  • 3:09 when he added the treble in the foot pedal!! YESSSSSSSah!!!

  • I heard it takes a decade to fully master the foot pedals of the Hammond! Is that true?

  • I still can't get over these chord progressions. Several augmented and diminished chords, but everything somehow stays in the original construct. In other words, he's flowing all over the place, but it's all still in "the pocket". This is very difficult to accomplish.

  • Yes sir. Haters gonna hate. Very advanced harmony applied correctly. Folks can't censor what's in your head. Play on player.

  • SOUNDS LIKE C.O.G. I. C. ARE YOU. GREAT VERSION YOU DO . CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST MUSCIANS ARE TALENTED. YOU ARE BLESSED BROTHER. I MAY BE WHITE BUT GOD DOESNT CARE ME EITHER. HE LOVES US BOTH. MUSIC MAKES US ONE. GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER. NEVER STOP PLAYING FOR GOD. PEACE OUT. POLYWOG 690 INDIANA ,PA. HOME I. U .P.

  • Excellent chord structure and progressions. Very mellodic!

  • SICK!!!!!!!!!! Til I LOVE IT!!!!

  • Love it i love listening to it all!

  • I WATCH THIS VIDEO AT LEATst 40 or more times and still counting GOD BLESS YOU SIR and THis CHANNEL and that ORGAN to keep Posting . AND GOD MAY ALSO BLESS U CRITICS...."""CHURCH FOLK CRITICS"""" remember If u ont have nothing nice to say then dont. this was a serious entertaining spirit led video that didnt require any negativity dum one at that

  • He did it with such a straight face

  • It's amazing to think the Hammond Organ was once a cost effective substitute for the High Society type Churches. They didn't like the sound. Then Don Leslie came along with his idea of a rotary speaker for the Hammond Organ Company. Many still didn't like the sound. Then Came Billy Preston. Whoo, Glory! He began playing this forsaken instrument much like the artist here on this wonderful solo. The Sound rocked the the Pentecostal world. (Oh, Come on, somebody!) The Rest is history.

  • Absolutely sublime playing!

  • If this isn't church close the doors!! Joey, you're so talented you make me sick, but I'll keep practicing in the mean time. Wish you would post more videos.

  • The last time I checked, we're always called upon to play for a program, a church, a wedding and every other shing ding that's been scraped up! If you have that big of a problem with our gift or style, sing acapella like the Church of Christ! Stop buying the musical tracks! Stop trying to hire us! You'll save the little money you insult our intelligence with! Oh I forgot, our musician jam sessions catch your interest huh? LOL!!

  • I've been a musician for over 40yrs. People talked back in the day, they're talking now as I comment on this site and they will still be talking until the grave catch them. It still hasn't stop me and other musicians from developing our gift and style as you can clearly see on youtube and in your local area.

I don't know this brother but, he has invested a lot of solitude time just like the rest of us. The critics are just hating because they can't controlling our gift and style.

  • wonderful playing. and no, I'm not a hypocrite for the douche bag that see's my other comment

  • @cracklinnut read the description fuckwit

  • have a form of godliness but denies the power thereof. Just because it sounds like "church" and "anointing," does that really mean this is the case? There some scoundrels that sit on organ benches...but a certain sound makes something anointed? Seriously? Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Including MUSIC! If you want to be deep and spooky, start with the Word, not your views.

  • I don't mean any harm; but most people that talk negatively about what a musician does simply can't do what they do. To suggest there being too many chords in the song, understandable if he was playing like this behind a soloist. But he's simply displaying his craft. To insult his intelligence and diligence in his perfecting his craft is rather small minded. Furthermore, it's an ignorant statement to say that it isn't "spiritual" and lacks anointing. Music in church, like many people in it can

  • @HammondB34Me Doc it's almost impossible to educate the youtube critic! Study theory people! God gave us all something different to set us apart from each other. Envy gets you no where! Bless this young man and move on!

  • too slow....too many odd chords

  • Loving it, maay God continue to continue bless you to minister on the organ.

  • there are 5 idiots! :D

  • Very good playing - but sorry, not spiritual, no anointing from above.

  • Those substitutes are too crazy bra!

  • not bad at all. I love the chords that make your face cringe!

  • One of the greatest organist that I have ever shared the platform with.

  • muy lindo .....

  • Oh, yeah!

  • This guy plays for Bishop Paul Morton??

If so Paul Morton is going to be speaking at my church the last week of July.. I just finished restoring a 1963 B3 :)

  • @SubaruB4RSK Yes, he sure does play for Bishop Morton and has for many many years.

  • WHat church is that.?

  • Mr Britton, U are Awesome!!!!!!!!! Keep up the Great Work in God and watch God Favor you!

  • Some great Bill Evins chords there man!!!!!

  • this is a great recording of the Organ.

Somebody needs to put a video up to explain how to record the organ correctly. I would say 99% of the Hammond Recordings on youtube do not capture the sound of the hammond.

  • I grew up with and sang in choir with Joey Britton. Where is he located and what church does he play for. The Choir which we were in was The Rejoice Community Choir. This dude has always been amazing on the organ. This is going back a good 30 years.

  • @whispersd41 i grew up with joey when he played for second eb. in detroit he was amazing.

  • @lemilest

You know that more than likely we know each other. Do you remember the Rejoice Community Choir. Go back,to the 80"s. I also am very familiar with Second Ebenezer with Pastor Vann. I come straight out of the westside of Detroit, but I spent alot of time on the Eastside as well

  • @lemilest to find out if we know each other, you can go to face book. My name is Craig W Davis. Just remember that was a good 20 years ago which means I have gotten older!!!!!!!!

  • @lemilest HEY JOEY HOLLA AT ME!

  • Its nothing like the sound of a Hammond organ!

  • woah that left hand is a beast !!! love your technique and form. God bless

  • Man I wish I could play the organ so bad. I just love the sound of it!

  • Delicious. Truly an Iron Chef @ the B3. This was truly amazing. Love it, Doc.

  • They surely don't play like this at my church!! Amazing! God Bless

  • wow i wuz truely blessed by this

  • Love the Hammond B3...I'll see you this week for the Morton Brothers Revival...

  • I'm not even religious but I love that sound! WOW!

  • @OLugs You don't need to be man. The B3 truly is one of the greatest instruments of all time. That sound - simply cannot be beaten. The Leslie of course boosts it massively, into that warm, ephemeral sound that just engulfs you. I love this shit

  • Elder...........Very anointed and indeed powerful:

  • beautiful ...no other way of putting it

  • very nice!!!!!!!!

  • this is from Baton Rouge Llouisiana MAN U EXTREMELY GOOD

  • Ohh..side bar...he uses alot of reharm that Keith Newton did in his renditon on the Sir Tez album..check it out if you can!
