  • Is that an accordian being played?

  • haunting and beautiful

    such a wonderful piece

  • Triachnid didn't introduce me to this damn song. Fate did.

  • Triachnid introduced me to this work of art.

  • STUPID

  • nOT LONG ENOUGH!!!!

  • This song is so beautiful! And it makes me fly to Paris...

  • @superjay42 I believe you are correct. Very sad situation indeed. The music was not "made for" the game Triachnid, but it was used for it. Written for band member Mark's late wife. That is why it is so hauntingly beautiful. There are also other tracks on the album such as "Lauren's Lullabye" and "Empire of Light" that are directed toward her.

  • ok, I like the song. but the video was creepy...those eyes... o.o so freaky. lol

  • Is there a HQ version around? Such a wonderful piece deserves better quality...

  • sad music :'(

  • WHO AGREES THAT LISTENING TO THIS SONG MAKES THEM WANT TO CRY THUMBS UP :'(

  • nice tuba

  • 0:39 the thing of nightmares

  • Sounds like Yann Tierssen:) really smooth song. love it!

  • T_T

  • i love how the highest rated comment are about how its from tri achnid xD

  • beautiful music

  • dude she looks like a bad acid trip lol

  • I saw the picture of the chick with eyes before I clicked the video, and scrolled down to the comments before I watched the video so I wouldn't see them again. SCARY!

  • Wtf? Its Özil from Real Madrid!

  • Just FYI ... the video was made for a music video contest put on by THT and Ropeadope records and has nothing to do with triachnid. It was also my thesis video in college and had a short festival run but did make it to the Cannes Film Fest in 05. Also I've cut my hair and grown it back since

  • God I loved Tri-achnid. It's so sad that Edmund doesn't seems to support it anymore. I'm glad for Meat Boy though.

  • Este video me da miedo!! :O

  • Those eyes were kind of disturbing.

  • Exclusively modern creative chamber music! Great videoclip

  • somebody explain me why everytime i hear it i want to cry :(... tri-arachnid was absolutely wonderful and meanigfull.

  • i heard them first in triachnid. now i have almost of their albums. their music is fucking beautiful

  • Simply Brilliant ! Makes you wonder what the outside of this thing really looks like...

  • Never hear of Tin Hat Trio before until I played Tri-achnid on Newgrounds.

    They make amazing music.

  • Wow, heavy. I saw this group on their tour for 'The Sad Machinery of Spring' album in 07 and told the guitarist about the game 'Triachnid' in conversation with him. I hope he checked out the game, this music suits it quite well. Great vid to!

  • this song is great when its late like 4am and you are taking a walk, no cars, no people, just completely alone at night, really fits

  • There is no $ in Tin Hat! :)

  • They took her light...What the hell.

  • @davidsquall351 His, not her.

    They took -his- light

  • Ooops ....lol

  • Play "Tri-achnid" the game is using this song.

  • great

  • hm.. this sounds an awful lot like amelie.

  • these people got huge balls O__O

*ahem* by that i mean their eyes.. damn what were you thinking?

  • perhaps they have metaphoric connotations?

  • Symbolic and haunting! I also love the song - Tin Hat Trio is truly made of win. What disconcerting eyes....

  • Uno de mis grupos favoritos! Amazing song

  • haha

  • So whats the story about the video?

  • I'm not sure about the video, but as I understand it, the music was made for a game called Triachnid and was made to convey the feeling of crushing loneliness, and it does a good job of it

  • Really? That's cool. I bet Edmund and everyone else that worked on this game feels special about it.

  • @Deshara218 I'm not sure where you got the idea that the music was made for that game. The music is from Tin Hat Trio's 2005 album Book of Silk, and the game was released in 2006, so I think you are mistaken there. I have not played the game, but it is a great album!

  • @Deshara218 FWIW - this song wasn't written for the game, but for Tin Hat's 2004 album "Book of Silk." I believe this piece deals with the grief and sorrow from the tragic death of guitarist Mark Orton's wife Lauren, who passed away in an accident right before Tin Hat recorded this album. (I haven't played Triachnid myself, but I'm very happy to hear that it uses Tin Hat's music!)

  • @Deshara218 I heard that the piece was written after one of the band member's wife died...

  • @Deshara218 The music was not made specifically for Triachnid.

  • ah this song is worthy enough to be called ultra vikds epic ^_^

  • ma questi sn dei mostri di bravura

  • Does anyone know what the other two songs from the game are called?

  • One is March of the Smallest Feet, also by Tin Hat Trio. This is the song that plays like, 2nd level and onwards. I do not remember a third song, but I will play it again and check it out.

  • Thanks

  • Wait, I've found it, It's called "Company"

  • what game? (yeah i know its 6 months old lol, i just love this band and song and cant imagine it as video game music...)

  • @cronousplayer try the song Old World. Not on Youtube though...

  • @DaBakerOfCake

second is, like cronousplayer said, March of the Smallest Feet. The one playing in minigame is Company, also by Tin Hat Trio

  • @DaBakerOfCake The other song you were after is ''Company'' also by Tin Hat (:

  • Stunning.

  • To all of those who heard the song in the game: Tin Hat (Trio) has quite consistently been producing amazing music. "Helium" and "Book of Silk" are particularly strong albums and offer plenty of tracks better than this one IMHO. Highly recommended.

  • I know this song from the flash game Tri-achnid... the song is awesome and fits perfectly to the game's sad and lonely theme.

  • 0:44 is scary

  • For some context: This song (and supposedly the entire Book of Silk album) is centered around the death of Mark Orton's (guitar/etc) wife Lauren, and the overwhelming grief and loss that surrounded her passing. (See also "Lauren's Lullaby" from this same album, a poignant and moving farewell to her.)

I've always felt that "The Longest Night" conveys the feelings of that first evening without her - sharp, bitter emptiness; shock, unbelievable pain. A dirge and lament.

  • hey thanks for the informative comment. Been a tin hat fan ever since The Rodeo Eroded.

  • Very good song, Tin Hat Trio sure knows how to make a good song.

  • The tuba part just after the 2 minute mark is divine.

  • I know!!! I can listen to that part over and over again and not get tired!

  • yeah, that part makes me tingle

  • Wow...what an interesting and intriging story...Thank you!!! Really beautiful.

  • Wow what a beautiful song. Would be great for many movie situations@

  • Anyone think this song sounds a little like Gnossienne #3? By Erik Satie?

  • amO esta cancion.

    ::)

  • i love this music. it is chilling and creepy, yet it is really good.

the video kinda freaks me out a bit.

  • this song is in triarchid

  • @funnyslydog I want to know why that game was never continued.

  • @Phelan666 meant to be a second one if they ever complete it P^:

  • Both the music and the video are extremely haunting. I love it.

  • true, true

  • Calisse que t'est laid! Est-ce que ta mère t'as chié? T'as une tête qui donnerait des cauchemars à Freddie Kruger

  • Pretty gloomy. I like it!

  • так видит мир человек с дефектом зрения. В его сетчатке отсутствуют "палочки"..

  • So sees the world the person with defect of sight. In its retina there are no "sticks"..

  • спасибо)

  • Heard this song from Triachnid and I have been hunting it down trying to find it. Thanks for putting it up. *thumbs up*

  • This is my absolute favourite song. Truly beautiful. I wish could play it on piano. That style of music is amazingly nice to listen to.

  • I wish I could play the piano (lol!)

I wish I could play the violin part, as well.

  • wtf??? is this? from tri-arachnid? i just found the game after 2-3 years i ever play it and i was triyng to find it cz of the song OMG am tearing now i hear it TT :') yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa i find it

  • I love this song, because it was from Triachnid, and i love that game lol such a sad song if you just sit and listen with you eyes closed and ignore everything around you, makes you think about stuff if ya know what i mean...

  • Oh snap, I remember this one. It got taken down a while ago. I remember wondering why they used the bug-eyed computer-animated characters, but you say the visuals are from a video game?

Love the tune -- thanks for putting this back up. Good memories.

  • I simply feel obliged to replace the missing memories. As for the visuals, no they are not from a video game. I just discovered this song through playing the video game Triachnid (sorry if this confused you).

  • Gee, I REALLY wish that there was an option to automatically play a track when visiting the user's channel. I would put this up there ^^. How soothing the melody, how beautiful the harmony, and how glorious the song...

  • I think there is an option to automatically play the video

  • I think I've seen that somewhere... any ideas how?

  • i think you must be a partner of youtube get alot of subscribers first

  • ok... I would like to thank all the 7 raters who gave it 5/5. THANK YOU, MY FANS!

  • Beautiful, slightly unsettling song. It has a dark yet peaceful feel to it. Amazing.

  • simply amazing

it gets me to another place..

    thanks for uploading this, really!

  • so.. beautiful... gives me shivers every time I hear it...

  • i know.. I absolutely love this song... found it when I was playing Triachnid... i posted this video because there was not an actual video for this song on YouTube!

  • Actually, I think there WAS a video like this on YT...but I can't seem to find it now. I like this song too, so when I felt like hearing it again, I ended up here instead of the other video.

  • Ahaha, I found it playing Triachnid too xD

What a great find it was too...

  • that's completely true, isn't it!?
