  • still remember singing along in 79 cant wait till modrophenia may 12

  • Forgot how good it was!

  • Not bad, could've benefitted from some pre'66 Wholike production ,(more reverb),apart from the guitar, this sounds too clean.

  • discogs.com/Purple-Hearts-Frustration/release/1670285

  • still sounds great

  • Tune!

  • size 9

  • first time I've listened to this for years...... Had it on 7 inch, and I can still remember all the words.....

  • They are a completely unknown band for me. Maybe because I lived in northern Europe as a teenager. But better late than never. A new world of great music from 60's and 70's has opened up for me. Many thanks to the Purple Hearts and Youtube. A tip about Scandinavian music from the 60s. You've never heard of them before: Check Up THE ZETTLERS and their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". The recordings were made 1965. Listen to the bass. Astounding.

  • great band fae yesteryear...!!!!

  • Any chance you might favor us with the ripping flip? That would be extraordinarily sensational, man.

  • always been an anthem, seen em so many times in the early eighties and still doin it noe!!

  • Still sounds fukn great after all these yrs!!

  • Still got a demo of this. Well demos of all the old revival bands.(great to be on mailing lists innit hahahaha) But this was my fave at the time an it always filled the floor when played. Much better than Secret Affair. These,Chords/Killoreters, Loved them!

  • @GasMaskHeadhunter secret affair paid tooo much attention to being mods to put out music this good

I think we've all felt like that!

Great track thanks for posting it!

  • They're playing in Glasgow on Saturday 4th September.

  • i got the album he he

  • fantastic 7" single.

  • Dude this is a band I've been looking for. Not specifically, just the sound. Does anyone know any other bands like this?

  • This was one of the bands that fronted the Mod revival in Britain in 1979.

The main band was "The Jam". If you have not heard their music yet then you are in for a real treat. Just search for them here and start with "going underground" or "town called malice".

  • @wafflestastetasty

Squire, Merton Parkas, The Circles, The Chords...all from the same era mate

  • @wafflestastetasty they have reformed and are playing some dates this year

  • Great to hear The PurpIe Hearts are back!

And Secret Affair pIay their 30th anniversary show @ The Camden Centre, May 30th - Iong Iive MOD

  • I saw em all over the shop, Brixton, The Marquee, The Lyceum, The Electric Ballroom, The Regency suite in Ilford, Hastings Pier, but the best nights were Mods Monday at the now gone Bridge House in Canning Town, they were classic nights.

  • love this song great

  • This is terrific. You could repackage a lot of the singles of this era and sell them as "new" and they'd probably be monsters on the charts.

  • i love the "My generation" type stutters in this song. Amazing

  • The wrapping on a chocolate bar. a piss poor imitation of the Clash n.b not the Jam.

  • I GGGGET FRUSTRATION! Large. Love it!
