  • Is this workout supposed to work various parts of the legs/calves? It seems like all the exercises done are pretty much the same and by "same" I mean the same kind of motion. Or is this routine supposed to add variation so you don't get bored doing the same thing or use the same machine?

  • Dang, yesterday I did the 100 bodyweight calf raises in the shower, and now a day later, my calfs are freaking sore! Too bad I can't do most of those workouts, since I do not have access to those workout machines, because I workout at home. I will make sure to do more calf raises, as well as weighted ones!

  • Do you have any stretch marks, due to muscle building ? Do a video on it please

  • @pedritooo09 Without the use of anabolics you can't possibly put on muscle fast enough to cause stretch marks. At least if you have healthy skin. If you are vitamin E deficient to might have weak skin, but even then I'd personally doubt it. Question - do these "stretch marks" appear and then heal in a matter of days?

  • @pedritooo09 Weird. Are you really low body fat? Because I've never met anyone who gained more than 5 lbs of muscle per month and if you look at a 5lb pack of meat, and spread that over the body it just isn't very much actual volume. If you are on a bulking diet and gaining 50/50 fat and muscle and gained 10lbs then I could see it.

  • @MichaelnChristine I think I'm an ectomorph, and I started lifting about two months ago. as you know it the beginning muscle builds fast, I've built about 2kg of muscle in those 2 months, and then this shit started appearing in my back, I hate it ! ps:sorry the bad english, im portuguese

  • @pedritooo09 Your English is better than most American's! :) 1kg per month or about 2lbs per month or about .5lbs per week. That's not huge gains. I'm not sayin' you shouldn't be proud etc... just sayin go look at 2kg of meat and now picture that spread across your whole body. If you are bulking did you gain more than 50% fat? Also...you a big veggie/fruit eater? If you aren't getting the vitamins etc in...your skin won't have good elasticity and will break easy. Good fats + veg and fruit

  • Hey, this will get me bigger calves? I have skinny calves and they do not seem to respond well to training.

  • @eduardoq011 it depends a LOt on genetics as well. but guaranteed you'll get more trained calves, not everyone can get them big though

  • Scott - whats the difference between doing calf raises on the seated machine and the leg press?

  • @GymMonkey666 not too much of a difference.... but on the leg press more of the wight is directly above you and you have to flex more muscles in your legs to keep the slight bend in your knees :)

  • Hey Scott. It seems like you're doing higher repetitions on most of these exercises, but that doesn't make sense to me. Your calves are use to thousands of reps daily because you walk on them all day, so I would think it'd be more effective to do higher weight and less repetitions to really SHOCK them into growing? What do you think? :)

  • @oldskoolrap69 yes and no... because the muscles are so dense it will take MORE reps to break them down. However, it is still advised to do some of the same exercises with HEAVY weight!

  • Guys be careful with working out your calf muscles. If you do it too hard too soon you will get Achilles tendonitis and trust me it isn't fun. Especially when it turns chronic.

  • Hey Scott when I work out I try to change at least one thing compared to my last session. Is it too often to change every time you work out the same body part?

  • Calves are 90% genetic and almost not worth the effort. Look at soccer players / tennis players who are on their legs constantly training. Some have great legs while others look like sticks.

  • do you think if i hold some weights in my hands while i do standing calf raises and do less than 100 reps ( like 60-80) is the same thing?

    i ask because i did this once .. so i wanted to know which one is better
