a "F-22 Killer" .. Russians are just developing their own 5th gen fighter wich could or could not fight against an F-22 ... probably the F-22 is on the heads of the Sukhoi enginers while building this as its the only flying 5th gen aircraftt (as the F-35 is NOT 5th gen).. they are building a fighter wich can go up there.. handle most 4.5 gen threats (Rafale, Eurofighter , F-35, F-15E , F/A-18E ... ) and have a chance against the F-22

@AdoboAddict Nope, even Obama wasn't the killer. Stupidity in the aircraft's development was the killer. Obama just stopped the stupidity and the production it was built on folded. (Yeah I know, there is much more to it then that, he did push to stop production but look into it.) Those aircraft were way more expensive then they should've been. We can afford what they were and still are costing us.

I would reverse the direction of the intake control surfaces to get rid of the nasty high-alpha oscillation. Their function is similar to slats. Try it!

a) creates more thrust, quicker and efficiently

@3801Catcher Point a) is incorrect, they are inefficient mainly due to the fact they create less thrust per given amp/watt, just more top speed - I can burn through 250 watts of power in 3 minutes to go 50 mph, when a propellor plane can do that using less wattage, or conversely go faster with the same 250 watts.

This plane looks rather cool. I'd be really rather interested in seeing a test video on how these planes fly with ducted fans, with proper air intakes and possibly thrust vectoring nozzles at the back. It would be good to see how well the designs could be adapted to different type of propulsion despite being designed for specific propeller size.

Issues:

-less drag (more speed, more carbon for airframe?)

-more weight

-different centre of gravity

-slightly more lift (no hole for prop)

-no torque

@altops The PAK FA's real ones are very small as well, but it does almost seem these RC ones are even smaller. That said, it could be a case of where the rudders stayed the same during development, but the elevators &/or wings got larger.

@altops The V-stabs on the real one are "full flying" meaning the whole thing moves, so they they don't need to be big. Smaller means stealthier.
