  • ROMA AETERNA

  • Good Sir in what movie is 3:40?

  • Roma Victor is a modern misconception of Rome Victorious...properly it should say Roma Victrix. Otherwise a good video

  • The Romans had no marching music :3

  • @RoyalPrussian

They had, however it was far more rudimentary.

  • Where is the music from in the first part? Ben-Hur?

  • @amcelt60 Ben-Hur.

  • Bella musica.

  • Romaioi Barbaroi

  • @MrHariwulfaz the Destiny of Rome

  • @CroPETROforever Is Destiny of Rome any good? I really enjoyed HBO's Rome!

  • only a people can boast of having defeated the Romans, the Germans

  • @baalmolch really? what about HUNS?

  • @Oyrad58 they defeat a weak and old rome germans is only ppl have defeat rome in the gold age.

  • @baalmolch sorry but, Huns were the true destroyer of the romans. they made domino effect against rome. they pushed the tribes against rome. also Huns were most ferocious enemy of the romans.

  • @baalmolch right but i say again germans is only one defeat rome in max power i'm not german i'm italian.

  • what was the movie of the last footage?

  • I meant "good" not "gut"

  • #CUTE Cool video! Thanks for sharing! #FTW

  • All thos romans are marching straight into their death

  • I see you incorporated the Triarii into this clip.I find it to be anachronic, since the Triarii are a corp of units seen only in the armies of the early to mid/late Roman Republic. They were no more when the military reforms of Gaius Marius came to pass, and that was well before the age of the Princeps' and the Dominus'.

  • I never really liked the roman empire but this is kinda good!

  • really nice. I love how it incorporates all the latest movie and documentary footage into a single montage. I must say, I never realized in watching each movie/doc separately how overrated the testudo really is. haha. Seriously, it's time for someone to create an orbis or wedge or something.

  • @legioXXXtraiana thank you :D

  • @legioXXXtraiana testudo is gut against arrows and smaller stones but not much else, as it sacrifices lot of mobility and entire offensive power for additional protection

  • @legioXXXtraiana it is not overrated, it is overused. And used where it was certainly never used - it was for protection from arrows when you had to dig a hole in enemy walls or get near walls (it protected from 3 sides and from top) but not much more. Phalanx, manipule, cohort and wedge formations were much more used (phalanx formation was formed by getting manipules from 2nd row into spaces between manipules forming 1st row)

  • @Picard578 right. As I said, it's time for mov ie and documentary people to show us how a maniple was switched out in battle (the producers of HBOs "ROME" had a good start by showing the rotation of troops from the frontline within a century), how a phalanx was organized and how it looked in battle and other formations of ancient armies (a cantabrian circle, a Roman orbis, the triplex acies. All we see are the same old boxy testudos....

  • Good job makes me remember my roman ancestors :)

  • Great presentation of the Roman technique of war.

    Ave Caesar.

  • ROMA VICTORIOUS!

  • Keep up the good work buddy... ;)

  • good good video =)

  • @Luiszxc9999 thx :)
