That sucks, sounds like you are taking it the right way and are learning the right lessons: never assume any group of people you dont know are always going to behave the way you think they should. It does sound like an extreme decision from YouTube but as you say it is their site and their right. The solution from your point of view is to keep a backup of every video on your own computer - the next time YouTube deletes on account just post them somewhere else!

I might be late on this but it is possible to get your account back. Youtube revised its TOS recently and changed the way they suspend users. I know of two people that have appealed against a suspension and won their accounts back. It might be something to look into.

I love all of your videos and I'm subscribed to you at livevideo but it is such a waste to just lose all your old youtube vids.

Unfortunately, this is what happens when a cool video hosting website becomes hugely popular in a short period of time and gets sold for $Millions to some corporate pigs thus making the whole experience turn into the complete opposite of what it set out to do in the first place: share and communicate with other people.
