  • Very good. But the song I believe is intended with up strums on E minor and so on... Gives it the off beat like the song if you listen carefully. Well done tho

  • I am questioning where the offending forms of remarks are.

  • hello. you are very good and i find your videos helpful but there is one problem.i need help tuning my guitar. now i have never played a guitar before but i really wanna learn. so if you could please make a video for me showing how to tune my guitar to play this specific song

  • I find this a helpful lesson thanks

  • I'm a lefty - after seeing this I have just bought my first guitar - this is the first tune I've learned - THANKS!

  • thank you so much!!

  • I've only been playing for less than a year and can already play a few songs thanks to your easy to follow lessons. Great for when people ask me to play them a song. They're impressed!! Your lessons really do fast track learning. Thank you.

  • Thanks, you've made it so simple as I am lefty too. I have just started playing! Great upload!

  • really simple, cheers mate!

  • @Megabytings stop TALKING LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @jakewidsrocks umad?

  • @Megabytings i just dont like people who talk funny im ok noqw

  • Has anyone told you that you sound like Shrek? sorry I just had to... I've tried to imitate that accent, but with an Australian accent, its hard... but thanks heaps for the lesson ay i know how to play it now ^_^

  • amazing :D i just got my new acoustic guitar and this is the first song ive learnt! :D thanks!

  • this is not the best version man.

  • Thank you! That was one of the most helpful videos I've seen.

  • i love you thishelps a lot

  • I'm really thankful! this is a great tuto

  • Thank you!

  • that song is soo easy to play!!! i cannot belive theres only 2 chords in the whole song

, but in the actual song i can here palm muting once you played the chord

  • Thanks! This song is really easy to play!

  • Do you advocate the use of surgical spirt on the chord finger tips or is there an easier way? I've only been playing for a few minutes and my finger tips are really stinging!! HA HA!

  • You are brilliant!! I've been struggling with my left hand strumming for over a year now on this song and can manage the chords(sort of) and you've just explained it perfectly for me!! I am such an idiot when it comes to the left handed guitar, but I feel as if I might make some headway with your lesson here. Thank you so much. XX

  • Cool :) I was taught with a righty :O

  • Very helpful! Thanks so much!!! :-)

  • How do I decrease the "buzzing"?

  • @BartS4177

    press the string harder

  • is he strumming it right?? i saw some other videos and they're different!

  • Thank you sir!...for me as a lefty its alot easier to follow along with you and not have to transpose

  • Go to my kickstartguitar website there are over 200 video lessons there. Register for the free series. Thanks, John S

  • Great Clip Thanx For This an Old Favourite of Mine From When My Late Friend [Bill Ridge] First Sang It To Me Back In 92!

  • when you play your up strokes, start at what string?

  • love it

  • i need help...

i want to get an electric guitar...

is it ok to buy a right handed one and reverse the strings and play it upside down?

    please help! thanks

  • @IrishJohnBoy91 yes i did that with a lefty strat but why not just buy a lefty?

  • @nickrulez809765

i cant seem to find a lefty guitar anywhere! lol and any i do find are very expensive!

    thanks for the help =)

  • @IrishJohnBoy91 I'm left handed to man and I play with the right handed. It's all the same just hard at the beginning is all. But only for a week or so. Think about it man go right handed that way you dont need to have your own guitar all the time. At a mates or party you can just pick up a guitar no hassel. You could go Jimi Hendrix style and turn string upsided down. But it wont look or feel right.

  • is it not uncomfortable the other way around

  • @celtagas its a little strange at first but after about 3 days of playing you get used to it plus it looks pretty damn cool

  • its not uncomfertable if you start with a left handed guitar ......

  • Hendrix did it ! I have never found a problem buying left hand guitars. I have 6 two acoustic, one electric acoustic and three electric. THey are always on ebay same price as right hand. Thanks, John S

  • @IrishJohnBoy91

if you are beginning to play guitar it isn´t relevant to learn left - handed course both hands are untrained.

Sorry for myanswer if you are no beginner ;D

  • @IrishJohnBoy91 if you buy a right handed one i dont think you need to reverse the strings o.o

  • @IrishJohnBoy91 kurt cobain also did that

  • Now if it were only that easy on the bass...ugh

  • THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH!

You are awesome. You have taught me my first song. 5 Stars and Subbing. THANKS!

  • Nice lesson, i jsut started learning today

  • i'm a lefty and i just play a right hand guitar. took me a day to get used to holding it but it works.

  • Awesome video, helped a lot.

  • Great vid I agree with kenlay you make the struming make sense

  • Great lesson. Thank you. Looking for the solo...

  • Q: Ok what chords are there?

A: I wrote them, here you are

Q: you forgot y from Dadd

    A:???

  • weird that if I just fingerpick the upstrokes on the D chord thingy they sound yucky, but with a pick they sound good o0

  • Very helpful!

  • Wow, that was a lot better than I thought it would be!

  • Been playing guitar for a year. Have never really understood the strumming pattern to this simple song...until now. Great lesson.

  • Isn't that Dadd6add9 an A7sus2?

  • go lefty's

  • First day playing guitar and I can already do this song.

  • so is he holding the guitar upside down?

  • Nope, He's left handed.

  • oh can i ask that if i buy a right handed guitar, is it possible if i alter it to a left handed guitar?

  • Just change the string order?

  • yup can i? coz i heard not all guitar can be able to change.. not really sue..

  • I don't know, the guitar I have is the same on both sides, just changing the string order is possible here.

  • ok thanks.. coz i wanna learn acoustic guitar.. Thanks!

  • You can also use a normal right handed guitar if you're left handed, it just requires a bit more practice.

It will enable you to use your right hand better too.

  • Dude, you just have to invert the strings. :)

  • I have been playing Guitar for 6 Years, and i have Always inspired this Song "Horse With No Name". Thank you for posting it here, because i thought there were something wrong with my tuning until i found this Video :) Thank you again :)

    you teach guitar very well.

im a beginner and i have confidence now

cuz i got it so quickly. :)

    thanks again.

  • I had actually picked my my first guitar tonight and have been practicing your song for about 3hrs now. My fingers hurt and they keep leaning on other strings (especially in change over) and it makes a vibrating yuck noise. Very annoying. Thanks for a lesson, will keep practicing, cheers heaps. Bridget - New Zealand.

  • Dont give up i have been playing about 6 months now and I had exactly same problem for a week or so. Your fingertips will feel weird tomorrow like constant pins and needles in them. But you will start to get your first callouses and then wham no more fret buzz and you can show them off to non guitar players at how dedicated you are ! good luck its a great hobby and I got my first electric recently , I really got the bug now this guy is a great teacher and youtube is brilliant for learning .

  • try to get your fingers closer to the metal fret bars

  • how many hands you got?

  • Thank you so much for this detailed lesson!

It helped me a lot! :)

  • thanks mate, just got my first ever guitar today and can already play it :)

    practise practise practice...

  • No wonder I thought I was losing it...he's left handed...WTF?

  • Did you know that there are so many famous lefties? Kurt Cobain, Beethoven, Paul McCartney, Dick Dale, :D

  • yea those ppl are fine but you forgot the 1 lefty that counts hendrix

  • did u know, on his first guitar he took all the strings of and put them the right way because he couldnt afford a left handed guitar

  • Im left handed, I gave up and ive been playing right handed for over a year now.

  • best video on horse with no name for BEGINNERS on youtube. thank you

  • I am very sorry, but a left-handed makes me also uneasy. I had a lefthanded student once..it drove me crazy!..,

  • How do you think we lefthanders feel living in a right hand world !

  • I dont blame you.

  • Great vid, but it makes me uncomfortable to watch a lefty. So I got a little mirror and .... ..lol.

    Also I learned it

    Em DD DUDU

    D+9 DUDU UDU

BUT REALLY LOVE THE PART WHERE YOU ADD PICKING. Awesome.

    Dadd6add9: down-up-down-up-*up-up-down-up

    * littl break here,

I know America is playing the Dadd6add9 different although this is how I learned it.

But still I also like yours :)

    Sorry for bad English

  • Hi Thank you very much, you explain very easy and that's good for me!

  • Thanks for this. Took about 15 minutes for me to learn this!! The strumming tips you give about hitting the bass string solely first as your down strum is exactly the part I couldn't figure out by simply reading the chords! Thanks!!
