it's amazing to me how perfectly the composers of the baroque era weave the voices in their musical works. Correct polyphonic texture for Baroque music is tough to create given the rules behind composition and how to develop voices for the piece overall. In this work, for example, by Telemann, each voice seems to state exactly what it needs to, and at exactly the right time...This perfect accuracy, precision, and development is what makes this music the highest caliber in my opinion,
@WhiteSpatula Oh yes, agreed. Foregrounds the thematic stuff nicely, and lets you see the "living" note as it swells/decays, in commensurate time. Detached, self-contained circle gives you a kind of independent dynamic option, maybe -- not only left-right and up-down, but also near-far (= big/little). Very clever.
Did you divide strings and brass between balls and bars? (If you did, which are they?) It's quite unique... It's my first time seeing this sort of mixed version. It's quite lovely. Good work :)
@smalin I think he might be refering to what sounds like a flute. But that wouldn't coincide with the balls and bars as he's describing it. Anyway, on my own topic: what I think I'm hearing are flute, violin, cello, and harpsicord (which I can't spell). Is this right? Thanks for the vid, it was delightful. :)

i really think the style is great! it visualizes the decay of the tone which is really what the baroque bow does (creating a natural decay to the sound)... it's kind of how i see the actual sound in my head if it were pictures flying by instead of little black dots w/ bars and flags on them. haha :-)
thank you for doing all these wonderful videos!!!!!! and thank you for using an actual period group!
I cannot get enough of the tone of that traverso. Pleasant and ever so slightly unusual.

I could never decide if I liked the bars or the spheres better... this hybrid version settled the score. I love them both! Bravo, my good man!

Smalin how long would you say it takes to make one of these videos? (after you have the recording, of course)

Balls and bars... I know this is refined music, but that just seems like a softball for a dirty joke, haha!
Lovely piece.
