Your clips are great! All of us who have read the book can tell their relevance to the plot. The problem is that those who haven't read the book can't put them together. There might be better clips, there might not be. The key I think is to add some narration. This girls clips (see below) aren't half as good as yours... but her narration helps people get a bit of the story. Use your clips (and more)... and tie them together like the mistborn trailer by aimeeblakeney (here on youtube)

I have no idea what Mistborn is about, and I still don't. Outside of your cliched supers at the beginning, there is little cohesion in the sequence of shots which makes it tough to see any plot elements, and what's even worse is that the shots you've chosen seen anachronistic at times.
A good trailer will hook somebody who is ignorant of the property while giving bits and pieces of the plot to relate a bit of the overall narrative.
@Maytag818 He had to use footage from other movies... It'd be different if this was a legit trailer for the actual movie, because then the scenes would make perfect sense. I can get a rough sense of the book from this, and considering it's fanmade, it's decent.
@pointshootPost lol you totally missed the point. This is a "fan made" trailer. There IS NO actual Mistborn movie! There is no actual footage to make a real trailer with. As far as fan trailers go, this one is pretty good. Not the best I've seen (check out some of the best Ender's Game ones linked from hatrack.com) but definitely a lot better than anything I could have come up with.
This is really incredible. How long did it take you just to plan out who you wanted and where you were going to draw your clips from? Your hard work definitely shows!

Pretty much everything matches with the movie and I can imagine it being a true movie....The only part that didn't really match up was the disk blades at 0.59 seconds...

When I was reading the trilogy, I thought that would be awesome to watch a movie - all of those Allomancers fights are just asking for being filmed.
Well, after watching this, I want it even more ;]
I hope that someone will come up with such an idea soon!

@Liambnet I think they were more to represent an Allomancer who is pushing coins or weapons at someone else than someone throwing disc blades.
