Just stop showing up at my door. I was a newlywed home maker and men my age would show up when they knew my husband wasn't home. We didn't like it one bit
My response back is...why are you whining when someone doesn't like the LDS church? It's called exposing falsehood, Mr. Hales. Someone disagrees with the doctrine, and you label it hate and "anti-Mormon"? That's what the politically correct do...label you for disagreeing.
The REAL apostles suffered FAAAAAAAAAAAR more than you ever will, Mr. Hales.
Mormons have pissed off a lot of people. Monson is a creep, just look at the guy. He is no prophet. Secondly, the mormon church is stealing 10% of the money from hard working people, they are forcing kids to spend 2 freaking years of their life in some horrible area, they are targeting illegal aliens and minorities( which is a totally sellout of America), they contradict their own teachings, etc. What happen to these guys, they use to be cool prior to 1978, because this mission crap.
@Armornone Mormons are not forced to go to church. they are not forced to serve a mission. they are not forced to pay tithing. they are not forced to obey the ten commandments. they are not forced to love god. they are not forced to love thy neighbor. we are not forced to be meek, patient, kind or charitable. we do these things, because we believe we will be blessed and receive joy for doing them. we are asked to do these things, not told.
@twoclose2call well consent was at the age of 13 (this is the 1800s we are talking about here) and was not abnormal for teens to get married at that age.. and the polygamy thing was also practiced in the old testament..nothing new there..
@xGoliathOnlinex Mormon spin again. Mormons compare America's laws 150 years ago to a completely different culture in Jerusalem 2000 to 5000 years ago.
150 years ago it was not legal for Joseph smith to take a 14 year old plural wife when he was 37 years old. It was illegal, polygamy was illegal. The 14 and 37 year old marrying might not have been illegal but only because it is so Unconscionable that people did not think man would do such a filthy act. When realized, they made it illegal too.
@twoclose2call im sorry its yuck to you, things were different back then and you really have no room to judge, the age thing really wasnt uncommon, ive even seen it in todays standards (in WA of all places).. and killing was illegal but that really didnt stop the mobs from doing that to the Mormons at that time either.. and sorry your menstruating theory goes out the window, its not actual fact, and much other proof makes it false.
@xGoliathOnlinex you are once again spinning the truth. It has always been extremely strange and rare for a 37 year old to marry a 14 year old in the US. If the girl was marrying someone that was 18 maybe less rare but still rare. It is even more strange that the 37 year had multiple wives and claimed God commanded him. What a man hoar. Warren Jeffs did the same thing and now is in jail for the rest of his life where he belongs. This is complete evil!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@twoclose2call Critics who assume that everything "is all about sex" reveal more about themselves than they do about the minds of early Church members, polygamous marriages often had other purposes than procreation--one such purpose was likely to tie faithful families together. and comparing J.Smith to W. Jeffs just shows how quick your judgement is and quite a low blow since he isnt even apart of our church.
@xGoliathOnlinex It sounds like you're inferring that JS marriages had nothing to do with sex. ROFL! Why get married?!!! (WJ) Warren Jeffs is easily compared to JS because they were exactly the same. Both claimed to be prophets, married teenage children when they were mid thirties or older, both polygamists. Both claimed God commanded them to be polygamists. WJ is in prison for marrying an underage minor. The are EXACTLY the same. Actually JS was worse because he married other mens wives.
@twoclose2call well you obviously don't know the significant purpose of marriage in the Mormons point of view. i cant prove that he didnt have sex with half his wives and yet you cant prove that he did. so i guess it all falls upon Gods judgement. also take into account those who knew him best, those of strong Christian heritage, did not find a lecher or pedophile in their midst--they found a prophet of God teaching and striving to live a pure religion
@xGoliathOnlinex I know the significant purpose of which you speak. Maybe if you endure to the end, you too can be sealed to thousands of celestial wives, have 1,000s of spirit babies and become a God of your own planet. Still it was pointless for him to marry a 14 year old girl.
cont'd Most people who knew JS knew he was evil and that is why he was convicted of glass looking, Jailed for destroying a newspaper printing, press, and killed in a gun battle where he also killed 2 people from a mob that consisted of many Mormons that left the church. If you research the real Mormon history not the faith promoting lies of the Mormon church and then pray about it, you will know too.
@twoclose2call wow.. half of those were written up by his enemies.. talking about twisting the truth around eh.. and when has defending yourself from a mob been against the laws of this country?
@twoclose2call how do you think this church happens to be one of the fastest growing churches in the world? with up to 13 million members and over 55 thousand missionaries, they all stand up to the fact that JS was a real prophet of God.. i think you should try to know JS a little better than from the lies and garbage that anti-mormon sites like to hand feed you..
@xGoliathOnlinex This is another lie of the church. Research the numbers. Seventh Day adventists and many other sects are growing much faster than LDS.
The LDS church only grows because they do not tell the people they are baptizing the whole truth. That is why there is such a high inactivity rate. about 20 years ago there was approx. 4 million active LDS, today there are only about 5 million. Those are the real numbers and half of those people still have not heard the truth about its history.
@twoclose2call haha the truth eh, look at your truth and your proof. and yet you have none, except for maybe some anti-mormon internet sites.. thats quite the 'facts' theyve got..
@xGoliathOnlinex Well the debate has been lively. Next sunday at church count all the people that are attending sacrament meeting. Then times that by the official lds.org number of total wards and branches. This is not totally accurate because branches can be much smaller than wards so it will actually be less than the number you compute, but you will get an idea of actual church membership. You must discover things for yourself. If you are happy then by all means stay where you are. cheers!
@xGoliathOnlinex My point is just because something is not written down as law yet, does not mean it is not a pernicious evil. For instance. It was probably also not illegal during Joseph's smith time to have sex with animals. It is still pure filth and evil. Just as Joseph Smith taking a young 14 your old as a wife when he was 37!!!!!! and telling their family that God commanded it. Yuck!!!!!!!!
From the outside looking in, this religion looks like a complete fraud (polygamy, book of Abraham, seer stones, no golden plates etc). If you can be coerced into believing this is real, what other poppycock could you be convinced into believing in?
...and your god may love me...until I do something wrong, then he sends me into a pit of fire and anguish to burn and suffer for all of eternity...what a nice and loving god :)
@MormonsLoveFamilies How do you "know"? The reality is you don't. Do you know how I know that you don't know?...Because I don't know, and you do not posess powers of observation or perception that I do not. Isn't the correct thing to say "I BELIEVE that the god of the Bible loves you"?
@MormonsLoveFamilies Well if your a women, I hope you enjoy your Mormon God husband that you end up living with in heaven along with thousands of other wives. If that is heaven for you you can go home with your crazy self.
Jesus is the Creator of all things John 1:1-3 He is the one and only God that exists Isaiah 43:10,11 He is the total Way to Heaven John 14:6, not a step along the road, like Mormonism tries to make Him. John 3:18,36 make it very clear that if you have Jesus in your life, the one and only God, you have eternal life. If you do not have Him as your Master and God, the wrath of God abides on you. There is none righteous Romans 3:23 We have all earned Hell and death, God gives us Heaven Romans 6:23.
@MormonsLoveFamilies God loves every person on this planet. But we all have earned & deserve His wrath. We cannot make ourselves worthy of Heaven, only God can do that. God is not a man Numbers 23:19. He knows of no God that exists besides Himself, and He declares in His word that He has made everything that exists by Himself Isaiah 43:10,11 44:6-8,24. Satan does not approach most people, as a demon from Hell, he makes himself appear as an angel of light 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 Galatians 1:6-10.
I cannot tell you honestly that all bibles are true. I cannot say they are untrue. It is not impossible that God exists. It is not impossible that the bibles are of a truth or even completely true. In fact I would say more certainly that is is more possible that the bibles are true than not. The bibles are all of a truth or pertaining to a truth. I believe in honest God fearing people. or in honest people or in people that are not hypocrites. I believe in the Almighty God. surely
There is a reason why evil men fall. Their path is self defeating. They lay a snare proverbially then fall into it. Meanwhile good and right men suffer under them. and sooner or later These good men come to the front. Having suffered through the living lie of the "not for the good". This is the reason why we have survived to this day. Not for the good of all is self cancelling. So called evil is purposefully self defeating. Good people are destine to survive. Evil men are not.
My bottomline is to say well keep doing what you are doing. Do not take rash actions. Just accept todays world. Greener grass and cleaner streets are ok however establishing a "self" that you may live with is most important to change externally. I am so saddened that it took me 50 years to grow up. I worry every day about how the kids will have little chance if those are thier odds. I did not build the world into what is is today. I provide suggestions as I see fit to make a place I MAY LIVE IN.
So I am doing exactly what I see fit to do! Nothing more nothing less. I realize you people will all make challenges and desire to do hystrical harms for no good reason. If you can come to the front of the line then take the lead at any time thankfully! leadership in these days is a curse a series of lies and contradictions. I only ask how can you see fit to accept a path that is survivable? A path the world will share with you? an unpreverted justice? It is possible it is of a truth.
As sickening as it may seem every person is doomed to make the same mistakes over and over. The give and take of truth verses of a lie is both subjective and curious. This is saying that we all might think alike if not for a location in time and on earth.. As hard as it is to believe every person is doing thier best. If I wrote it down then I meant it! However I say things constantly I wish to take back. Its impossible to be right!
Why should every man woman and child suffer through thier predispositions?
The global learning experience is a portal to overcoming prejudices and hangups.
I have already assumed and been punished for my own outspokenness an outspokenness that NEVER EVEN DEVELOPED I am so over the top knowitall smart alec that my entire life from birth is to keep me from speaking without thought and without reason. So now after 51 years I feel barely able to speak out lest I lend to the unrighteous.
I guess maybe it is impossible to change the world. All the people all the pitfalls and all the mixtures make for unsafe passage. I plant a garden I sow the seeds I provide the water I pull the weeds yet no matter the survival of the garden is a matter of circumstance. Suffice it to say that irresponsible people have said irresponsible things about me while I have held my tongue.
What good has come of these things?
DO NOT SIT IN THE SEAT OF JUDGEMENT AND SUSPISION.
It all boils down to time travel and the violation of time and relativity. Do we, and does the The God Almighty use man as clay to form the experience of human life? Ok yes obviously there is a divine intervention. I strongly believe that divine intervention is possible. Even futher that divine intervention is necessary! Man and men have a short attention span and a huge comfort zone. Humanity for what ever reason seem unable to help them selves. Somehow there is no voice of reason. Go figure.
My feelings are related to matter of fact research into worldly truths and science. To What if? The meaning and desire for the knowledge of a God and the Knowledge of life itself. I could not reasonably overlook any claim or account of supernatural contact. I felt that a pure hearted unbiased look at all religious truths was indicated. Can a normal man believe so much as to come into the direct meeting with the God? So anyway I obviously am not worhty...(laughing) Many are called few are choosen
Hopefully you all can see why I am upset. Not only is it a lie that I ever harassed the mormons ever. It is a lie that I even know or can of whom thier leaders are! I never wrote a letter to the mormons or threatened them ever. Suffice it to say the mormons as I encountered them are somewhat obnoxious bombastic outspoken persons. So yes I preached at Temple Square, not really, ok I will say that.ands yes I authored a manuscript.. OK sure whatever. The Mormon security not terlling the truth.
So to tell you the truth I trust The Almighty God to allow me TO MANIPULATE THE HUMAN RACE for MY vision of a survivable and enduring future. I sit here patiently and pathetically plotting for my goals which unbeknownst to you are also your goals to make a survivable future. I guess I believe in life without end. So sure I am upset that "the mormons" have accused me falsely THEY SHOULD KNOW THAT IF I HAVE A MESSAGE TO THEM I WILL PERSONALLY DELIVER IT TO THEM. NO I NEVER THREATENED THE MORMONS
Why question the children? Why reprove the imbecile? If someone is cought up in defaming boasts and crooked ways who amI to point out thier folly? I really feel everyday words off my own lips are full of folly. There are mormons and they think somehow they are apponited above humanity, as indicated by thier boastful self pityful nature. However they are and have neen a tool for not only MY WILL and MY USE but surely for the Almighty God.
Yes I understand that all have strong misgivings about this text and the motives of the peoples that present it, that is true. However do not the wicked lay in thier way a path of destruction? The wicked fall to thier own desire assured. So how can I say to you with a certainty that this is a lie? I believe that the path that God chooses is merely a matter of circumstance. The circumstance of survival. The course of humanity is meanderinhg and untamed. The hand of God is steady and sure.
Because you attack Christians &, among other despicable deeds of devilation, grossly misrepresent the ontology of God & the soteriology of man, thus bashing & trashing the Holy Bible. You serve up dishonest, sanitized, revisionist church history & regularly, frequently bear blatant, false witness against the blessed & beloved body & bride of Christ. You pride yourselves on good works ※ cf. Matt. 7
& Lk. 18 ※ without ※ your face pressed against the wall of Mormon ※ but your roots are rotten.

"A ceremony that profoundly touched me for the sincere and heartfelt appreciation of those attending," said Senator Lucio Malan. "A positive day for Italy because those who profess to obey the laws of the state and the laws of God make the country in which they live a better place."
In attendance at the morning ceremony was Mr. Giuseppe Ciardi, representing the mayor of Rome, Giovanni Alemanno, and other local government representatives.
The First Presidency's letter to Argentine LDS church members is straightforward, reminding members of traditional marriage between a man and a woman and reiterating the importance of the doctrinal document The Family: A Proclamation to the World.
This is not uncommon for the LDS church. Letters from the First Presidency are read at ward meetings, many of which advocate for beliefs. As a lifetime member of the LDS church, I have heard many a letter from the First Presidency and read over the pulpit on Sundays.
The bible warms us not to blindly follow anyone who claims to be a prophet but no Mormon will question anything they are taught. When confronted with a discrepancy between the bible and BOM (or a prophet), instead of questioning the prophet it's the bible that is "mistranslated". But no use arguing about it, Nothing is more important to a Mormon than "the church", not even God. The truth is out there, you just have to want to find it, and most LDS don't want to, so they blindly follow.
@MormonsLoveFamilies I want you to know that God loves you, more than you could ever imagine. No matter what works you do, he loves you the same, No more, No less. He requires nothing from you but a surrendered heart, not religious devotion. He wants you to test prophets so they don't corrupt his perfect love for you. He wants you to know that your righteousness is rags before him so that pride will not corrupt. He wants you to know his power lives in you through Jesus, not in the priesthood.
@jeannabrewer Thank you for the massive generalizations of individual characteristics. I'm curious as to how you know so much about every last member of the lds church that you can say such things with authority. I personally do question what I'm taught because I desire to know for myself the truth of things. Heck, it was practically hammered into me that I need to know for myself and not rely on someone else.
@EpicLeafNinja As far as your question goes, whoever told you the Book of Mormon teaches there is many gods is the liar. It also leads me to believe that you're just spouting the same thing that's been spouted for the last 150 years, rather than doing legitimate research.
@h00pla434 If thats true why did Joseph F. Smith say that a man could obtain godhood? Why did Brigham Young say that god was once a man who became a god? I just don't understand.. Prophets say one thing and Mormon people say another....
@jeannabrewer It's more like the prophets say one thing and then the people accept it, realize that's predominantly tangential to our lives here, and continue on with their lives with the knowledge that there are far more important aspects of following Christ to worry about. His claim that the Book of Mormon teaches about more than one god tells me that he hasn't done any actual research, he's just regurgitating the same claims that have been spouted for 150 years
@h00pla434 There are "far more important aspects of following Christ", thats why I have so much trouble with the church. Church comes first. Every time a testimony is shared it starts with "I believe this is the true church because....." Instead of praising God. When I hear general conference too, I just get this feeling in my gut that it's not right. So I do research to find out what claims are true and what are not. People can't lie in the name of Christ because it ruins his message.
@h00pla434 Your right, I did make a generalization, based upon every Mormon I know, and I know a lot. I live in Utah and am married to a former member of the LDS church. I just don't know why anyone would, knowing ALL church history, willingly join the church. I don't know why anyone who questions what goes on in the church would stay, other then out of fear.
@jeannabrewer You know a lot of Mormons compared to the 17 million that are out there? And not to mention that you know Utah Mormons, which is like saying you know all about Americans because you know a lot of Texans. And if you're going to make that kind of claim about the LDS church, I question why you would choose to be a Christian at all given all the sordid acts carried out in the name of Christ if you know ALL the history of Christendom.
@h00pla434 But what about the lack of any archeological, genetic, or geographic proof to support the stories in the book of mormon? Why do so many BYU professors who seek to prove the book of mormon true end up leaving the faith? I mean faith is not based on science by any means, but the bible can at least be traced back to real people, real cities, and real historical events.. Take a look at the youtube video the Bible vs. the book of mormon, or The Case for Christ videos.
It was history in the making, Aug. 28, as audiences all over western Africa witnessed the first Latter-day Saint youth dramatic production of its kind. The theme, "A Mighty Change," was chosen to invite all participants to experience for themselves the mighty change of heart enjoyed and encouraged by Alma the Younger.
Russell Nash, who runs the church seminary program in Kimberly, Idaho, promptly ordered pictures and manuals for the seminary once he was informed of the site.
Peterson said they've tried to make the online store site friendly to such customers.
"Of course, we can't take pictures of the garments, but we have pictures of parts like a cap sleeve or a lace hem. We have swatches of the fabric with as detailed descriptions as we could write. We have a detailed guide for how to take measurements," Peterson said.
"I think our mission baptizes about 300 people each year and that's in 52 different congregations," he said.
King said his favorite part of his position with the Mormon church is the interaction with the volunteers who are ministering daily.
"They're convicted that this is the truth, and so when they go out they want to share that with other people," he said. "So it's really fun to see their enthusiasm. There are no incentive programs or rewards, it comes from their heart."
Across the Northwest states of Washington, Oregon and northern Idaho, more than 14,000 volunteers participated in a broad scope of community service on Sept. 11, 2010, as part of the first Day of Service Northwest, reaching out to help others in a variety of ways during tough economic times when families and individuals are in need, unemployment rates are high, plus state and local agencies and schools have experienced budget cuts
Pakistan is the sixth largest country in the world when measured by population. Haqqani said eight million children have been displaced, are without health care and in need of immunizations. He also mentioned that 800,000 to one million expectant mothers are affected by “a national calamity of humongous proportion.”
“Until John the Baptist, the law of Moses and the messages of the prophets were your guides. But now the Good News of the Kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is eager to get in" Luke 16:16
The office of prophet ended with John the Baptist, and while others uttered prophetic statements, there were no more official (as in occupying an office) prophets after John.
@omiolo Luk 16:16 "Until John the Baptist began to preach, the laws of Moses and the messages of the prophets were your guides. But now the Good News of the Kingdom of God is preached, and eager multitudes are forcing their way in.
Mat 11:13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
@omiolo it says until, therefore it means until. Maybe English is not your first language, maybe it is, but you should know what the word until means. I want the scriptures to say whatever they say, and I am not threatened when they say something that contradicts the doctrines of whatever church body I associate with. God's word is a teacher, so please learn from it.
In an interview, President Uchtdorf spoke of a Ukrainian tradition of welcoming visitors with bread and salt. "If you come down to the weightier matters, to things that matter most, the temple is where you get your bread and salt, and you can live on that for a long time. This is the spiritual food that these people will receive.
President Uchtdorf is very familiar with the countries comprising the new temple district. He came to Kyiv – then Kiev, which was more Russian than Ukrainian — in 1994 as a member of the Europe East Area presidency and toured the mission and met with members. He traveled also to other countries now in the temple district.
The attacks by those who claim to be Christian against the disciples of Jesus Christ is a black eye on all Christianity and will only continue to lead to the blackening of the souls of those who do it.
Read the convo history. I asked the first question. That question, AGAIN, is "cite where a Church Authority refuted the doctrine of man becoming gods/ refuted the "as man is, God once was, and as God is, man may become."
BTW, why can't your types be HONEST? we both know you are an ANTImormon who has NO clue about LDS doctrine except for what you have been fed by ANTImormon propaganda. In fact you are so lost you do NOT even know where LDS doctrine is located. It is OK, it is TYPICAL of your types. It is NOT as if your types are allowed to think for yourselves.
To omiolo: You did not. Look at my comment from two hours ago on page 3 of the comments. I clearly asked you to cite where the doctrine of "men becoming gods", and "as man is God once was" theology was refuted. You're a coward, and a liar.
Despite the religious overtones of the location and keynote speaker, Hinckley Institute of Politics Director Kirk Jowers said he anticipates the event to be of interest to anyone.
@omioloYou did not. Look at my comment from two hours ago on page 3 of the comments. I clearly asked you to cite where the doctrine of men "becoming gods", and "as man is God once was" theology was refuted. You're a coward, and a liar.
Oaks will speak Sept. 17 at the LDS Tabernacle on Temple Square during the first day of a two-day series of lectures about the Constitution. Patriotic songs will be performed by Utah Voices, a Salt Lake City-based community choir.
The Sept. 18 speeches will include an address by Sen. Bob Bennett, a Utah Supreme Court justice, and several educators.

I am only 22 yrs old, a sad fact when you consider the lack of any substance, weight, or power on the other, more aged end of the spectrum(that end being you). In your age, and assuming many of those years have been spent in the Church, you would absolutely know well the doctrines (old and new) of the Church. Our ancestors would be ashamed of someone like you jumping to the front as an "apologist" and perpetuating false ideas and false doctrine. I too am ashamed of people like you.
You are a fraud. You play an intellectual until someone calls for specifics, facts, and anything but fluff. You are a fake. You are a lie. I encourage you to examine your "faith". From what has been shown here, it is in fact, not faith, and that fact, is evident to any who see this exchange. Go learn something before you spew lies here. And if you feel you are educated, then that means you lie consciously, and therefore are subject to the judgement reserved for unrepentant liars.
In the U.S., FamilySearch is currently focusing on digitizing and publishing online federal and state censuses and state birth, marriage and death records. When complete, the initiative will provide a definitive collection of U.S. genealogical resources for family history researchers.
“Some time ago, FamilySearch committed to creating access to the world’s genealogical records online in a big way. Today’s updates are part of an ongoing effort to make good on those commitments,” said Paul Nauta, FamilySearch public affairs manager. “We have only just begun,” Nauta concluded.
Because OBVIOUSLY, your beliefs and the doctrine are different. If that is the case, you do the Church no favors, and my original point of your destructiveness to our cause stands.
If you do not know that it is in our doctrine that God was indeed once a man, and that we are to follow the same course he did from manhood to godhood, then you are ignorant. If you are not ignorant, then you are a liar. I hope it is not the latter. If it is though, consider what you are really doing. Are you going to pick and choose what you believe when it comes to out doctrine? Or are you going to own up to it and believe it with the same zeal you have for your current beliefs?
Man you are so wrong. Are we ever going to own up to our doctrine? At least, I thought it was "our" doctrine....If this is not true, cite where it says it is not true. Prophets and apostles said it is.
Is it not a simple response? Wouldn't a "true" member such as yourself have some reference point as to where such an "errant" doctrine would be refuted? I mean, if we take the time to refute the Adam God Theory, I would surely think that one of our authorities would have taken the time to quell such a "crazy" doctrine. Again, I extended the first invitation, that is, to cite where it says that men becoming Gods is not true. And from where God came if He was not a man before.... "WAITING".
@BiblesAndBarbells51 STILL not going to answer that are you? Obviously if your presence on youtube is based on DECEIT, then how can we have an HONEST discussion? WAITING......
@omiolo DO YOU HEAR WHAT YOU ARE SAYING? I ASKED YOU A QUESTION. ANSWER IT, THEN I ANSWER YOURS. DO NOT TRY AND PULL THAT GARBAGE WITH ME AND TWIST AND TURN IT AROUND. WHAT YOU HAVE ACCUSED ME OF IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE AS I POSED THE FIRST QUESTION, AND YOU WILL NOT DARE ANSWER IT BECAUSE IT MAKES YOU OUT TO BE A PROPAGANDIST AND A LIAR. I AM ASHAMED TO HAVE SOMEONE WITH A LYING SPIRIT SUCH AS YOURS IN OUR CONGREGATION. IF YOU WILL NOT ANSWER THE SIMPLE QUESTION, THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER.
@omioloYou did not. Look at my comment from two hours ago on page 3 of the comments. I clearly asked you to cite where the doctrine of "men becoming gods", and "as man is God once was" theology was refuted. You're a coward, and a liar.

Further, President Eyring said, "President Monson is exemplary in his ability to reach out to people of other faiths and nationalities. He feels a bond and genuine love for all of God's children.
I am LDS and I will tell you that this title of this video is deceiving and does no good to the cause of the LDS faith. Mormonism was founded on the famous "Words of God" saying "all their creeds are an abomination in His sight". Joseph Smith said that all the preachers, and pastors were in the employ of Satan, and up until recently in the temples all over the world, Protestant preachers were shown as being in the direct employ of Satan. You wonder why people are upset? Read a book.
@MormonsLoveFamilies Yes I Know This. Do You? If you're going to sponsor debate by putting up things like this, you need to engage, to some degree of intelligence, those who have questions about what you are saying and implying. These responses you are giving are not bringing anyone closer to Christ, and in fact, are instigating the debate and "hatred" that is too hot for you or many to answer. Answer the questions, be accountable, or take this stuff down.
@MormonsLoveFamilies I knew God loved me 21 years ago when I read His word and it said "God loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten son, that WHOSOEVER believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" You see, we do have a living prophet, the word of God, it is alive with the power of the Holy Spirit of God, and it is sharper than any 2 edged sword. The word of God never fails to achieve that which God sends it to accomplish.
Just because I do not agree with you, at all, does not mean I am in less standing or less worthy than you are. I hope you are not implying that........
“It would be impossible without the hundreds of very, very willing volunteers who have stepped forward and accepted any assignments and have done so willingly with enthusiasm,” he says.
“For example, Monday morning we were there to construct the platform the visiting authorities will be sitting on. We really needed half a dozen men, we had 25 volunteers. It's just that type of thing over and over again on every assignment you ask for."
"He will help you as you turn to Him in prayer, listen for the promptings of the Spirit, obey the commandments and keep the covenants that you have made," wrote the First Presidency. "You will feel a great sense of accomplishment as you fulfill your duties, and you will be prepared to receive the Melchizedek Priesthood, receive the covenants and ordinances of the temple, worthily serve a full-time mission and become a righteous husband and father."
Throughout the morning, women of all ages brought their contributions to others who sorted them into boxes. In one classroom, Sara Steffenauer of the McLean II Ward collected granola bars, nuts, dried fruit, and Cheerios that her group assembled into 350 nutritious snack packs for an after-school program of the DC Central Kitchen in Washington
I wish more people had the love of God in their life. I have found that those that love God proclaim God, and those that don't feel the love of God attack others.

Va. man who killed Mormon missionary gets 38 years
A Virginia man has been sentenced to prison for killing one Mormon missionary and wounding a second in a January 2006 attack in the southeast Virginia city of Chesapeake.
To celebrate the golden anniversary, the BYU Ballroom Dance Company's performance will also showcase dancing from 50 additional alumni couples including the de Hoyos.
Story continues below
The concert will feature some world premieres including a cha-cha choreographed by U.S. Latin champions Eugene Katsevman and Maria Manusova; a samba by Jean Marc Genereoux and France Mousseau and a Lindy by Christian Perry of "Dancing with the Stars."
Example - "All Christian churches are an abomination" This becomes even more offensive when members deny it. Everyone baptized into the church knows about this.

My response back is...why are you whining when someone doesn't like the LDS church? It's called exposing falsehood, Mr. Hales. Someone disagrees with the doctrine, and you label it hate and "anti-Mormon"? That's what the politically correct do...label you for disagreeing.

@xGoliathOnlinex Joseph Smith was not forced to marry 14 year old girls either. He just wanted to. contrary to what Joseph Smith said.
twoclose2call 3 months ago
@twoclose2call well consent was at the age of 13 (this is the 1800s we are talking about here) and was not abnormal for teens to get married at that age.. and the polygamy thing was also practiced in the old testament..nothing new there..
xGoliathOnlinex 3 months ago
@xGoliathOnlinex Mormon spin again. Mormons compare America's laws 150 years ago to a completely different culture in Jerusalem 2000 to 5000 years ago.
150 years ago it was not legal for Joseph smith to take a 14 year old plural wife when he was 37 years old. It was illegal, polygamy was illegal. The 14 and 37 year old marrying might not have been illegal but only because it is so Unconscionable that people did not think man would do such a filthy act. When realized, they made it illegal too.
twoclose2call 3 months ago
@xGoliathOnlinex No matter how you try to spin it. JS was not obeying law of the land as polygamy was illegal.
In addition, 150 years ago women started menstruating later than now, so there's also a chance Helen Kimball was prepubescent.
Joseph Smith's actions were completely abhorrent!! The Yuck factor! is off the chart.
twoclose2call 3 months ago
@twoclose2call im sorry its yuck to you, things were different back then and you really have no room to judge, the age thing really wasnt uncommon, ive even seen it in todays standards (in WA of all places).. and killing was illegal but that really didnt stop the mobs from doing that to the Mormons at that time either.. and sorry your menstruating theory goes out the window, its not actual fact, and much other proof makes it false.
xGoliathOnlinex 3 months ago
@xGoliathOnlinex you are once again spinning the truth. It has always been extremely strange and rare for a 37 year old to marry a 14 year old in the US. If the girl was marrying someone that was 18 maybe less rare but still rare. It is even more strange that the 37 year had multiple wives and claimed God commanded him. What a man hoar. Warren Jeffs did the same thing and now is in jail for the rest of his life where he belongs. This is complete evil!!!!!!!!!!!!!
twoclose2call 3 months ago
@twoclose2call Critics who assume that everything "is all about sex" reveal more about themselves than they do about the minds of early Church members, polygamous marriages often had other purposes than procreation--one such purpose was likely to tie faithful families together. and comparing J.Smith to W. Jeffs just shows how quick your judgement is and quite a low blow since he isnt even apart of our church.
xGoliathOnlinex 2 months ago
@xGoliathOnlinex It sounds like you're inferring that JS marriages had nothing to do with sex. ROFL! Why get married?!!! (WJ) Warren Jeffs is easily compared to JS because they were exactly the same. Both claimed to be prophets, married teenage children when they were mid thirties or older, both polygamists. Both claimed God commanded them to be polygamists. WJ is in prison for marrying an underage minor. The are EXACTLY the same. Actually JS was worse because he married other mens wives.
twoclose2call 2 months ago
@twoclose2call the idea that JS needed to marry teenagers was in order to tie faithful families together is absurd and serves no purpose whatsoever.
twoclose2call 2 months ago
@twoclose2call well you obviously don't know the significant purpose of marriage in the Mormons point of view. i cant prove that he didnt have sex with half his wives and yet you cant prove that he did. so i guess it all falls upon Gods judgement. also take into account those who knew him best, those of strong Christian heritage, did not find a lecher or pedophile in their midst--they found a prophet of God teaching and striving to live a pure religion
xGoliathOnlinex 2 months ago
@xGoliathOnlinex I know the significant purpose of which you speak. Maybe if you endure to the end, you too can be sealed to thousands of celestial wives, have 1,000s of spirit babies and become a God of your own planet. Still it was pointless for him to marry a 14 year old girl.
twoclose2call 2 months ago
cont'd Most people who knew JS knew he was evil and that is why he was convicted of glass looking, Jailed for destroying a newspaper printing, press, and killed in a gun battle where he also killed 2 people from a mob that consisted of many Mormons that left the church. If you research the real Mormon history not the faith promoting lies of the Mormon church and then pray about it, you will know too.

xGoliathOnlinex 2 months ago
@xGoliathOnlinex This is another lie of the church. Research the numbers. Seventh Day adventists and many other sects are growing much faster than LDS.
The LDS church only grows because they do not tell the people they are baptizing the whole truth. That is why there is such a high inactivity rate. about 20 years ago there was approx. 4 million active LDS, today there are only about 5 million. Those are the real numbers and half of those people still have not heard the truth about its history.
twoclose2call 2 months ago

@xGoliathOnlinex Well the debate has been lively. Next sunday at church count all the people that are attending sacrament meeting. Then times that by the official lds.org number of total wards and branches. This is not totally accurate because branches can be much smaller than wards so it will actually be less than the number you compute, but you will get an idea of actual church membership. You must discover things for yourself. If you are happy then by all means stay where you are. cheers!

@EpicLeafNinja As far as your question goes, whoever told you the Book of Mormon teaches there is many gods is the liar. It also leads me to believe that you're just spouting the same thing that's been spouted for the last 150 years, rather than doing legitimate research.
h00pla434 1 year ago
@h00pla434 If thats true why did Joseph F. Smith say that a man could obtain godhood? Why did Brigham Young say that god was once a man who became a god? I just don't understand.. Prophets say one thing and Mormon people say another....
jeannabrewer 1 year ago
@jeannabrewer It's more like the prophets say one thing and then the people accept it, realize that's predominantly tangential to our lives here, and continue on with their lives with the knowledge that there are far more important aspects of following Christ to worry about. His claim that the Book of Mormon teaches about more than one god tells me that he hasn't done any actual research, he's just regurgitating the same claims that have been spouted for 150 years
h00pla434 1 year ago
@h00pla434 There are "far more important aspects of following Christ", thats why I have so much trouble with the church. Church comes first. Every time a testimony is shared it starts with "I believe this is the true church because....." Instead of praising God. When I hear general conference too, I just get this feeling in my gut that it's not right. So I do research to find out what claims are true and what are not. People can't lie in the name of Christ because it ruins his message.
jeannabrewer 1 year ago
@h00pla434 Your right, I did make a generalization, based upon every Mormon I know, and I know a lot. I live in Utah and am married to a former member of the LDS church. I just don't know why anyone would, knowing ALL church history, willingly join the church. I don't know why anyone who questions what goes on in the church would stay, other then out of fear.
jeannabrewer 1 year ago
@jeannabrewer You know a lot of Mormons compared to the 17 million that are out there? And not to mention that you know Utah Mormons, which is like saying you know all about Americans because you know a lot of Texans. And if you're going to make that kind of claim about the LDS church, I question why you would choose to be a Christian at all given all the sordid acts carried out in the name of Christ if you know ALL the history of Christendom.
h00pla434 1 year ago
@h00pla434 But what about the lack of any archeological, genetic, or geographic proof to support the stories in the book of mormon? Why do so many BYU professors who seek to prove the book of mormon true end up leaving the faith? I mean faith is not based on science by any means, but the bible can at least be traced back to real people, real cities, and real historical events.. Take a look at the youtube video the Bible vs. the book of mormon, or The Case for Christ videos.

apologeticsman 1 year ago
@apologeticsman the problem is that you want Matthew 11:13 to say the following
"For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John and there will be no more prophecies and prophets after John."
It simply does NOT say that. Please learn to take the scriptures for what they say, NOT for what you want them to say.
omiolo 1 year ago
@omiolo it says until, therefore it means until. Maybe English is not your first language, maybe it is, but you should know what the word until means. I want the scriptures to say whatever they say, and I am not threatened when they say something that contradicts the doctrines of whatever church body I associate with. God's word is a teacher, so please learn from it.

In an interview, President Uchtdorf spoke of a Ukrainian tradition of welcoming visitors with bread and salt. "If you come down to the weightier matters, to things that matter most, the temple is where you get your bread and salt, and you can live on that for a long time. This is the spiritual food that these people will receive.
omiolo 1 year ago

BiblesAndBarbells51 1 year ago
@BiblesAndBarbells51 now you are playing even more games.

To shy from doctrine and fact is to deny the faith. To be ignorant of them, is not an excuse. Go away, read a book, and come back when you're older.
BiblesAndBarbells51 1 year ago

Prophets and apostles said it is.

do you even know where LDS doctrine is contained? An ANTImormon would NOT know an actual LDS person would.
WAITING....

@omiolo I extended the first invitation. I will wait for your response before I start playing a cat and mouse game if that is where you want to go.
BiblesAndBarbells51 1 year ago
Is it not a simple response? Wouldn't a "true" member such as yourself have some reference point as to where such an "errant" doctrine would be refuted? I mean, if we take the time to refute the Adam God Theory, I would surely think that one of our authorities would have taken the time to quell such a "crazy" doctrine. Again, I extended the first invitation, that is, to cite where it says that men becoming Gods is not true. And from where God came if He was not a man before.... "WAITING".
BiblesAndBarbells51 1 year ago
@BiblesAndBarbells51 STILL not going to answer that are you? Obviously if your presence on youtube is based on DECEIT, then how can we have an HONEST discussion? WAITING......
