Holy Shit. This man is amazing. Found him this weekend and am continuously floored by his intensity. He may have even replaced Townes as my favorite songwriter.

The amazing thing really is that Coleyman1 can even get the time off his job as a WalMart greeter to get on 2/3 of Sam Baker's song videos and critique him- saying the same thing over and over. Coleyman, you probably never had an original thought or wrote an original lyric in your life and you pass your unlearned opinion on a real poet? Sam's delivery of his own lyrics is part of what makes them and him so real.. They have plenty of 'punch' when you really listen..

The only thing amazing about this is that Sam can make a living picking and singing! He is, without a doubt, no where near being able to sing. He has written some great songs with very stirring lyrics, but the songs just lose there punch when he trys to sing them. He is really hard to listen to. Not much of an entertainer with a voice like that.

What you obviously don't know is that Sam Baker was blown the fuck up, by terrorists, while riding on a train in Peru. It is a miracle he lived... all those sitting around him died. He hands, brain and ears were devastated. He fought back and to this day has to struggle to get the words out... but he does... very beautifully. At least, more beautifully, than your words of disrespect.

@johnmcookgmailcom I know all about Baker's plight and have followed his career for the past eight or nine years. That being said, it still does not take away the fact that his songs are better represented and the lyrics delivered with more intent if they are done more melodicly. Like I said, I love the mans lyrics. Hell lots of great song writers can't sing or deliver a melody the way others can. Grow up and quit patronizing him because of his disabilities. Whatever the reason, he's no singer.
