Male driver ants are big- I don't know if they exceed Dinoponera in size or not. I'm not the family ant expert, but I asked and found out that there are Eciton queens that get huge when they're in their egg-laying state. Also, Dinoponera don't have majors or minors. The ant in here was a real beauty, and it was a thrill to see her. I remember thinking she was the Rolls-Royce of the ant world. Thanks for the comments.

Wikipedia states ants can be up to two inches, but I don't know what species gets that big or what caste it is.

What is weight of this species compared to the 40MM long red Australian bulldog ant? I think you'd find it's LESS. Not the biggest by weight; compare size of jaws on both species.
