  • @umcsullivan wanting to back you claim with reasoning?

  • is he hi fiving the air?

  • 4 people have no work ethic

  • WTF!! is each shot he makes coming right back to him?!?!

  • @killacrossover512 Perfect shots roll back to shooter because of backspin.

  • @killacrossover512 backspinnnn

  • @killacrossover512 the magic of the spin man the magic of the spin!

  • "first of all, just let me shoot a little bit, just to get warmed up" *swish*

    what a boss

  • @kchiang4200 rofflllllllll we love you pistol!

  • stannecyo my msn in profile! Basketball Shooting 5 (Application)

  • Omg... He doesn't miss..

  • Who is the tallest basketball player?

  • I have free grow taller secrets....

    Watch my videos.

  • He's amazing! All the shots bounce back to him in the same way, who else in the nba today can do that

  • fucken money everytime..

  • pistol i love you. you were the real "magic."

  • hey anyone feel short? here is the solution

" Helpo Growth Formula " it worked for me....

  • These are the only "how to shoot vids" I actually listen to because he actually knows what he's talking about and is teaching without being too complicated.

  • hes so good that when he tried to miss deliberatly with the flat arc, he couldnt...

  • his shot is perfect, but earlier he said to snap your wrist, and when he shoots he doesn't snap it.

  • @DWade3211 he snaps it and its a fast snap that's why you don't see it

  • His Form Is Beautifuel

  • great teacher

  • can you miss?

  • year before he died. really sucks

  • Technique: A+ Style: A+ Attitude: A+ He is one to emulate.

  • Wow, this video was made in 87, and he already knew Michael Jordan was a legend. This guy is amaziing

  • Incredible to say the least! =O

  • I wanna thank the man who uploaded this video. I made the team because of this guy.

  • Master... I didnt know he was such a great teacher as well.

  • For some reason it looked like he releases the ball when hes at the very top, not on the way up. Can someone please EXPLAIN!?!?!

  • @realysmallshoe He does shoot it at the top of his jump. He says "on the way up" to emphasize that you shouldn't shoot it after your momentum starts going down. All fade-away shots are all arm strength shots where the power from your jump is not going into the shot. You want to shoot when it feels natural or "instictive" as he says.

  • It must feel good to swish everything in :D

  • @timivy5594 You're also a spamming fuckwad

  • his shoulders square to the rim??

  • where can i get the full video? :\

    thanks a lot

  • wett.

  • @boyz2manz his jumpshot is PERFECT

  • @boyz2manz

it goes in, thats all that matters.

  • would of been the best if he hadnt done his knee. very disappointing will be missed forever

  • waz he eva in the 3 point contest?

  • @bigdege there was no 3-point line when he played.

  • @justhappy30 u suck even more

  • Ha.

  • i will be watchin this video

  • good vid.

  • his shot is...perfect

  • take a step into the shot make sure you have a pretty good backspin and shoot on the way up!and follow threw until the ball makes contact

  • This might sound rather stupid but i learn my shooting from him :-) it really help alot and i'm making about 7 out of 10. But i'm still not able to make constant 3 pointer. Anyone got good pointers on 3 point?

  • just keep practicing. lifting weights can help out too. cause if you're stronger, you can get a softer touch.

  • really? lifting weights? thanks alot!! Need all the help i can get. But after lifting weights my shooting form goes wrong, does everyone get this problem?

  • shooting range is all legs

  • ok thanks for the tip yup i notice legs are quite important only yesterday especially on 3 pointers, sorry for bad english

  • yeah the legs are the soource of ppower not so much arm

  • @nokolosti you just gotta adjust, because when you lift weights, you gain strength in your arm so it's not as hard to shoot the ball anymore. What do you do after you lift weights? I usually play basketball one day and lift weights another day, this will make your arm adjust to the new-gained strength.

  • Legend please!

Is very very very very very good!

  • I gotta find these vids!

  • theres no white player better than pistol pete

  • he didnt say greatest because this was like 1986 plus he died in 88 so he didnt see all of mikes career to see what he acomplished.

  • yes michael jordan is the greatest player but pistol pete was an excellent 3 points shooter great shoots

  • exelent

  • We should all want to die like pistol. He was saved and lived his life for Jesus Christ.

  • One of the greatest ever

  • when i die i wanna go out like pistol pete

"He lived on tha court, He died on tha court"

  • This guy is awesome. Even so many years later, this is still helping players out there. Thank you ever so much, Pistol Pete. You're a hero.

  • @Asqarath Couldn´t have said it better. Thanks, Pete!

  • I neeever use underhanded layup ??? ;p

  • when i went into college i was banned from using underhand

  • rofl

  • If there is 3 point line around his college time

he might average 55 points up

  • ur wrong, he would average more than 70 points during his best season

  • i know its Pistol Pete but he doesn't follow through all the way

  • this video really helped me in basketball.

  • For real?¿ i thought this video would develop soccer skills

  • underhand layup??? how old is this vid???

  • He died in '88, so there you go...

  • HOW DID HE DIE?

  • heart problems

  • died of a heart attack playing a pick up game at like 50 or something

  • Haha, I like the song, and the advice he gives out. It helped me a lot.

  • Remember he scored 22 points in the NBA with no three

  • first shot, no jump, from 12 feet away, just wet.

  • this is were i learned how to shoot.

    lol?

  • that was nuts, he made every shot while talking to the camera.

  • i know and he still had range on his shot as well

  • man most of yall actin like yall dont know who pistol pete is

    hes a fuckin beast

he set like 11 records in college

and he avg. like 22 ppg in da nba

and he basically started the behind the back pass

  • lmao

pistol pete is the guy in the video

  • bon cousey started the behind the back pass, but pete populorized it

  • lol even when he shows us examples of how NOT to shoot it...he still makes it

    haha

  • pushaa and follow thru

  • another guy by the name of Michael Jordan he jumps very high on a jumpshot!

  • How old is he!? He didn't miss a shot!

  • He's dead.

I think he was like 40ish when he made the vid.

Great vid though, helped my shot a hell lot.

  • he had a congenital problem . his heart was problematic. btw he has helped me a lot but i still dont know how much strength i should apply. I am 1,76m tall and i use my height when shooting from a close enough distance from the basket

  • damn his jumpshot is nasty

  • very helpful

  • he doesn't fully cock his wrist.

  • but if i wana jump, shld it be jumpin wif both legs or jumpin wif the left leg(for right hand shooters)??

  • try jumping with your head

  • sry..i dun really understand wad u mean.can u explain more clearly mi pls??thx in advance=)oya,i dun really hav the habit of jumpin high when shootin.i tend to jump abit forward, will tt pose a problem?

  • ...He was just being a jerk.

Jump with both legs, not just one. That's key. Jumping forward shouldn't hurt to bad, but cut back, it affects your accuracy a bit.

And to a response tho the "wow he's so good" comments, OF COURSE HE'S GOOD. HE'S PISTOL PETE AND AVERAGED 25 PPG IN THE NBA AND IS A HALL-OF-FAMER.

  • wow he made all of them...well I think he missed 1 BUT HOLY CRAP I WISH HE WAS MY GYM TEACHER I'D BE SO GOOD

  • umm can u help me cuz when i do a jumpshot i cant seem to jump THEN shoot i usually do both any advice?

  • hot mv man probably because you dont have enough strength.move closer or start lifting weights

  • wow good vid hes really good

  • My shot has been falling short. Why am I missing? I think I'm not jumping high enough. Do you have to jump high on your jump shot? If so, how high does a 5 foot 8 person have to jump?

  • you dont have to get stronger you just have to work on your shooting timing. you have to shoot like pete says on the way up. pretty much as soon as your foot leave the ground, shoot. dont forget to follow through lol

  • Absolutely amazing

  • he nver misses.great videos.this helps me alot/

  • Yeah, notice how, he stays in the same spot the whole drill? Important! He's shoots good misses too. Most people don't appreciate this. Good misses, follow the shot, dominate.

  • OMG WATER HE IS THE MAN

  • "another guy by the name of Michael Jordan.."

If only he lived to see what Mike did..

Great tut by pistol pete though!

  • nice

Pete can shoot better than most players in NBA right now

  • thanks stannecyo and pistol pete it helps me a lot

  • whats a pro layup? it got cut off at the end.

  • i want to know either

    -*-

  • great stuff..

  • Well, DUH. He died 1988. So of course this is old...

  • what a legend shooting and talking, and hes a really good explainer :)

  • his really close to perfect

  • some people say to release the ball on the peak of ur jump. So...do u release it on the way up or at the top of ur jump?

  • listen to pete and no one else. theres your answer

  • dis guy is awesome

  • Fundamentals... that's what's lacking in our generation of basketball players. Thank you for these vintage clips!

  • There is a reason he is one of the 50 greatest players in nba history. Kobe was right when he said American players are beginning to suck now. We dont care about the fundamentals anymore. We do JUST ENOUGH to win a game, not to make every shot anymore =\

  • zomfg he DOESNT MISS that guy is AWESOME

  • He should have mentioned Ray Allen =(.

"Another guy, by the name of Ray Allen can shoot jumping low or jumping high."

  • ime pretty sure ray allen wasnt playing back then...

  • @wannaberayallen: dude think before you post, he died at 1988. so this video should be quite old. so do you think ray allen is in the nba at that time?

he may be still sucking the milk bottle.

  • cut your thumb off then it wil fix

  • HE"S DRAINING ALL HIS SHOTS

    what A GREAT LEGEND
