I want a lot of replies to show to him that solo players or orchestra get way more money than band or trumpet solos. he's being an ass about it saying orchestra a piece of shit. but one day i will show him that orchestra is way better. i want him to get a contract to be a trumpet soloist and get tons of money playing it.
making backing track will take sometime though - i'm having problems hearing guitar part from 1.32 . . . but i'll start working on it soon . so maybe sometime after newyear i will get the work done and will give it a try. I'd say I'm sorry to burst the egos of some, but I'm not. Folks, this performance IS LIVE! There is no playback being used. Anybody who thinks nobody can play like this while dancing should go to a live Celtic Woman concert because I've watched Mairead live twice, and her performance leaves this looking TAME by comparison. Just because a couple of amateur egos can't do it, doesn't mean that nobody with real talent can!
And to clarify, one of those concerts I had a front row seat, I was literally a few feet from Mairead at times, and I could hear the sound of her violin live then hear it coming from the speakers a split second later.
You know what's the most annoying, though? It's how a few people just decide to tear apart the work others do just to make themselves seem important, instead of just letting people enjoy a great clip!

I too have seen Mairead play and she can leave you safisfied with her music and yet exhausted from just watching her dance around !! If they weren't hooked up no one would hear a single note. You actually can fake the violin. Obviously that's not what they're doing here because they're proffesional players, but Daniel Bruhl faked to Joshua Bell's playing in
"Ladies in Lavender" so it's possible. And they are hooked up with mics on the violins.
Electric violins or standard ones doesn't really matter that much. It's the talent of the artists playing them that brings the instruments to life. In fact, Mairead plays just as energetically with her "baby" which is what she calls the 300 yr old Matthias Alban violin she plays normally, including in EVERY Celtic Woman concert. Even a standard violin can have a microphone attached to it
because nesbitt stopped before the other chick you should really pay close attention next time. you cant fake play the violin when ever the bow touches the string and you move the bow it makes noise.
Yes taht is Mairead from Celtic Woman. Isn't she great and yes they are playing, FOR REAL. If you have only taken lessons for 6 years, just think of what you can do when you've taken lesson's most of your life. I have taken lessons since I was in 3rd grade and I'm now 23 and still play. When your good like these two are, you can stand on your head and play.

are you sure the guitars and drums arent coming from behind stage??? im sure that just because you cant see the drums or guitars doesnt mean that they arent there
if you check "siamsa" which is another dance in the show, you can that there is a drummer on top of one of the stage things. It is possible that some stuff is pre recorded but from what ive seen of the show, the more important intruments such as violins and guitars and drums and so on are actually live but i think that some other stuff is pre recorded or synthesized
1st, you can hear the echo of the violins in strings of fire. It actually sounds like it is being played in an auditorium.
2nd, in strings of fire there finger and bow movements are actually matching the song being played. For example, in dueling violins, the very very very end of the song, they are playing 2 notes, but we only hear one. And also in the beginning slow part, there vibrato, and fingers are slightly off.
3rd, I don't know if you will count this point but, in strings of fire they are certainly moving around a lot less, there more focused on playing. However in dueling violins there moving around like they have a rat crawling up there leg.
4th, in strings of fire through most of the performance, both fiddlers eye/ look at there violins from time to time, I know I do when I play. And in dueling violins they look at there violins once maybe twice (excluding the beginning.)
There's a lot more concentration in strings of fire.
5th, in strings of fire, the sound produced from the violin is harsh, rich, organic, unaltered, giving the sound a live quality. While in dueling violins, it sounds to perfect, altered, and cleaned up. It sounds way over produced.
6th, I can play dueling violins on fiddle. I know how it actually sounds.
Btw, don't get me wrong. Mairead nesbitt is my favorite fiddler of all time, I think she's amazing. And I love both lord of the dance, and feet of flames, I think the shows are awesome. I just feel strongly that dueling violins is a prerecorded track.

I've met Cora and Breda last year around Christmas. They performed in front of, say, 100 people, maybe 150.
no strings attached, no electronics, no loudspeaker. unplugged so to speak. and they sound like this.
