  • I guess this is how you pay for a 12 man tent and get a 1 person lean to. Good idea, horrible price point.

  • Thanks for the review. It was helpful because I couldn't find the folded dimensions in the catalog, but the minute I saw the bag here I knew it was WAY to big for backpacking. The quick setup is nice, but I wish I could find one that broke down smaller for carrying on your back. This one would be awesome for camping in places I can drive to though.

  • Date says 2008, but from the look of that TV I would guess circa 1990. How old is that?

  • haha! the cat was all curious then got outta there!

  • wow you took it out of the case set it up got inside got back out closed it up put back in the case under 3 minutes it takes ppl that long just figure out witch way is up on a regular tent lol im getting the kamp-rite one

  • thumbs up if you think the cat was the best part! thanks for the vid!, very good set up and tear down!

  • Looks pretty tight for someone my size - I guess I'll need the double-wide.

  • @CaneFu the double tent cot has a bar down the middle separating it in two - so that won't help

  • I'm not small - 6'1", 225lbs or so - but if you're a lot bigger it might be a problem

  • @kaiser442

I'm the same height but weigh 295 (weightlifter). Thanks for the info, I was thinking about ordering this but maybe I'll wait now and investigate some other options.

  • holy smokes.. 1 minute and 15 seconds setup time, without rushing. Sheesh!!

  • That cat rocks :)

  • yeah buddy iam getting that next week wooohooo been wanting this fro a long time

  • 2:00 the cat gets owned in the face

  • Those things are bitchs to carry

  • That cat is like "WTF is this thing!!!" Cool tent though. I've been thinking about getting one for awhile.

  • that cat is cool

  • The cat was a nice touch.

  • any good during the texas cold weather???

  • I <3 CABELAS!!!!!

  • jajajajaja el gato que susto se pego cuando lo cerro

  • hey thats a good they so i dont have to sleep with my wife wail im out there

  • your own portable coffin. nice

  • i bought one just the other day

this helped me out a lot thank you

  • luv the cat

  • I wonder how the 2-person one is.....

  • Thanks for doing this. It would take up too much space in my car though....

  • that tent is almost bigger than your apartment!

Maybe you should move... say, to the park?

    (save on rent?)

  • the TV program is a little bit boring...

    5*

  • Thanks again for a video which accurately shows just how easy this tent is to set up. The rain fly takes longer to setup than the tent. I camped in 55-60 degree weather and was able to be completely warm and bug free with just a shirt and jeans on. Even down to 50 degrees all I needed was a lightweight sleeping bag or 4 t-shirts. I'd say this tent tends to be quite warm compared to larger tents. Would have had to lose the rain fly if it was warmer. Barely fits folded in my Olds Alero.

  • Thanks. I'm camping tomorrow with this same cot tent. Was wondering how easy it was going to be to setup.

  • I have been wanting one of these for a while...great reviews! Problem is deciding between the Cabelas vs KampRite(both oversize 1 man version). KampRite is about half the weight but does not look near as well built as Cabelas model. Also I can not find the dimensions on the Cabelas one when folded. If you have them it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the demostration! Take care.

  • It's roughly 35"x35"x8.5"

  • thank you sir!

  • how is best sex ever the most related to this video?...anyways, I have the Kamp-Rite tent cot single, is this one better I can see some things I like about it more....4 legs, more support, hard surface to sleep on, kamp rites is only fabric...i'm thinking of just getting a inflatable pad though...support plus hard surface...

  • This one is kind of in-between the Kamp Rite single and oversized. It's about the same size as the oversize, but without the domed roof. It's heavier, though, because the frame is steel and not aluminum.

It does just have a fabric sleeping surface. I got the large Thermarest Basecamp sleeping pad to go with it and it's AWESOME. At first I was dead set against spending $80+ on a tiny air mattress - but it turns out they're really worth every penny.

  • "At first I was dead set against spending $80+ on a tiny air mattress - but it turns out they're really worth every penny." Good tip, I feel the same way. Makes me reconsider it now I guess :( I have the KampRite Deluxe model but havent slept in it yet. The sleeping surface is padded foam, but I still may need a pad to sleep on as well. Cats are so predictable....*sigh*

  • Awesome cot and cute cat!

  • That's a cool cot, where'd you get it?

  • At Cabela's. They have a different version with a domed roof at Academy and Bass Pro as well.

I just got back from a weeklong trip using it and it was great (night temps as low as about 22 degrees F). The only problems were:

    1) condensation from your breath covers the tent roof and it's all wet in the morning

    2) The carry bag didn't hold up well to being strapped to my roof while offroading and ended up with several holes.
