Very cool posting of this period of UFO !! I read that Billy got to do a bass solo each night on this tour . Also, after Billy came back to USA to re-join Talas, this song was added to their set. I remember them playing it at Uncle Sams' in Buffalo.
I've seen this line up in Gdansk when they came to Poland I guess it was 1983 Billy Sheenan stole the show My jaw was on the floor for the whole time I'm a guitar player but I couldn't take my eyes from Billy The way he played on bass his showmanship he was from another dimension Now I'm watching this video and I can see that the whole band was fantastic Gosh if I could go back in time and see that show again Now that I can speak English I would be able to appreciate the show even more
Wish someone, ANYONE, would post more of this show, PLEASE do so! For the love of all MUSIC. I think that Phil's voice on this one track is VERY hard to make out, but not so much on the other track uploaded, which is strange. I missed any 83 album tour
@bigdaddymetal Not all radio, we're fighting for KFAI public radio, supporting the cause for commercial free and FREE from FEE music! Anywho, they WIL play UFO on occasion. I wish the vox were better heard on this track, it's likely the reason it's not released now
I wholeheartedly agreee, not takin any thing from Schenker, in many ways It's Pauls style and outright energy that I loved about UFO That get you in in the gut solos, rythms and hooks.
my opinion but UFO is phil mogg without him would not be the same one of my favorite singers problemwith msg was michaels choiceof vocalists shame phil and michael did not get along
It is funny that you say that Phil and Michael don't get along. Michael always said that Their music chemestry has always been the best, plus I heard it was mainly Paul Raymond who said that he didn't want Michael in or he was out, as well....
You're mistaking the context, it was Michaels problems with UFO since 95 and WOW, he left the band in the lurch too many times. Phil and Schenker came to blow when Phil punched him, and it's claimed that Moggy is something of a brawler over the years
It's still posted in the comments, note my original comment under my REAL name, and YT yanked that channel due to my Spinal Tap and Eagles infringing clips
If i'm wrong I stand corrected. I love the Chapman era and believe me. I have been a UFO fan since '77 and I still love them. As for your MSG comment, they are their best with Gary Barden..Peace
I think all those MSG singers were alright, but Barden is my personal fav. McAuley is a great guy though, even if his singing is TOO high, he's very down to Earth
i take lessons from paul, the lead guitarist. its in downtown melbourne florida. hes kick ass. hes like in a band with some of the members from moly hatchet its called gator country, after one of there songs
This was durring the FastWay - then Waysed Days!.. Paul Chapmen Played Bass on the record... Bassest one of them all - I think it was a FU from Phil/Paul??
Really...so Chapman played bass on Making Contacts?? Actually a pretty decent record....I saw Waysted with Chapman and Pete Way, they opened up for Iron Maiden, they were okay. How come the Pete Way thing never panned out with Fastway??? Does he even play on the album??
Waysted put out some mighty stuff, their best is Save Your Prayers by far! Vices, etc... The Making Contact was the last LP before the band broke up (until 85 with Atomik Tommy McClendon, who was also not too bad)
yeah I saw the "save your prayers" tour..it was good. But it didn't hold a candle to when I saw UFO on the" Wild Willing tour". To this day one of the best shows I've EVER seen..! Rock on bro!
WOW!!! I'd often heard how Billy Sheehan had been in UFO for a short spell! How COOL to see him here in this video and see how much he's contributing! Great bass AND great vocals, too!!! WOW!!! I'm also a huge Pete Way fan, but so neat to see! Thanks SO much for posting, Tretre!!!
Strong bass that Pete Way doesn't seem to have, not bad for a fill in. I love Pete Way mind you, but Sheehan has great tone and feel here. Paul Chapman and BCR Bich is always killer. He still loves 'em but plays a custom these days
I saw Sheehan play 100's of times here in Buffalo !!! He was in Talas !

Uncle Sams !!! I live in Buffalo and went there many times ! My favorite band was A.S.G. (Alyn Syms Group). Alyn still is the guitar master.

Billy Sheehan on bass. Paul Grey was a better fit to replace Pete. Cool song nonetheless. Rare find! Go Tonka!

Mick Glossop was cool,too...

I thyink it was Phil yanking off. Neil seemed to carry the band with Paul at the time...MC is a fine release..

What a killer final line up
I love Vinnie but I wish Paul or Schenker were back in !
Pete Way is afucking mess these days---would be cool to have Billy back.
The band is in 110%f form here....Hard to believe that Phil was on the verge of collapse..13 years of leading the band must have fried him
newarrior3000 2 years ago
This was the last tour before Phil collapsed onstage in Greece in 83 and they broke up for the 1st time
newarrior3000 2 years ago
Wow, forgot Billy S played with them. Just pulled Talas' 'Sink Your Teeth Into That!"
missedexit 2 years ago
Funny how Billy went from playing bass for the very first MSG line-up in '79 to doing a stint with UFO in '83.
A friend of mine drove 6 hours to see Billy with UFO in Lyon, France and when he got there they'd canceled the show. Needless to say he was depressed.
