  • This is why you have to have at least 1 superstar on your team. You can have all the really good players on your team that you want, but if you don't have 1 superstar, you can't win a championship.

  • This was one my favorite laker combacks in nba history we was down 15 points and we came back and won by 5 points.

  • Here the difference between the 2000 West Final and 2002 West Final. Portland should have won GM 7 but they let the Lakers back into the game by being tentative and not continuing to score. The Kings on the other hand had every chance to win game 6 and 7 if they hit there free throws and not argue with the refs (except game 6 because the game was rigged in the 4th) only 2001 is where the lakers dominated only losing once. I'm just saying in my perspective.

  • lol did shaq say fucking soon 8:57 on live?

  • how many are here due to the lockout???

  • T.O.?

  • @Clegend24 Yup that was T.O. he was a 49er at the time during his 5th yr in the NFL

  • lol at 1:25 that would have been the coolest shot ever!

  • Geriausias Blazers pasirodymas Saboniui zaidziant iki 3 kel galo O'nilo saskaitoj vieni nuliai durnai paleido pergale butu cempionais tape manau...

  • The Blazers lose with class here. A lesson you Lakers can take a look at..

  • 5:02 2 shaq? lol

  • @acenaace bahaha just noticed thattt!!!! ITS BABY SHAQQQQ!!!

  • kobe took over when shaq decided not to step up

  • Look at T.O in the corner at 8:23. Dude always trying to get in the spotlight..

  • I've heard whispers that they might have broke that laker team up in 2000 had they lost to POR in game 7...I don't think they would have, but I've heard that. Any truth to that?

  • @ThaShark316 There's is no truth to that at all. Keep in mind, that was Kobe first year as a year long starter. The Lakers were just getting started.

  • @Legend1One Actually, that's not true. Kobe started 50 out of 50 games in 1998-1999.

  • @hakola95 Wrong. In the strike shorten season, Kobe became the starter near the end of the year heading into the playoffs. It was Dale Harris's final season as coach.

  • @Legend1One First off, it was a lockout, not a strike.

Second, please check your stats. Check Kobe's stats rather than trusting your faulty memory. Notice that his "GS" (Games Started) is the same as his "G" (Games played) for 1998-99. He started 50 out of 50 games that season.

In time, you'll learn not to doubt me.

  • @hakola95 LOL... In time, I'll learn not to doubt you... Good one! Your right on the 50 out of 50 games started, and technically I'm right on the year long/full season as a starter, but I'll lick my wound!

hakokla, are you a Lakers fan?

  • @Legend1One Hey, I wasn't trying to be rude. It's just that I'm a statistics (particularly NBA) junkie.

Right now, I am a Lakers fan. I really didn't become a Lakers fan until 2006, and that was because I began to really admire Kobe Bryant. He's now my third favorite player ever, behind Bird and Olajuwon. Back in 2000, though, I didn't like the Lakers at all and wanted them to lose--probably because back then I hated Shaq. Over time, I've learned to respect both Shaq and that Lakers team.

  • @hakola95 Cool! Me, I'm a Laker4Life. Hope we have a season this year and can get it done once again. And yeah, I said "we." LOL

  • @Legend1One heard kobe might play in turkey

  • @NBAisfixed2002 If push comes to shove, it's every man for himself. The NBA better get a deal done or else alot of guys may be "taking their talents" overseas.

  • @Legend1One and the nfl is about done

  • @NBAisfixed2002 Yeah, we may be foreced to dust off the ole golf clubs this season in sports.

  • @hakola95 who gives a fuck?

  • @ThaShark316 Well, they did shake things up a little. A.C. Green and Glen Rice were gone by the next year, and they added Horace Grant.

  • Bill Walton SMH

  • whoa whoa is that T.O. at 5:16 in the white?

  • the Blazers look scared...lol

  • Portland choked bad in this one.

  • Pippen had 6 rings by this point, he wasn't all that mad, lol

  • @BrentWoodSean38 no no no he wanted to win 1 w/o jordan in the worst way , trust me he was pissed

  • why did harper push Horry at 4:10?

  • @iamcanadianwoo I noticed that too. Inside beef? Weird.

  • if i heard shaq's huddle speech., i don't think i would be that fired up. just his voice saying it.

  • Still can't figure out how the Blazers blew that lead. It was the greatest gift to the Lakers.

  • The worst 4th quarter choke of all time.

  • Lakers did this to Celtics in 2010 Game 7 NBA Finals. Celtics up 11 at halfime lost by 7.

  • Scottie Pippen at around the 5:40 mark has a look on his face that's like "So THIS is what it feels like to be on the other side of one of these." This was the intense, high-pressure type game that his Bulls teams almost always won.

  • @walterlv01 Scottie Pippen actually lost more of these games than you think.

  • 510 phil is happy

  • You could tell there was absolutely no love between Kobe and Shaq, especially from Shaq. What a shame.

  • 4:07 harper shoves horry thinking he is shoving wells, and horry looks at him like wtf? lol

  • I feel bad for the Blazers for not winning. The dominating duo of Kobe and Shaq did them in at the end.

  • 5:01 There's a guy in a Shaq jersey hugging Shaq. Haha!

  • fuck everything about this

  • I loved Rasheed Wallace as a player, especially when he was in his prime. That boy can play!!! But why is he the only player out there congratulating the team like a good sport????

  • this series and series against the kings was rigged. why is david stern up the lakers ass by fixing these games?

  • @ballin7077 I'll give you the kings series but this game was not rigged. If you watch the 4th quarter, it's just a matter of the Lakers making shots and the Blazers missing shots.

  • @Card54k320 Yea, most likely you're right. I'm just goddamn frustrated at the NBA and David Stern for how it seems these games are fixed. The refs always seem to favour the same teams come playoff time. The kings series was appalling and even the Mavs-Heat series was a fucken joke.

  • @ballin7077 well yeah David Stern is a tool.

  • @Card54k320 Yea, lol did you hear what he said about Stan Van Gundy after Stan implied that david stern was a dictator.

  • @ballin7077 Nah what?

  • @Card54k320 Lulz google it. After Dwight howard got suspended, Van Gundy called Stern a dictator and then stern replied afterwards by saying something along the lines of 'he wont be talking again'

  • @Card54k320 Former ref Tim Donaghy said Bavetta like was the go to guy for the NBA. Lakers once again bailed out by the refs.

  • damn mike dunleavy needs a tan

  • 5:01 2 O' Neals?

  • I'd like to know what did Pippen & Kobe say to each other... as they shook hands...

  • was it the playoffs or the finals

  • @sparker456able This was game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.

  • Cutting Brian Shaw and keeping Stacey Augmon back in training camp cost Portland this game.

  • When the Blazers grow up, they want to be like the Lakers.

  • all u ppl that says the lakers didn't deserve to win this game and the blazers were a better team all around if all that's true they asses wouldn't have blown a 16 point lead in the 4th mutha fukken quarter a weak team can't over come something like that but the lakers did so get the fukk ova it

  • damn I feel sorry for Portland fans....

  • 4:12

Horry is like what the fuck

  • @Jussssteeen why did Haper pushed Horry?

  • @Jussssteeen why did Harper pushed Horry?

  • na na na..na na na..hey hey hey goodbye ;D

  • dam, what happen to all that hype at staples center? laker fans should really pull it together in order for us to three-peat. they should all get those gold or purple shirts when cheering, to give that laker pride in it. i mean, it wouldn't hurt to try it again.

  • @Mickeyc333 it's because only rich people can go to there games, and they never love to scream or anything, just clap

  • @Kobesbestfriend dam, then those rich people dont know how to support their team. man, my brother and I are more louder than them in our house lol

  • Mike Dunleavy was so depressed, he never really had a good season after that. The Clippers, man.

  • Big Show: Brian Shaw!

  • Sad

  • Lakers had NO business winning this game or series. Blazers had the better team, but choked as usual. I can't help but wonder that since this game occurred during the era of crookedness...

It's hard to be a Blazers fan... sigh.

    F*CK Brian Shaw.

  • And 10 years later, Sheed loses another Game 7 at Staples Center. Only this one sends him to retirement!

  • @Jiltedin2007

    Yessurrie

  • @ragingbullable How I loved seeing Pau Gasol pushing "Sheed" all over the Staples Center floor in Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals. LAKERS ALL THE WAY!

  • @Jiltedin2007 fuck you you little faggot. how about the time, the pistons fucked the heavily favored lakers in 5 games. bakayarou...

  • @IARE1031 Well I consider this, pure vengeance against Sheed. And besides the 2004 Lakers Team was a team without continuity, that's why Detroit won.

  • @Jiltedin2007 again, you're wrong...rasheed arrived in detroit right before the trade deadline. i don't know when the lakers acquired karl malone and gary payton but they had at least the same amount of time playing as a unit and at best 3-4 more months. so suck it.

  • @Jiltedin2007 the reason the lakers lost is cus that wasn't a team at all...it was a bunch of big egos clashing. it's strange teams are still going for that after the example of the 2004 pistons. the lakers breezed through the playoffs until hitting that wall against detroit. and like i said earlier the team was havily favored to beat detroit. just admit it, they got molested out there.

  • @IARE1031 Shaq said it best in describing the 2004 Lakers. We were like a messed up car. The belts were put on wrong, the Engine was coming apart. And the Lakers did not "Breeze" through the Playoffs. After defeating Houston in 5, then the Lakers lost the first 2 games in San Antonio before defeating them in 6 Games, then they had to go through K.G. and Minnesota in an even tougher 6 Game Series.

Had the Lakers not took Game 1 in Minnesota, the Lakers would not have gone to the Finals.

  • @Jiltedin2007 excuses, excuses...

  • @IARE1031 Whatever happened, happened. It is what it is! So let's not keep going in circles over what happened 7 years ago. And by the way, how did your Piston do in the Playoffs? Oh wait, they didn't make it there. Did they? Just stay in 2004 for as long as you want. As for me, I'm happy right here in 2011.

  • @Jiltedin2007 uh, i never said i was a pistons fan. i just was a fan of rasheed. i followed him since about 98 when jordan left. he just happened to be on the pistons and celts after the blazers. right now i hardly care much about following the league. but you can go suck kobe's dick some more all you want.

  • @IARE1031 No, I am not a Kobe Fan. In fact, my Family hate Kobe.

  • @IARE1031 Oh by the way, you were mentioning earlier about "Egos clashing" when describing the 2004 Lakers, that right there is the true definition of "Lack of Continuity"!

  • @IARE1031 And you want to know something else? Even though I hated Rasheed Wallace in Portland, he gave me an even better reason to despise him. After the Pistons won the 2004 NBA World Championship, Rasheed Wallace was walking around public with a Championship Belt.

What is this, Wrestling? Are we now playing NBA Basketball in a "Squared Circle"? Even though I hate the Spurs more than anyone else in the NBA, I was so very glad to see them beat the Pistons in the 2005 Finals.

  • @Jiltedin2007 But he gets his revenge and his ring in 2004 as the Pistons thrashed the Lakers.

  • @hakola95 Yeah, and he had to be Asshole the following year walking around public with a Championship Belt and running his mouth. That ring in 2004 was in between this game and the 2010 NBA Finals. So who got revenge on who?

  • At 5:16 that dude look like Micheal Jordan from behind the head.

  • I hit my head on a fan when Kobe threw that oop to Shaq lol. I remember this like it was yesterday.

  • IS That TO at 5:17 with the backwards white cap?

  • @rfoster14 I think it is!

  • What a shock another playoff elimination game called in favor of the Lakers at Staples Center to fuel their comeback and win.

The last two fouls on Sabonis are a complete joke

  • @BusBoyIsBack Lol, as if officiating had anything to do with the outcome of that game. The Blazers are responsible for that loss more than the Lakers or the officials.

  • Shaq could have taken a sword and decapitated Arvydas Sabonis on the court and still wouldn't have been called for a foul.

  • @jrzy49 SHAQ himself GOT foULED Quite a lot.

  • i wonder why our crowd doesnt dress like that anymore

  • @MrAznPillow because these were the REAL fans back then! It will never get that loud again!

  • @MrAznPillow to used to winning lol

  • Who are the commentators other to Bill Walton?

  • @MasterThomers Bob Costas & Steve "Snapper" Jones.

  • @Headbanger82688

Thx :D It was Bob Costas i was looking for. It's a shame that he doesn't work as an NBA - sportscaster anymore. I kinda like his voice and his enthusiasm towards big plays.

  • @MasterThomers No problem. Yeah I liked him too. Him & Marv Albert are great.

  • honestly.....this western conference finals intensity and quality is beter than any FINALS for the past few years in the nba......miss that sooo much...right now the lakers vs celtics sorta bring back that feelings

  • Portland would have won its 2nd championship had they met Indiana in the finals instead, and the first champion of the new millennium, but its a good thing Lakers pulled it off, I don't wanna see Scottie Pippen won a title again, and Kobe and LA frustrated Scottie and Portland the next two playoffs, sweeping the blazers, 3-0.

  • stop crying blazer fans, you lost fair and square, only LOSERS come up with stupid excuses.

  • LeBron couldn't make these plays at 21.

  • this was the saddest game ever, porland winning the WHOLE game by no less than 10 points until the last 5minutes f the game, and they gave it up.... i was SOOOO upset...

  • The worst shit in the world. The NBA capitalized on a team that simply had more profitable gain cus who gives a care about the city of Portland. Fucking cheaters!!!

  • @Exile101882 did you see the game? Portland couldn't make a shot for about 8-9 minutes straight in the 4th quarter; they simply gave up playing smart and took silly shots. The Lakers stepped up and had contributions from different players. Besides Portland overachieved against the Lakers in that series, the best team won in the end, it just took some desperation play to get it done.

  • i think this has to be the greatest series of all time wouldn't you'll agree?go lakers baby!great blazer squad that year...

  • I remember watchin this game. It was the same week I graduated high school. I was 18 then. I'm 28 now. Man, 10 years flew

  • kobe won because he had gasol and bynum, the bulls are the only team that won without the big center. Pippen plays 3 and theres no better 3 in nba history. Kobe plays 2 and he will always second against MJ

  • @wazabombo Luc Longley? Will Purdue? Bill Wennington?

  • Bird, Baylor, Dr. J, Barry, Hondo - ALL better than Pippen.

  • this was bullshit, pippen proclaimed he was better than jordan when he retired in 1993, this was the best time for pippen to show he can win a title without mj, he will always be jordans bitch. rick adelman maybe carried bad luck with the kings, i luv rick, but that 2002 wcf was so politics, and the nets lakers finals was the worst in history. at least rasheed won a ring with the pistons and got revenge against the lakers

  • Memories man. I mean I am a Bulls fan so all we had was Elton Brand that yr but I just enjoyed watching any basketball. 1999-2000 was the last great season of the NBA. SInce 2000-01 it got weak and although its getting better since 2007-08, it will never match the golden era of the NBA (1988-2000).

Great Basketball in Summer 2000. Maybe its also because back then I could grab rim and nearly dunk (Im 5'9) where today I can only nick the bottom of the rim on a good day.

  • the blazers suck they gave up brian shaw, what an embarrassment to lose to a bench warmer second stringer, talk about sticking it to portland. u can tell bob costas is biased and is a dick ryder for the lakers, just say u hate the blazers one-sided bitch.

  • i was 16

  • blazers came up short in 91 with magic and dunleavy was coach for la 90-89 in 1991, and 2000 close but no cigar. this is so blazer typical, if u cant win, u get traded like drexler, elie, kersey, rasheed. they are pathetic speaking the truth, paul allen is a shit-head. im from portland. portland blew a 19 pt lead against chicago in 92 finals, blew a 19 pt lead against the spurs in 1999 wcf, and this game 7. its dispicable dunleavy is 0-4 against phil jackson.

  • respecto to that awesome Blazers team, thats why this is one of the best series in the Lakers history!

  • kobe bryant is a franchise player, pippen is garbage, he finally won one ring without shaq, pippen could not even get to the finals without jordan, jordan is the best period, jordan had a bill cartwright, purdue, wennington, and longley, jordan was the meat and the rest of the team were potatoes.

  • 91-93 Title Bulls>>>00-02 Title Lakers. 96-98 Bulls>>>00-02 Lakers.

  • the whole world knows the 90's bulls were better 2009 lakers..>>> 2009 bulls

  • @fatpatlives1998. Yes 90s Bulls>>>than 2009 and 2010 Lakers. 90s Bulls better than 2000-02 Lakers.

  • daaamn!!! right!! 72-10 shows it

  • the 90s bulls were the shit with jordan, pippen acted like he was better than jordan, i remember pippen getting in a fight with phil jackson over whos going to take the winning shot in the 1994 playoffs against new york when kukoc hit the game winner.

  • @omhat Hey man I agree that Jordan was the greatest ever but don't trash Pippen like that. Toward the end of his run with the Bulls he was starting to have major back problems and I don't think he was able to play on the same level as he had before. Jordan's year away Pippen really stepped up. I think he led them to 55 wins after Jordan left. During the title years Pip averaged over 20 ppg and was the whole time the greatest perimeter defender of all time

  • I remember watching this at age 8 with my dad. When Shaw caught that alley oop from Bryant I went absolutely nuts.

  • what did the crowd sing?it seemed sth like gd bye~

  • @lebronkobe123 Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey Hey, Goodbye,

  • HIGH DEFINITION MAN

  • dont think that existed at the time

  • being sarcastic cause it looks like shit ?????/

  • lebron waak , kobe the best

  • @shutthefuckuploser your'e right. kobe won a MVP and 4 championships. lebron, 2 MVP's but no championships. meaning kobe is a complete playa!!!!

  • @whoyoufoo123 LOL, KOBE HATERS ARE PATHETIC

  • @shutthefuckuploser nah lebron and wade man. tmac pre injury and shaq in his prime.

  • @shutthefuckuploser Shut the fuck up loser!!

  • shaq and scottie met again in a conference finals. before in eastern conference finals when scottie pippen and the bulls met shaq-led magic. not shaq with the lakers vs pippen with trailblazers.

  • 3:19 - mike dunleavy jr. at the back of portland bench.. =))

  • yup. he wasn't a NBA player that time, i think.

  • horry is always oh so important.

  • As a Laker fan I was very nervous going into this game. Phil Jackson was brought in to win the title and they had the best record in the league. Losing this game would have been disastrous. But they got it done

  • phil jackson, I have mass respect for his coaching game 7s

  • steve smith was garbage. no defense. no clutch. nothing

  • man portlands team was stacked holy shit

  • at 8:22 you can see terrell owens

    i think its him

  • haha it does, its 8:24 btw

  • That is him. He was there, I remember they interviewed him after the game. Fuck I can't believe this game was over 9 years ago. I'll forever remember where I was when KOBE TO SHAQ!!! happened. My favorite game of alltime

  • yea haha i was 8 and i am 16 now and still rember everythin best comebbak evr

  • @915notorious if you were 8 then how u 16 now?

  • i was 7

    and now im 17

  • 4:47 ...hehehe

  • This was the farthest Pippen went without Jordan.

  • And how far did Jordan make it without Pippin?

  • He never made it past the first round. This was with in his early days as a chicago bulls

  • So they are equally the same. And that is the definition of "Team" winning Championship Basketball and why there is no I in team. People are expected to believe It was all Kobe or that it was all Shaq. Fact of the matter is by looking at this series, you can tell they were both key factors along w/ the other players. And then ppl will say, both players couldn't get a ring without each other. Well, Kobe got his Gasol, Odom, Bynum. Shaq got his Wade, J-Will & Posey.

  • Not necessarily. Pippen went farther without Jordan than Jordan did without Pippen he did it twice. Mike never made it to the Conference Finas without Pippen. They're only equal cause none of them won a championship without the other on their team.

  • True.

  • Yup and let me tell ya what. None of them went anywhere without Phil Jackson and that's a fact. Before Jackson became the Bulls head coach. Detroit was abusing the Bulls for 3 straight seasons. 88,89 and 90'.

  • Actually, Jackson's first year on the job w/ the bulls was the 89-90 season and that season they made it to the conference finals and lost. But in any rate they got far.

  • Yeah i know. and I don't think they would've kept Doug Collins as their coach they wouldnt've won in 91.

  • wow, youre smart, and i thought i was the only person in the world that realized that. glad to know im not alone, did you also know that pip and the jordanless bulls won 50 sumthing games in 94? o_O too bad he didnt win mvp that year.. he clearly was the mvp of the league that year

  • yeah Pippen only won the MVP for the All-Star game that year. MJ didn't get out of the first round of the playoffs until Pippen came. His first 3 years in the NBA he was gettin his ass kicked by Milwaukee and Boston. he had no squad.

  • I agree with everything you said but the MVP remark. Hakeem DOMINATED the league that year. He murdered everyone in his path and definitely earned it. Had he been white he would have been the greatest athlete of all time but the media didn't give him the hype he deserved because he was a muslim

  • well, its not like i hate hakeem or anything, because with all honesty hakeem WAS domination before shaq hit his prime back in 99, and he helped him become the force he was back in the day. I feel too hakeem had a great season that year, but considering the pressure scottie had on his shoulders, his season that year in my mind was his best, individually wise, and the team had a good record, considering they won 55 games W/O jordan, and the year before i believe they didnt win as many.. imo

  • Also, they finished in top four seeds, (3rd i believe i might be wrong) in a stacked up eastern conference with emerging teams such as the pacers, knicks, hornets magic, etc. but i give hakeem nothing but respect, the guy was a center with the moves and quickness of a 6'0 point guard, and now hes mentoring kobe on how to dominate the paint... oooo boy and its paying dividends

  • Do you really believe that? I think Hakeem's sin was being the first dominant player post-Jordan, not being a Muslim. MJ cast a shadow over the entire league...one that is just now truly being emerged from
