The one unifying message was that the government isn't representing the interests of the people, which is a view that most people hold. As for libertarianism, On its surface people would find it appealing. It's when they start hearing about doing away with Social Security, and Medicare, and going back to when the states weren't compelled to adhere to our civil and political rights that they'd be turned off.

And, unlike what Paladino thinks, Downstate is different from Upstate. In Buffalo, Public transport is thrown away like a bad leaf of lettuce. Its terrible. Cars are the main mode of transport. In Downstate, Public transport is the lifeblood. Even after Robert Moses destroyed parts of the cities to build highways, there's still not enough room for traffic. You can fill highways on top of highways, but you just won't get anywhere because Downstate is dense. Paladino doesnt understand subways...

He is a brave man, who speaks as he believes. Looj at his audience, the "hats", who believe God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. I cannot fault him for campaigning for the Orthodox Jewish vote, there in Williamsburg. It's part of the New York electorate, and their votes count just as much as anyone else's, and this man certainly has my respect.

The one unifying message was that the government isn't representing the interests of the people, which is a view that most people hold. As for libertarianism, On its surface people would find it appealing. It's when they start hearing about doing away with Social Security, and Medicare, and going back to when the states weren't compelled to adhere to our civil and political rights that they'd be turned off.

This includes debates on morale issues (like abortion or Paladino here), infringing on private affairs (Patriot Act), and the federal government's role in affairs (bringing more power to the states).
The original Tea Pary got few members and were thought of as kooks by everyone. Then Republican candidates used that to influence voters as it got more popular via media coverage.

Paladino is such a hypocrite. He talks about "setting the right examples for our children" and to "stop pandering to the pornographers and perverts" when he has forwarded numerous e-mails with pictures of nude women, bestiality, videos of hardcore porn, and racist videos and pictures amongst others. Accoring to him, homosexuality is "not the example we should be showing our children, especially in our schools", but bestiality and racism are.

The only people I know who share his views are my 81 yr old dad and the 70-something yr old Christian fundamentalists who live across the street. It got 7 million votes and passed with 52.24 % of the vote.
Gay marriage has lost in every state it's been put on the ballot.
