I think AI is a great player but how on earth was he unable to do anything with melo and camby.simple answer is defence... You look at the defensive teams since the 99-00 season and kobe has been in the first and second teams every year except for 04-05. Now i know camby is no where near as a offensive threat as shaq was but im sure with a bit of commitment that teams defence couldve been improved and a tough defence together with their run a gun offence would have easily got them into finals.

Ok well the way i see it is that the 1st and 2nd D teams don't discriminate when it comes to players playing 1 or 2 guard eg. payton and kidd in 00-01 and 01-02 so in that case there has been 4spots each year(2 in first 2 in 2nd) for him to fill but he has not once done that in his 12 year career which he hasn't. Kobe is in the same category and he has made it as many times as i said before. Perhaps the selectors look abit further than just steals when choosing teams?

Well maybe, but you did help my arguement by naming some at A.I.s position, but you still didnt name any at Kobes. A.I. is only looked at each year as a 1 guard and there are a lot of primary defensive 1 guards in the league each year, and not 2 guards. So since Kobe is such a great defender, if he was to be moved to the 3, could he really honestly defend there. His real test was with Gilbert Arenas, and yes he scorched him. Only thing Kobe could do was score on him back to nullify him.
